Drummer Steven Adler, who was fired from the group in 1990 over his drug issues, has long been the only member that expressed a strong desire to see the original lineup play together again.
He once again discussed the possibility in a new SiriusXM interview on Monday night and said that believes that Duff McKagan and Slash have problems with him and doubt that he has cleaned up his act.
He said in the interview (via Blabbermouth), "I love those guys, and I always will, but Duff, he doesn't think I'm cool. He doesn't think I'm a cool guy. This is what people tell me. And he doesn't think I'm cool and that I'm not that great of a drummer. And Slash, he doesn't believe that I have 21 months and 21 days sober. He doesn't believe it.
"I don't know why, but they forget that at one time in their life, they were doing drugs and drinking and they were f***ing up. They forget that they were like that too. Duff has got 20 years sober or more, Slash has got, like, 11 or 12 years sober, and I've got a year, nine months and 21 days. So everybody gets it at a different time. I'm just thankful I got it."
He continued, "They don't think I'm cool and they don't think I can play drums that great and they don't think I'm sober. Duff, he has a right, in a way, but, like I said, he forgets where he came from too. But we did do some shows [together] in Japan [in 2013], and Duff invited [Steven's current band] ADLER to come down, and I was still drinking then. And the second I got to the airport, I made a beeline for the bar, and I just started doing shots of Jger. And the whole trip I was sick and I was just a mess. And, you know, Duff's sober and he's very judgmental and forgetful of where he came from. And he was just so bummed and pissed at me.
"I mean, the playing part, the shows when we actually were performing, that went all right, but everything else So I kind of ruined it and gave him the excuse to be able to say, 'Well, he's not cool and he's not that good.' But I stopped doing that. They stopped doing that. Just because they stopped doing it before I did doesn't make them any better. We're all people who have addiction problems. I was just able to get a grip on it later on in life than they did." Read more from the interview

When Rolling Stone writers ranked Bowie's 1972 The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust.... in the # 35 spot on their Top 500 Albums of All Time, "They didn't do so because of David Bowie's hairstyle," writes New York Times contributor and InTheStudio alum Joe Rhodes. For over 45 years we have witnessed the artistic genius of David Bowie, never more dramatically than in those beginning five years.
David Bowie had already shown his chameleon ways from his Mod beginnings to his pseudo-psychedelic folk rock Space Oddity , and later with his Dylan-channeling Hunky Dory. But it would be the invention of the cosmic character Ziggy Stardust that would give Bowie mesmerizing influence over an otherwise conventional musical landscape.
Bowie shares with InTheStudio host Redbeard which of his early albums was the critical lynchpin to develop the singular character that would become Ziggy Stardust.
Bowie says, "The one thing maybe I learned from doing Hunky Dory was how oriented I was to doing narrative... There were no real characters on Hunky Dory, but the idea of developing little story songs as opposed to just mood pieces, it obviously was quite strong in me and I think it gave me the motivation to propel myself towards something more cohesive as an album."

"All good things must come to an end however. I no longer have the stamina and resilience required for extended touring, and I do need to figure out what I want to be when I grow up.
"Much gratitude to the fans and friends who have supported the band over the years, and to my brothers in Toto... I can never thank you adequately for the music, the laughs and the friendship going back 40 years. Love and happy trails to you all."
