Sick Puppies Hit The Road With Breaking Benjamin and Nickelback

Sick Puppies begin their winter tour with Breaking Benjamin on November 29th in San Antonio, TX, which will include a number of Holiday Radio Shows throughout the Midwest after returning from a short stint of dates supporting Nickelback starting in New Zealand November 7th and taking them back to their homeland of Australia.

Sick Puppies' lead single "You're Going Down" took the rock world by storm, scoring them a No. 1 record on the Mediabase & BDS Active Rock Chart this past September. The single continues to hold strong on the Rock Radio charts and currently sits Top 5 at Active Rock and Top 20 at both Modern & Rock radio charts.

The hard hitting fight anthem appears on the band's latest album, Tri-Polar (RMR/Virgin Records/EMI Music), which released on July 14. Revolver recently spotlighted Sick Puppies as one of their Bands To Watch in their November 2009 issue. In addition, "You're Going Down," served as the theme for WWE's Extreme Rules PPV broadcast this summer, scored them an Unleashed video premiere on MTV2 & MTVu, is currently featured on WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2010 Video Game (out now), and has hit #1 on FUSE's Countdown Rock Show. While recently released b-side, "That Time of Year" will be featured on the NCIS Soundtrack and TV show this November. Riding the wave of success, Sick Puppies will begin shooting the video for follow up single "Odd One" in Los Angeles later this month subsequent to its impact on the modern and active rock radio charts. - more on this story

Mars Volta's Omar Rodriguez Lopez Solo Release Out Today

Renown guitarist and musical mastermind Omar Rodriguez Lopez makes his debut as lead vocalist on his most melodic and revealing album to date, available worldwide on November 10th, 2009 via his own Rodriguez Lopez Productions.

The disc, titled Xenophanes is a major step from the Grammy-winning guitar legend -- and we don't use the word "legend" lightly, Rolling Stone hails him among their "Greatest Guitarists of All Time", placing him on that issue's cover.

Wikipedia tells us that Xenophanes was a Greek philosopher, poet, and social and religious critic of the 5th century BC. His pantheistic conception of the Universe supposed that everything in existence has always existed. He rejected his contemporaries' notions of an anthropomorphic "god" (or hierarchy of gods) in favor of a concept not the least bit irrelevant to our 21st century mindset, that of a singular (and hence, all-encompassing) global consciousness. His unorthodox concepts were not widely acknowledged until many hundreds of years after his death, and suffice to say, their material concerns are primarily those which humans wage war over two-and-a-half millennia later. Little surprise, then, that this iconoclastic anomaly of a man should lend his name to a new concept album by The Mars Volta's hyper-prolific mastermind, Omar Rodriguez Lopez. - more on this story

West, Bruce & Laing Reunite For Short Tour

It's been almost 35 years since bluesy hard rock supergroup West, Bruce & Laing has performed together, but soon the trio's music will ring out again live in concert for the last time ever. West, Bruce jr. & Laing are set to perform a limited four-show engagement at the end of January, 2010 (please see dates below). West, Bruce jr. & Laing features original band members Leslie West and Corky Laing and very special guest Malcolm Bruce, sitting in for his father Jack Bruce.

Frontman and legendary guitarist West commented, 'Playing with Jack Bruce was the thrill of a lifetime. Playing with his son Malcolm has given Corky and me, a second chance to recreate this music.' Drummer Laing added, 'As a hockey-loving Canadian, I can liken it to this'I feel like I am scoring a Hat Trick. After playing with Felix Pappalardi and Jack Bruce and now with Malcolm Bruce, I feel like the game is just beginning.'

Originally formed in 1972, with core members of two historic groups, West, Bruce & Laing featured lead singer/guitarist Leslie West and drummer Corky Laing from Mountain along with bassist Jack Bruce from Cream. West, Bruce & Laing's debut album WHY DONTCHA, released in 1972, won the hearts of critics and fans alike and featured the massive hit single of the same name. The group only performed 63 shows in the United States and Europe (selling out venues such as Radio City Music Hall and Carnegie Hall in New York City) and released one more studio album in 1973, WHATEVER TURNS YOU ON. By the time the trio's live album LIVE N' KICKIN' was released in 1974, the group had disbanded. - more on this story

The Disco Biscuits Tease New Album With Tour and EP

Genre-defying band The Disco Biscuits are hitting the road once again in support of their new EP, "On Time." The band will spend time in California around Thanksgiving before returning to the East Coast for a number of dates in New York and their native Philadelphia, including a five-night engagement at New York's Nokia Theatre between Christmas and New Year's.

The "On Time" EP is out on the Biscuits own Diamond Riggs through Warner Music Group's Independent Label Group. This EP serves as a teaser for the Disco Biscuits' full-length February 2010 release, "Planet Anthem" which will also be distributed through ILG. "On Time" can be purchased online on iTunes and at livedownloads.com for $4.99, or at any of their upcoming live shows.

"On Time" and "Planet Anthem" represent an evolution for The Disco Biscuits, who have been writing and recording with Don Cheegro and Dirty Harry (Ludacris, Fantasia, Chris Brown). Noted for their fusion of jam band music and electronica, the band again moves in an adventurous direction by taking on hip-hop influences and adding to their already eclectic sound. This is nothing new for the band, however, as their flagship festival Camp Bisco has featured acts like Snoop Dogg, Nas and other hip-hop artists in past years. French Music Legends Magma To Release Final Installment Of Epic Trilogy

(Glass Onyon) One of music's most innovative and eclectic ensembles, Magma, will be releasing the final installment to their most recent epic trilogy. Titled �m�hnt�htt-R�, Magma's new opus will be released internationally on November 5, 2009 on Seventh Records. This marks the second trilogy by the legendary French band, the first being Theusz Hamtaahk. Magma was founded in Paris in 1969 by drummer Christian Vander, who derived his inspiration from a "vision of humanity's spiritual and ecological future" that profoundly disturbed him. Vander was a self-taught musician, who received some tips from drum legend Elvin Jones. In the course of Magma's first album, the band tells the story of a group of people fleeing a doomed Earth to settle on the planet Koba�a. Later, conflict arises when the Koba�ans, who are descendants of the original colonists, encounter other Earth refugees. A distinguished aspect of Magma's music is that Vander actually invented a constucted language, Koba�an, in which most lyrics are sung. Later albums told different stories set in more ancient times; however the Koba�an language remained an integral part of the music

"In its message, as in its genesis and its making, �m�hnt�htt-R� is an intimate epic, an occult stride forward, a quest for the sublime. Initiated in 1975, its composition beholds its whole fulfillment after more than three decades. It is the testimony of an unwaveringly timeless inspiration, of which the expectant present asserts itself beyond history. AM Conspiracy Set New Album Release

The Rise of Sleeping With Sirens
