The band released the following message to fans, "Well sh*t. As you may or may not have heard the Supersuckers have had to cancel their upcoming European tour due to unforeseen issues.
Not ones to keep you good people of impeccable taste in the dark, we'd like you to hear it from us first. Our lead singer, bass playing madman, Eddie Spaghetti, has been diagnosed with stage 3 oropharynx cancer and will undergo surgery and radiation treatments this summer." Read more

Ashba says in a Q&A session at GearFest in Indiana: "Even after I accepted and everything, I had no idea that the shoes I was stepping into were pretty hardcore.
"I'd never read a bad thing about me on the internet ever - it was like, 'You're not Slash. F*** you!' And I'm like, 'Oh sh*t, this is a whole different thing.'
"That kind of blindsided me, because my head wasn't even there. I was like, 'I'm a fan of the band. I'm just trying to help keep that music alive.'" He reflects: "I finally slowly won some of them over, so that's good." Read more

Frontman Matt Bellamy described Drones as "a modern metaphor for what it is to lose empathy," adding: "Through modern technology, and drone warfare in particular, it's possible to do horrific things at a great distance - without actually feeling any of the consequences, or even feeling responsible.
Last month he admitted to doubts over working with producer Mutt Lange before recording began. He said: "I didn't want us to be turned into a kind of top 40 act. He wasn't like that at all - he was totally into the concept." Read more

And despite Rammstein guitarist Richard Kruspe recently saying that the band would reconvene in a year to decide their future and that there was "no plan for an album" it seems as if that's changed - although the material might not be ready until 2017.
Tagtgren tells Bloody Disgusting: "Till is going to go back to Rammstein in September to begin pre-production stuff and he says that it usually takes two years from when they start until the album is done."
Tagtgren also reveals that Lindemann are already working on their second album - even before their debut's been released. He continues: "We're rolling already. We were already writing stupid lyrics when we were drunk and sh*t. We're going at it. We're going to go as long as we have inspiration." Read more

The band released to the following message to fans, "An update re: Erik's hand injury... Due to the nature of the injury and persistent swelling, the doctor has advised Erik to not use the hand at all for the next 4-5 days minimum. As such, this spells the end of the Deicide/Metal Alliance tour for Hate Eternal.
"The immediate plan is to get back to Tampa and have Erik's hand reevaluated again, and figure out when he can play again. Plans are in the works for a fall tour, and we'll be doing our best to hit the places we're missing this week. We'll update you all on that just as soon as we have news.
"Thank you all for your patience, understanding and well-wishes. We're looking forward to seeing you all on the road again this fall."

The band has announced that they have recruited former Hearts Alive bass player Markus Wibom to replace Ola Flink, who has left the group to focus on "other endeavors".
Frontman Bjorn "Speed" Strid had this to say about the change, "We all sooner or later come to a crossroad in our lives, when our focus of being fueled by the past, is just as strong as our visions of the future and we have to make that incredibly hard decision. Where do I go now? Flink will forever be a symbol for Soilwork and of all we were and still are about. That being said, we all could sense that he eventually would come to the above mentioned crossroad. He understandably and respectfully chose to step down.
"So, where do WE go now? Let me introduce you to one of the finest and most stand up people I know: Markus Wibom. He's been a long-time friend and is an overall multi-instrumental amazing musician. He's been with us before, on past world tours. He's also an amazing character and I couldn't think of a better person to fill Flink's shoes, which indeed are very big literally (Markus' shoe size is actually even bigger, if anybody wants to know). Anyway, as much as I will miss Flink, I'm just as excited to tour the world with one of my absolute best friends. Thank you Flink, you will forever rule. Thank you, Markus, for taking this on. I know you will blow people's minds, once the world tour of The Ride Majestic commences. Please give Markus a very warm welcome everyone!"
New member Markus Wibom adds, "It's a great honor and a true pleasure to play with such skilled musicians and amazing people! It's going to be awesome to share the stage with those guys after all these years on the road together, and with the new record coming up - it absolutely kills!"
The new lineup will be hitting the several major European music festivals this summer followed by the North American We Sold Our Souls to Metal with Soulfly, Soilwork, Decapitated and Shattered Sun. Soilwork will then launch their European headline trek The Tour Majestic this fall with special guests Hatesphere.

He wound up delivering lead vocals, bass, synth, foot pedals and triggering backing tracks when the Canadian giants explored a more electronic sound. Lee tells Rolling Stone: "Every rehearsal, I was screaming, 'I can't do it!' But it just felt wrong to have another dude on stage with us. We talked about it all the time. We still talk about it. But it's a no-go zone - can't do it."
He believes the balance between him, Alex Lifeson and Neal Peart is the secret to their longevity. "We're never mean to each other," he says. "If we disagree, we pout. That's sort of the Canadian way. But we did love punching Alex when he said something stupid."
Drummer Peart reflects: "If any of us were the slightest bit less stable, the slightest bit less disciplined, less humorous or more mean, or in any way different, it wouldn't have worked. There's a miracle there." Read more

Before the show Trout made the following admission: "I thought it was over. Even when I got the liver I couldn't play a note. It's been a long haul - but it feels awesome."
After receiving a standing ovation from the audience after his emotional performance, he can only say: "I have no words. I'm still overwhelmed. I can't express it."

"I'd like to dedicate this to Dave Grohl," Nicks told the crowd, NME reports. "Falling off stage, getting up and playing a two-and-a-half-hour set, I think that's awesome."
Nicks and Grohl know each other through working together on various projects. Nicks appeared in Grohl's 2013 documentary Sound City, and she has also recorded with him.
Grohl, thankfully, is okay, but the injury has caused Foo Fighters to cancel the remainder of their U.K. and European tour dates. Read more

It's worth mentioning that it will not only be released on LP, CD and digital, but also cassette. Because what better place to listen to the Eagles of Death Metal than in a tape deck in your car (preferably a Camaro)?
Hughes and Homme played all the instruments and wrote all the songs on the album, except for "Save A Prayer"; that's be a Duran Duran cover. As if it wasn't self-explanatory enough, Hughes explained the album title in a press release: "The new album, Zipper Down, really represents to me an attitude and philosophy of life. One should not zipper up, they should zipper down and let it all hang out."
For his part, Homme cited science to make a case for the album. "In an independent study, four out of three doctors say Zipper Down is an eargasm trapped inside a crazerbeam," he wrote. "And I believe them." Read more

Producers Eagle Rock say: "It was an intimate, rare club appearance and very little footage has been released - until now. It's a must-own DVD for any Stones fan, featuring carefully restored footage and sound mixed to perfection by Bob Clearmountain, including 5.1 surround sound on the DVD and SD Blu-ray formats."

Speaking to Metal Hammer, Gus says about the new track: "Burn is one of my favourite tracks on the new record. I was going for a very simple and catchy riff with a groove, something that will get metalheads banging their head right away.
"It's one of the songs I co-wrote with Jacob Bunton and I remember Jacob sending me the file with his demo vocals and the chorus just stuck with me instantly. I knew we had an awesome track happening. Play it loud, bang your head and enjoy!" Stream the song

He tells Music News: "It took me a long time to find the right way to approach the songs, I went through a couple of producers. Things kept getting delayed, pushed back and moved around and there were some pretty stressful times.
"But it was worth it because I was chasing something and the key to it was Butch Walker. I wish I had met him 10 years ago because he's the perfect producer for me and also a lovely man. The record came out exactly as I wanted it, so I'm very pleased with it." Read more

Vocalist Leslie Hunt tells Prog: "Takeover is one my favourite songs to sing with the band and it's actually the first D97 chorus melody that I ever wrote. Jonathan Schang started the theme with the verses and I followed suit. It's all about having cake and eating it too."
Drummer Schang adds: "I got the idea for Takeover after going on a bit of a Led Zeppelin binge. It's sort of my ode to Black Dog, with its knotty riffs pitted up against a heavy backbeat. I think the end result is a great example of D97's personal, proggy take on classic rock." Read more and stream the song

Bassist Dave Meros reports that while the band's sound differs from previous outings, there are plenty of references to their previous work. He says: "I think the opening track Tides Of Time is classic Spock's in terms of arrangement and style - but everything else is fairly different.

Haraldstad tells Metal Wani: "We're working on a cover album and a new studio album. We've never made so many new musical discoveries in such a short time as we have lately. That's helpful for motivation and inspiration."
The band's last studio release was their 2013 self-titled eighth album. Haraldstad believes their career is summed up on that record, which he says was more "dynamic" than anything they'd done before." Read more

Frontwoman Jill Janus says: "The evolution of Huntress bleeds into Static - our third and most prolific album. It is the heaviest and catchiest record we've written.
"The process of writing and recording was new and exciting, at times very difficult for all involved having to record in between relentless touring." She reveals she's never been so honest in her approach to songwriting and adds: "I reveal life-long personal obstacles that I previously feared weaving into my lyrics." Read more

Parker tells the NME: "I think I wanted to make songs that I'd always wanted to do, but I'd always shut out, because I thought those influences were not fitting the realm of psych rock.
"But the more I explore, the more I realize that those boundaries are meant to be broken." Read more
