Journey's Live In Manila Two DVD Set Coming This Friday

PR reports: Journey's Live In Manila two-DVD set will be released October 2, 2009. Filmed with RED technology, which utilizes special 4K high-definition cameras with a resolution exceeding 35mm film that gives the footage an extra dynamic quality, the DVD captures Journey's historic concert in Manila, Philippines. Performing more than two hours' worth of classic favorites, as well as new hits from the band's latest album, Revelation, Live In Manila documents the triumphant homecoming of the band's singer Arnel Pineda.

On March 14, 2009, Journey returned to Pineda's homeland and introduced him as their new lead singer to a crowd of nearly 30,000. Group members Neal Schon, Jonathan Cain, Ross Valory, and Deen Castronovo swelled with pride as they witnessed the Filipino people embrace Arnel and the music of Journey.

By the time of the Manila concert, more than 800,000 copies of Revelation�the band's first album with Arnel�had been sold, and was supported with sold-out shows all over the world. - more on this story

The Dear Hunter Map Out More Tour Plans

ABC reports: Just as their headlining tour commences, The Dear Hunter has added more shows to their already busy schedule promoting their critically acclaimed Act III: Life And Death.

Once the headlining trek concludes October 3, they'll head out with Thursday through October 24. When that round of dates is done, they'll head back out for another week's worth of headlining shows with Annuals. From there, The Dear Hunter will launch a brief jaunt with Thrice and Polar Bear Club from November 15 � December 4.

In video news, Casey Crescenzo has been putting the finishing touches on the animated video he's directing and producing for "What It Means To Be Alone," which will be ready for TV and Internet consumption by mid-October. - more on this story

The Troops Rock New Albums

PR reports: Dedicated to producing and promoting great American music from the nation's most talented military personnel, To The Fallen Records has announced the long-awaited follow-ups to their stunning debut genre compilations that launched the label.

Three new full-length compilations of [military]-songwriters - To The Fallen Records Presents: Rock Volume 2, Hip-Hop Volume 2 and Country Volume 2 - will be released this October, and together represent the latest and greatest from active and veteran U.S. Armed Forces musicians.

The music heard on To The Fallen Records releases is created by artists stationed overseas, who set up studios in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as by artists stationed in Europe, Asia and the United States. Lyrics come straight from the artists' mouths and describe their most private and intense moments, telling the stories and experiences of being a Marine, soldier, airman or sailor in today's military. The songs on the compilation offer moving portrayals of the varied experiences of both active soldiers and veterans of combat, while embracing everything from plaintive country ballads to gritty, guitar-driven rock jams and lyrically hard-hitting rap tracks. HORSE the band Shapeshift Online

PR reports: HORSE the band debut their mind-melding new video for "Shapeshift" today on MySpace. "Shapeshift" was directed by Daniel Chesnut and is the first single from the bands upcoming full-length, Desperate Living (10/06, Vagrant).

The song features Jaime Stewart of Xiu Xiu lending his sound design and production skills as well as backing vocals.

"Jamie is one of the only people out there experimenting with sound and actually getting non-traditional sounds to convey profound emotion. He is a true artist and as a huge admirer of his, I wanted to see what he would do with our music," said Erik Engstrom, HTB's keyboardist. - more on this story

Winds Of Plague Hitting The Road

PR reports: Winds Of Plague has changed the landscape of heavy music upon release of their highly acclaimed, vicious new album, The Great Stone War, which made an impressive debut in its first week landing at #73 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. The new offering is going to quickly propel the band to the forefront of the American metal scene and serve as a much needed wake up call to the genre.

Joshua Radin Continues World Tour

PR reports: Singer-songwriter Joshua Radin is about to kick off a run of dates in Europe where he completed a sold-out tour earlier this year. Following that tour, he'll be returning home for a string of U.S. dates this fall.

Radin is touring in support of his new album, Simple Times, which hit No. 1 on both iTunes' Top Album and Alternative charts within 48 hours of its release. Led by lead single "I'd Rather Be With You," sales of individual album tracks have surpassed the 400k mark. The video for the song � shot with old Super 8 and Polaroid cameras � was directed by Zach Braff ("Scrubs," "Garden State"), a college friend of Radin's. It features Katrina Bowden from "30 Rock" and hit the Top 10 on the VH1 Countdown.

Over the course of the past several months, tracks from Simple Times were heard on TV shows such as "Scrubs," "Bones," "House," "Grey's Anatomy," "One Tree Hill," "90210, "Brothers & Sisters" and "American Idol," among others. His music has also been featured in the films Post Grad and I Love You Beth Cooper and two of his songs are featured in the upcoming Fox Searchlight movie Adam (one of the tracks, "When You Find Me," was written specifically for the film and features vocals from Maria Taylor). - more on this story

Valient Thorr Fall Tour

PR reports: Continuing their single-minded mission to spread their message of peace with a catalyst of hard & fast Rock n' Roll, the mighty band from the planet Venus, Valient Thorr, will be barnstorming both the U.S. and Europe this fall. The Black Dahlia Murder Deflorate Billboard's Top 200

Metal Blade reports: Metal Blade Records is very proud to announce that death metal act The Black Dahlia Murder have cracked the top 50 in Billboard's Top 200 chart coming in at #43 with the release of Deflorate. The album dropped on September 15th in North American and sold over 12,000 units in just its first week of release making it the band's strongest first week to date.

In addition to hitting the #43 position in Billboard's Top 200 charts, The Black Dahlia MURDER came in at #5 on Billboard's Top Independent Albums chart, #4 on Billboard's Top Hard Music Albums chart, and #50 on HITS Top 50 Albums chart. The carnage doesn't stop here though as The Black Dahlia Murder's Deflorate also landed on Canada's Billboard Charts coming in at #52 in the Top 200 chart, #3 in the Top Independent Albums chart, and #6 in the Top Hard Music Albums chart.

Metal Blade reports: Goatwhore will continue to tour relentlessly as they always do following the full US tour with Obituary, Krisiun, The Berzerker and Warbringer.
