John Paul Jones Talks Zeppelin Reunion and Them Crooked Vultures |
But Them Crooked Vultures look to have put paid to them nasty rumours, because Led Zep bassist John Paul Jones says he's "really happy" with his new supergroup, also starring Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters) and Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age).
Jones reveals there were indeed plans to hit the road after he, Plant and guitarist Jimmy Page reunited in December 2007, with dead drummer John Bonham replaced by son Jason. Jones tells the BBC: "Jimmy and I rehearsed a bit with Jason Bonham and we couldn't really agree on singers and that fell by the wayside. Then this [Them Crooked Vultures] came along and to be honest, I'm really happy."

Guns N' Roses Support Acts Announced |
Guns N' Roses recently announced that they will hit the road in Canada in January and February of next year. But support acts for the outing were not mentioned at the time. Now we know Danko Jones will join them for the 13 date outing. But they won't be alone.
Axl Rose knows what works for him, so he calling upon his old friend Sebastian Bach to play the tour as well. The former Skid Row frontman toured with GNR on their last tour and even jumped up on stage with Axl during the trek.

John Lennon Biopic Trailer Released |
Based on the memoir Imagine This: Growing Up With My Brother John Lennon by Julia Baird, Lennon's half-sister, the film was directed by Sam Taylor-Wood, scripted by Matt Greenhalgh (Control) and was filmed in Liverpool.
Nowhere Boy, which stars Aaron Johnson as Lennon, details the Beatle's early life when he was raised by his Aunt Mimi, portrayed by Kristen Scott Thomas. Anne-Marie Duff plays Lennon's mother Julia, who gave him to Mimi when he was four years old.

However, Explore Music's Alan Cross has revealed that some Canadian music types have been re-working the tracks from Scream into Rock songs.
Michael Friedman, who works in Los Angeles in music licensing and placement, told Cross, "I heard some 'Black Hole Sun' greatness deep within some of the songs...." Read more and grab a listen to the results

The Steve Hillage Band is confirmed as special guest on Gong's forthcoming nationwide November UK tour, which kicks off at the Bristol O2 Academy on Thursday November 19th. This marks the first time since 1979 when Hillage will perform material from the following renowned Steve Hillage Band solo albums - 'Fish Rising' (1975), 'L' (1976), 'Motivation Radio' (1977) and 'Green' (1978).

This shocking announcement comes as Zombie exits [Geffen] his former label of eighteen years, where he sold fifteen million records as a solo artist and with his former band White Zombie. Zombie's new album, Hellbilly Deluxe 2, previously set for release on November 17 will now be released by Roadrunner/Loud & Proud Records in early 2010.
"It certainly wasn't an easy decision to make after all this time, but it had to be done," states Zombie. "I love this new record and wanted to surround myself with an excited new group of people who can reignite my enthusiasm for working within a hard rock record label.
