The hard rock legends will be kicking off the tour on August 22nd at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA and finishing the trek on September 28th at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles.
The tour will feature stops in major cities across the United States and Canada and is their first major tour since their award winning 2008-2010 Black Ice World Tour.
The band's latest studio album, "Rock or Bust", is their first album to not include cofounding member Malcolm Young who was forced to retire from the group due to a battle with dementia.

The event will be held February 7, 2016 at Levi Stadium in the San Francisco Bay area city of Santa Clara, the backyard of Metallica's home base.
Jason Long initiated the petition; he writes: "For over 30 years Metallica has broken down walls and led from the front in the heavy metal/hard rock genre. They are the undisputed kings of heavy metal and responsible for bringing the art form into the homes of millions around the world. Nobody sought them out; they forced their way in and continue to be an unstoppable monster of sound and energy to this day. Their songs are anthems in NFL and major sports stadiums across the country.
"They've won Grammy's, they've headlined every festival around the globe from Glastonbury to Lollapalooza. They've sold over 110 million records worldwide and have a consecutive streak of #1 chart debuting albums that spans their last five full length releases. They were first ballot Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees. Quite frankly, there's nothing they haven't done or accomplished which is why it is with zero trepidation that I make the bold statement that it is absolutely stupefying that these American pioneers of rock have not been involved with a Super Bowl halftime to date and it is time for that to change.
"Super Bowl 50, the biggest of all Super Bowls, just happens to be taking place in the home region (Northern California, San Francisco Bay area) of one of America's biggest and most legendary rock acts. The connection needs to happen; Metallica needs to be the musical act for Super Bowl 50." Read more

Leger released the following statement about his leaving the group, "After 5 years of heavy touring and recording for Every Time I Die I have decided to call it quits. I would like to thank everyone for all of their love and support over the years, especially my 4 older brothers who have taken care of me and showed me sides of the world I only dreamed about when I was touring and recording in Canada.
"Big thanks to all of their friends and family who took me in when Buffalo became my second home. This will not be the end of my musical endeavours, but for now I will be making up for a lot of lost time with my family. I offered Daniel Davison the opportunity to become full-time father to my children and after giving it some thought he decided he'd much rather fill the role as ETID's drummer.
"Best of luck to Daniel, Keith, Jordan, Mitch, Andy 'Big Man' Williams and all the die hard ETID fans I've had the pleasure of smashing a beer with. See ya'll at the Buffalo Xmas shows!"
The band had this to say, "Sadly, Ryan 'Legs' Leger is no longer with us. he's not dead, he has just voluntarily ended his involvement with ETID in order to spend more time with his family and hopefully one day earn that coveted #1 Dad mug he's heard so much about. we wish him nothing but the best and we will all miss him dearly. but the show must go off. enter Daniel Davison. See you soon."

Produced by Bob Ezrin, the album has not yet been given a release date, but Cooper suggests it could be out sometime around September of this year.
Cooper tells Eddie Trunk (via Blabbermouth): "I can't tell you who's on what right now, because it's not gonna be released yet, but it's the 'who's who' of everything. It was one of those things where, at one point, I'm looking around in the studio and I'm going, 'Holy crap! Look who's in the studio.'" Read more

The band recorded the album in their Oakland, Ca studio with producer Bill Gould, who recent said the following in an interview about the effort, "What I can say is that I think through our experience as musicians over the years, I think what we're doing reflects where we've gone since we made our last record as Faith No More. I think this kicks things up a notch.
"And I think there's parts that are very powerful and there's parts that have a lot of "space." Everything we do, with our chemistry, the way we play; it's always going to sound like us. It's just what we do, that makes us feel good."
As previously reported, the band will be supporting the new album with the launch of their first North American tour since 2010 on April 15th in Vancouver, BC at PNE Forum.

Last week, the group put the word out that they needed 150 fans for the shoot; the tune is expected to be issued as the third single from the project, following "Play Ball" and the title track.

"I think we have managed to capture the best elements of what the band are about in 2015," says frontman Steve Overland. "We had great fun making the record and we are all very proud of the finished result. There are big rock anthems in tracks like Diggin' Up The Dirt and Fire and Rain, and many melodic songs with FM's trademark hooks and vocal harmonies. There are also not one, but two ballads. One of these (Walking With Angels) is a stripped-down acoustic song, which is something a little different for us."
The band's drummer, Pete Jupp, adds, "After our shows in November the band was white hot and the creative juices were in full flow, so the writing and recording process for Heroes and Villains was a prolific and painless affair. We're looking forward to getting back out on tour, straining at the leash."
The first music from the Heroes and Villains to emerge is You're The Best Thing About Me, described by guitarist Jim Kirkpatrick as, "a late contender for the album by Steve that the rest of band loved immediately. It's a great driving song that harks back to some of FM's earlier material."

The new edition features a total of 23 tracks, including five additional songs, seven instrumentals and extended versions of material from the 2014 release.
Kerzner says: "All the new songs are placed in their correct order within a concept album. This isn't just the album plus a bonus disc of outtakes - these are songs that could have been on the main album but there simply wasn't enough room on one CD.
"This version has longer intros, outros and segues which gives it a live concert and movie-like feel to the overall listening experience." Read more

The band say they were inspired to write the new material after a fan gave bassist Martin Sandvik a demo which was recorded in 1994 - and they quickly decided to try and recreate the vibe from their early days.
The band say: "We all got very surprised about the great vibe and how good we sounded that early. The tracks were drenched in sweat, excitement and inspiration. So when it was time for us to start working on songs for our new album, we returned to those demos and relearned those old riffs and got inspired for all the new stuff that we came up with." And cellist Eicca Toppinen says before they found him, he thought it might be impossible to secure the services of a singer to record a whole album. He tells Artisan News: "We felt that there was serious magic in the way Franky sings and in Franky's voice - it has a very unique character and is very recognisable.
"It was a scary challenge to make the step to get a singer in the band. We thought it might be impossible to find a great singer who would be available who's not stuck in his own band." Read more

He was behind the desk with the Californian rockers on 2011's Pressure & Time and last year's Great Western Valkyrie. And after long admiring Cobb's work, Europe asked him to produce their 10th studio outing War Of Kings, which launches in the UK on March 2.
At a press conference detailing the album, Tempest says: "Like us he wanted to find a vibe and an atmosphere for War Of Kings - something majestic, something special and I think we achieved this. It's the most interesting Europe album in my mind and we're very proud.
"Dave wants to find a vibe from old equipment. He records drums, guitars and bass the right way. We discovered him listening to Rival Sons and we were mesmerised by the drum sound on their album Pressure & Time."
He continues: "A few years later we heard Electric Man and Open My Eyes and we thought, 'This guy is still amazing. Can we call this producer?' We told our manager to call him and we didn't expect much. But he said, 'I used to play drums to Europe when I was a young kid - I'd love to produce Europe.'" Read more and stream the conference

Electric Boys - who played a UK tour last September - reformed in 2009 after a 15-year break, during which time frontman Conny Bloom released a few solo albums and he and bassist Andy Christell were members of Hanoi Rocks for the final five years of the Finnish band's run.
Bloom explains the decision to reform the band after such a long break, telling Myglobalmind: "I'd been in Hanoi Rocks with the bass player for four and a half years and that's a bit more straight-forward rock 'n' roll, if you like, and then when we quit the band, we started talking to each other.
"I said, 'What do you feel like doing nowadays?' We both wanted to do the same thing - go back to sort of that kind of groove, more 70s guitar stuff. Then we said, 'What are we gonna do?' Then we might as well try to put one of the best bands in that style together again, in my point of view."

The band includes The Haunted vocalist Marco Aro, In Flames guitarist Jesper Stromblad, former In Flames guitarist Glenn Ljungstrom, ex Kaamos/Grave drummer Chris Barkensjo as well as bassist Rob Hakemo.

Speaking about the new track, frontman Robin Adam says it's "one of the clearer examples of the progression of the Mise en Scne series. It fuses the anger of our last EP Confrontation with the heart of Exposition in order to take the listener to somewhere else entirely - it was the clear choice for the lead single."
But where did the video idea itself come from? "Our guitarist Petey [Graves] has for a long time been a big video nerd," says Robin, "and has produced the vast majority of our online video content, and his girlfriend Nicky is a budding young film maker. Over the years they've collected some pretty nice equipment and together they came up with the idea for the video, directed, shot and edited the whole thing. The result is our best music video to date!"
