Rolling Stones Deny Split |
News of which sent chills throughout the music community. Coming on the heels of Noel Gallagher's decesion to split Oasis, the thought that Charlie Watts would leave the Stones just shy of their 50th anniversary seemed almost too much to bear.
And as it turns out, it isn't. MusicRadar contacted the office of The Rolling Stones' spokesperson, Fran Curtis, who issued the following statement: "Contrary to a fabricated story that ran this morning, Charlie Watts has not left The Rolling Stones.''

Metallica Is for Monkeys |
The tamarin experiment involved playing different types of music to see if monkeys respond to music, or if only humans do. They played a variety of 30-second clips including music experts had devised from monkey sounds.
While they reacted to the monkey music, the only human music they paid attention to was Metallica's � and it made them calm and relaxed rather than the response straight-laced lab geeks expected.

The impressively moustachioed frontman told BBC 6music that the album, his first as a solo artist, would be named 'Boots Electric Fabulous Weapon'.
He has been recently going under the nickname 'Boots Electric' after formerly being referred to as 'The Devil'.
Hughes said he had some rather ambitious production wishes for the album.

Kansas Set Symphony Concert |
After 35 years, Kansas still rules the classic rock radio airwaves and continues to put on simply spellbinding shows of the highest caliber.
To celebrate the 35th anniversary of the release of Kansas' self-titled 1974 debut, a live DVD, "There's Know Place Like Home," will be released on October 13. A hi-def for Blu-ray release (mixed in 5.1 surround sound), the show was filmed on February 7 of this year in their home state (at Washburn University's White Concert Hall). For this show, the group - which includes singer/keyboardist Steve Walsh, guitarist Rich Williams, violinist David Ragsdale, bassist Billy Greer, and drummer Phil Ehart - was united with former members Kerry Livgren (guitar/keyboards) and Steve Morse (guitar), as well as the 50-piece Washburn University Orchestra.

The Bronx Taking Their Mariachi Alter Ego On The Road With The Killers |
The band also announced that they will be performing as main support for The Killers on five dates of their upcoming U.S. tour, beginning on September 15th in Irvine, CA at Bren Event Center.
The new record, produced by Jon Avilla, sees the original Bronx lineup joined by a renowned string quartet. The guitarron, which imparts to the music much of its genuine mariachi flavor, is provided by Vincent Hidalgo, the son of Los Lobos' David Hidalgo.

Apples in stereo's Robert Schneider to Keynote in Brisbane |
Schneider will be seen and heard alongside other important speakers at Big Sound, including Van Dyke Parks, legendary lyricist for Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys.
This will mark the first time that Schenider will perform Apples material in Australia and comes shortly after one of the band's hit songs, "Energy," has been featured in a major advertising campaign in the country.
