The End of Megadeth? |
Rock Radio has pointed it out before, but this time Mustaine's gone further than before. It's a matter of record he's been unhappy with the US part of his label, Roadrunner Records, for some time. It's also a matter of record he's suffered hand and spine problems in recent years, which at one point threatened to end his playing career.
Now, responding to fan comments on the Megadeth forum, he's stated that Endgame might be their last album, and that if folding the band has to happen, he'll accept it in the spirit of becoming a better person afterwards. He says: "The president of Roadrunner came out and said this was the last record but if we didn't re-sign with them for more records they were going to stop selling Endgame. I've always known there's another record owed. I'm a man of my word and I'm going to fulfill my contract - rest assured, though, that I'm not going to release a compilation record or a live record for my final record with Roadrunner."
[Maybe Dave should have listened to all of the former Roadrunner band's who complained about the label's F'd up PR dept. before his signed on the dotted line. Sounds like the BS comes straight from the top.]

Sugar Red Drive In Serious Van Crash |
The vehicle hit a guard rail, spun out, and flipped over. Miraculously no one was killed. Bassist, Dave Alexander, suffered the most serious injuries breaking his arm, dislocating his elbow, and breaking his thumb. He underwent surgery in a Kalamazoo hospital Sunday afternoon and is expected to make a full recovery.
Incredibly the 3 other band members and crew only suffered bruises and abrasions. When asked about the accident, Drummer P.J. Gasperini replied, "All bands pay their dues on the road - we just got a few more lumps than most do."

David Bowie Called For Exorcism of Semen Seeking Witches |
Bowie told the author, "I'd stay up for weeks. Even people like Keith Richards were floored by it. And there were pieces of me all over the floor. I paid with the worst manic depression of my life. My psyche went through the roof, it just fractured into pieces. I was hallucinating 24 hours a day."
Spitz adds, "Increasingly Bowie was convinced there were witches after his semen. They were intent on using it to make a child to sacrifice to the devil, essentially the plot to Roman Polanski's 1968 supernatural classic Rosemary's Baby."
So he called in the Ghost Busters! Ok, 'white witch,' read more of this strange tale

Husker Du's Grant Hart Taking His Hot Wax on the Road |
'80s alternative rock has gone down in the history of music as one of the most fertile and influential musical movements ever - as judged by the amount of notable bands that would subsequently "follow the leaders." And one of the leading lights of the movement was unquestionably Hsker D. After the group's split, drummer Grant Hart moved out front with guitar in hand, and also handled lead vocals on his solo releases. But Hart has spent the last few years working on Hot Wax.
Joining Hart on the disc is a diverse cast of musicians from Godspeed You Black Emperor, Silver Mt. Zion, and Rank Strangers with the tracks being recorded in both Montreal and Minneapolis. Hart explains: "The song 'Narcissus, Narcissus' is my first attempt at combining ancient Greek mythology and American rock-a-billy. By merging those influences with an ice cream truck atmosphere I think I have found a style that defines this period of my career. 'You're the Reflection of the Moon on the Water' is one of the most organic rock and roll songs that I have ever written. It's style owes a lot to my devotion for Patti Smith. It was inspired by a comment made by a monk during the selection process to find the next Panchen Lhama, who said of one candidate, 'He is the reflection of the moon on the water but he is not the moon'."
