Osbourne provided the following details to Billboard, " Jack and I are doing a thing for the History Channel, like a father and son spoof on history. We went to Stonehenge and met a guy who thinks he's the f***ing reincarnation of King Arthur. And we went to Bletchley Park to see the machine [Alan Turing] used to break the [German] kind.
"We're going to Mount Rushmore, to the abandoned silos where America used to have their Minutemen missiles and all that. It's educational for me, actually -- history with an Osbourne slant."
Ozzy also elaborated more on his recent comments about Black Sabbath opting out of making a final album and explained the reasons why. "We were gonna do one before the tour, but it would take three or four years to write and record an album, by which time I'll be f***ing 73 or 72 or something, so we decided just to do a farewell tour.
"Plus, after the last one [2013's 13, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200], if we did an album and it went to No. 2, people would go, 'It's over,' right?"
"I just felt like playing some rock 'n' roll for a few days," says Blackmore, "just playing the old rock stuff, Purple stuff and Rainbow. I'm doing it for the fans, for nostalgia, and the singer I found is very exciting; he's a cross between Ronnie James Dio and Freddie Mercury.
"So this will mean exposing a new singer to the masses, and I'm sure he'll become pretty famous because of his voice." Details of the musicians joining Blackmore onstage will be announced on Wednesday, while tickets for the show will go on sale at 10am on Friday. Read more

Castronovo released a public statement about the arrest, apologizing for his actions and saying that the arrest and prosecution forced him to seek treatment for domestic violence and drug abuse and probably saved his life.
The following statement was published on deencastronovo.net on Friday (October 30th), "Two weeks ago, I, Deen Catronovo, made a plea deal with Salem, Oregon prosecutors. I plead guilty to one count of coercion, one count of unlawful use of a weapon, two counts of assault 4, and 2 counts of menacing. Ref: Case #15CR23974 in Marion County Court."
"Anyone who witnessed the events remains adamant that my abrasive behavior stemmed from the fact that I was at a drug-induced psychosis level of intoxication at the time of the occurrences. Otherwise, I am an easy- going guy who loves being a father and a musician."
"After my Indictment in June, I completed a 75-day inpatient treatment program at the Hazelden Betty Ford Springbrook Center, the most comprehensive drug abuse treatment center in the State of Oregon. It was at Hazelden that I quickly realized how dire the situation had become. I made a vow to myself and my family to not only stay sober but to dedicate time telling my story, speaking to promote sobriety, being a good example to my sons and advocating for the rights and assistance of domestic violence victims. I hope by telling my story I can help prevent someone else from making the same mistakes I did."
"Taking into consideration that I have been able to stay completely sober since my Indictment in June as well as the fact that I have continued domestic violence and drug counseling without any difficulties, Judge Jamese Rhodes sentenced me to four years of probation. The probation requires me to continue the domestic violence and drug abuse counseling."
"At the sentencing I apologized to my ex-fianc, Deidra, and her family for the hurt I have put them through. I continue to wish Deidra the best. I know Deidra is not at fault for my behavior nor the consequences I have suffered because of it. Again, I want to apologize to Deidra, her family, my family, my band-mates in Journey and the fans of Journey. I'm sorry I let you all down. I have hit my bottom and I'm taking the necessary steps to ensuring that this never happens again."
"As devastating as this was for me it was far more devastating to Deidra and our children. Had it not been for her calling the police and the intervention of the prosecutors I'd probably be dead. I'm going to focus on my family, finding happiness in sobriety and helping others who might be going down the wrong path to avoid destruction. For now I'm taking it one day at a time and looking to discover what new path God has planned for me."
The band say: "We are proud to announce our involvement in Black Ops 3. Treyarch asked us if we would like to create a score to accompany a portion of the multiplayer soundtrack and we gladly accepted.
"On November 6 you can pick up a copy of the game and check out our instrumental score entitled Jade Helm while you play multiplayer or in your personal bunk inside the Safe House of the campaign." Read more

He says the ordeal was a result of his bipolar disorder and a cocktail of prescription and non-prescription drugs and that he's taking his recovery one day at a time.
And once he's back to full health, Stapp hopes to work with Mark Tremonti, Brian Marshall and Scott Phillips in Creed. He tells Rolling Stone: "I recently ran into those guys, totally not planned at the Hard Rock Hotel in Orlando. I was taking my son and my wife down to the pool.
"We ended up hanging out by the pool for three hours, just talking and catching up with our families together. Right at that moment, the relationships began to have a new organic-ness. We've stayed in communication since then. I know that Mark and the guys have a lot going on, as well as I do.
"I definitely hope that when the time is right, and when our schedules make sense together, given the commitment that we already have, I do hope that we do get back in the studio and make another record. Our 20th anniversary is coming up in 2017. But we'll see how it works." Read more

Video has emerged of the show, including the group's first two songs, "Playing in the Band" and "Cold Rain and Snow." All eyes were on Mayer, who was stepping into the late Jerry Garcia's role, as lead guitarist and vocalist. Judging from the video, his lead playing was Garcia-influenced, but still retained his own style. And on "Cold Rain and Snow," his laid back style of vocals seemed to work well.
The Albany Times Union reviewed the show, saying that Mayer was "simply astounding, pushing the band forward with his virtuosic fretwork and an infectious energy that propelled the show from start-to-finish." Check out the video

A six-track, limited-edition 10-inch LP, The Arcs vs. The Inventors Vol. 1, is out November 27 as part of Record Store Day's Black Friday event. The release, the first in an ongoing collaborative series under The Arcs name, will be out digitally December 11.
"Sometimes the best way to see into the future is to study the past," Auerbach says in a statement announcing the project. "In this series, we do both, collaborating with folks who have been in the game a long time but instead of rehashing old material, we collaborate on new works, explore new ideas and introduce each other to a different generational perspective." Event organisers DD8 Music secured funds for the project via a Crowdfunder campaign that recently surpassed its target of 45,000. Scott was born in Kirriemuir before his family moved to Australia and he eventually teamed up with AC/DC to worldwide acclaim.
Set for the April 29 - May 1 weekend, Bonfest will unveil the life-sized statue by artist John McKenna on April 30 in a memorial garden on Bellies Brae in the town, and will be officially revealed by former AC/DC bassist Mark Evans and Scott's 'soulmate' Mary Renshaw.
Evans will perform a solo set of material and join Renshaw - one of three co-authors of the newly-published book Live Wire - to participate in book signings as well as a Q&A session.
Also scheduled to appear is drummer Bob Richards, who appeared in videos for Let's Play Ball and Rock Or Bust last year when Phil Rudd was unable to attend the filming. Read more and see a photo

Gamma Ray say: "Kai just felt that it's time for him to cut a bit shorter on singing because he found out that his long touring - especially headline shows - after a while always tends to f*** up the voice and end up with something that is not 100%. So sharing the vocals makes things much easier and much more pleasurable.
"It will not only give the band a new dimension, but it will give Kai the freedom to move around on stage a lot and plus create a bit more action on the live performances and be more free to play the guitar."

Taylor tells KOMP 92.3: "We look at everything. We look at the artwork, we look at the music, we look at the stage - everything. Everything's interconnected. Because it's so much more artistic and creative than just your typical shock-rock band.
"And I hate to use that even in acknowledgement with us, because there's so much more creativity that goes into this band. I would say we have more in common with Tool than we do with Kiss, to be honest. And I love Kiss, I love Tool, but, for me, it's a representation, and everything is connected, everything is a piece of each other." Read more

Janus now says: "Back to business! Yes, I am still the singer for Huntress. So often the things I say or do are misconstrued, even by those closest to me. It is the end of an era for Huntress - we completed our trilogy, writing one album a year." Read more

Hellbook presents anecdotes from the players themselves alongside unreleased live and backstage images, some available for the first time. With artwork designed by illustrators and designers like Frederick Moulaert and Marcos Moura, the project - referred to as the 'Helloween Bible' - was initiated by Carlos Vincente Leon and David Lpez Gmez from Spain as a book by fans for fans.
Bassist Markus Grosskopf says: "For us, this book is highly emotional and evokes a thousand memories. Good moments as well as not so good ones are captured here. Thirty years of Helloween on almost 500 pages and no end in sight."
Guitarist Michael Weikath adds: "I wonder if this story will ever end. Flipping through the pages, there are many details I didn't know, didn't realize, or forgot. Here's hoping it will entice and thrill the interested reader - and do some good in unforeseeable ways." Read more

They previously unveiled a video for Double Trouble. On the album writing and recording process, Lydon told Classic Rock last month: "We were all gagging at the bit to get in and just enjoy each other's company. And this is the end result. That's not to say that we're perfect human beings. We had arguments, but they always led to good things.
"There's none of that petulance that I've seen with other people I've worked with over the years. PiL is now in a position where I've always wanted us to be - completely independent of outside authority." Watch the new video

It's been issued to coincide with the Australian outfit's North American tour with Parkway Drive. They were due to play tonight's (October 30) show in Anaheim, California but were banned from taking to the stage at the House Of Blues venue by owners Disney.
The band said: "We are very sorry to announce that due to the narrow-minded, corporate censoring goons over at Disney, we will be unable to join Parkway Drive on their upcoming dates at Anaheim on October 30 and Orlando Lake Buena Vista on November 23.
"We are aware we haven't played Florida for quite some time now and we are itching to get back down there and play for you guys." Check out the video

Drummer Chris Reifert says the record shows the veteran Bay Area death metal outfit continue to do what they do best. Reifert tells Noisey: "As far as writing, recording and all that stuff, it's always the same every time. The approach is unchanged since day one. The songwriting is exactly what you think we'd be doing, no abrupt changes in style or weird experiments or anything like that.
"If you liked us before, I think you'll be pretty stoked. And as usual, if you didn't like us before, this won't change your mind. It's us doing the only thing we know how to do."
Skull Grinder will be issued on vinyl to coincide with this year's Black Friday event on November 27, while a CD version will follow in 2016. The project will also be included as part of After The Cutting, an 82-song, four-disc package presenting a career overview complete with demos, rarities and unreleased tracks along with a book by artist Dennis Dread.

The Darkness say: "The band has found some more tracks hidden under a carelessly-discarded catsuit, and thought they would make an excellent Christmas gift to their fans. The tracks join the phenomenal original 10 tracks which were unleashed earlier this year to critical acclaim."

The pair first met when Bryant was 13 years old in 1993, Last year he and his wife set up the YouCaring campaign to help with the liver transplant that saved Trout's life last year.
Bryant also went out on the road with the veteran musician's backing band to keep them in work while their leader was in hospital. Trout said at the time: "Besides being one of my dearest friends, Danny is a great artist who's starting to come into his own. So my band, who depend on a pay cheque, get to work, and I also help to get Danny's career going. It's a win-win situation." Stream the song

Guitarist Dan Weller says: "It's more thoughtful, heavier, more refined. A lot of heart and soul went into the making of it - this record is for our fans who've been so loyal."
Mainman Mikee Goodman recently explained the concept behind Dan Mumford's cover art. He said: "The concept of Opacities comes from the layers we see beneath the surface - the undertone of the city. It can relate to anything though whether it be humans or whatever. It's also inspired by the hypocrisy in modern culture." Read more

Cornell tells Migs Cast (via Blabbermouth): "I always felt like if most of the people that came up with me and came out of the world that I came out of and my band came out of, if they seemed to try to write for commercial success, it probably had less commercial appeal somehow.
"And I always felt that way with me. I felt like I can write 10 songs, and if one of those somehow has a broader appeal, it's an accident. But that accident will happen occasionally. And I'm not necessarily ever the best judge of it. I don't feel particularly in touch with the commercial side of music as a fan, and I never was."
He continues: "I was always someone that liked the deeper album tracks and I liked the songs that I didn't hear on the radio - the songs that my friends hadn't heard. And maybe what went into making that song is something that appealed to me, that is why I like music that's different than, I suppose, what makes commercial music.
"I believe that, especially with commercial success, if that's your aim as a songwriter, I think you have to get in that lane early and stay there because there's a whole bunch of stuff you've got to work out. I never worked any of that out. I always felt like I'll do my best as a songwriter and an album recorder if I don't consider any of that, and I will have probably a better chance at having popular songs if I don't do that." Now, it'll be issued on double gatefold 2LP, and pressed on tangerine vinyl via Invisible Hands Music. Following Froese's death, former member Peter Baumann, who had been in discussions to rejoin the group, vowed to keep the band going.

The follow-up to 2014's Esoteric Symbolism, and their first outing with vocalist Nathan Peachey, is described as a "textual story of real depth, drama and intensity about events that unfold within a travelling show - the facades, the elation, the extravagant performances and the conflict within everyone involved."
Guitarist Dean Wells says: "Her Halo is the third track, where the story goes into more detail about the trapeze artist and how she sees her world. On the stage she's the star and elegance radiates off of her

Guitarist Aaron Moreland says: "The new album is consciously more traditional than our last two - but still has the signature grit and power that we've crafted the past 13 years. We achieved that beautifully."
He continues: "We're very happy to work with the Alligator team. One of our biggest influences ever, Hound Dog Taylor, was the very first Alligator artist. One of the reasons we have no bass player was listening to Hound Dog's music as we were coming up." Read more and check out a video

He reports: "Big Mama Thornton is responsible - I played one of her tracks on my radio show, heard a nice harmonica solo and checked the liner notes to see who it was. It was Big Mama! It was the first time I recall hearing a woman playing blues harp, and it set the wheels turning in my head."
He set up the website Hermonicas.com to chart his progress, until the concept of a compilation record was suggested. "It's taken a few years - working with 30-plus artists can get very complicated," says Smith. "But finally the album is finished and is about to become a unique part of music history.
"I hope this album will shed some light on what has been a black hole in the blues universe. It proves that, as with other instruments, women are the equal of men on the harmonica. Perhaps this will help them get the attention that has passed them by in the past." Read more including the track details

Frontman Jorel Decker recently told TeamRock Radio: "In Europe the fans are much more loyal. They're harder to earn, but they'll stick with you for a lot longer.

'Broom Cupboard' started off as a bit of a throw away track for me. Most of the songs on 'Esque' I'd meticulously planned from top to bottom, but with this one I remember feeling out the melody/lyrics and structure fairly absent-mindedly over the course of a few hours, making a conscious effort to relinquish control of the track whilst writing (not sure if 'conscious' constitutes relinquishing control) and just follow the mood. I definitely felt the album needed something light and floaty to offset all the gloom.
Since then the track's taken on loads of different incarnations. There's a version of it somewhere that sounds a bit Nirvana Unplugged, and another one that's all synths. I guess it took a while to find the right instrumentation to fit the song.
Lyrically I guess I was still toying with some pretty bleak themes - singing about some kind of insurmountable/thankless pursuit - hence the "40-something failure" talk.. It's more tongue in cheek than anything too solemn though..
I was just picturing myself in the exact same place as 40 year old cackling away maniacally, with my Mum looking on in horror.
Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself as you watch the video here and learn more about Rob and his new album

Up to 400 people were in the club at the time and more than 140 people remain in hospital. A stampede started after the fire took hold and swept through the venue.
It is now thought that safety rules were not heeded, the BBC reports. "We got together to see what we had with maybe putting out a three track EP in mind," says Joe Elliott. "All of a sudden we had twelve songs on the go, and two more would come just a few weeks later. "We made this record as an artistic statement that we'd be happy to play in 10 or 15 years in time and go 'You know what? That is a great record. That was a great period in our career'," says frontman Joe Elliott. "You just have to wait for the stars to be aligned. For this new album, they seemed to have been for us, because we all played and sang great and wrote well.
"There's some great variety on there. Every single aspect of anything we've ever wanted to put out - acoustic, heavy, soft, slow, fast - it's there. That's why we call it 'Def Leppard' because, just like Queen were, we're capable of coming up with vastly different kinds of songs." Watch the video

He fell from a bridge in July, aged 32, after seemingly suffering a mental breakdown and accusing bandmates of being involved in a conspiracy against him.
ATB postponed their planned activities to deal with the emotional issues resulting from his death - but they later announced a US tour with The Faceless, saying: "Everybody deals with tragedy in their own way, and at their own pace. Wake Up! is about "not giving up in asking ourselves questions about purposes and meanings of everything," says The Pontiff. Drummer Mikkey Dee says: "We've released a few drinks now, and for every one, we want to push the limits further. With Motorhead Imperial Pale Lager, we pulled all the stops, and this is craft beer at its best. We love the approach of Patrick and his crew at Nils-Oscar, and we know our fans will love this great beer as much as we do."
Holmqvist adds: "Motorhead are a huge part of my childhood, so needless to say I jumped at the opportunity to brew with this iconic band. From my first show at Saga in Copenhagen on April 3rd 1986 I instantly connected with the sound, the attitude and their complete refusal to compromise. I took all that with me to the brewery, and for me, the beer absolutely reflects those things." Read more

Former Gallows frontman Carter recently explained the record was the result of a "turbulent year" in 2014, adding: "I wrote it all down, a line here, a paragraph there, and soon I had a book full of suffering and questions.
