Marilyn Manson Snuff Film Fantasy Masquerading As A Video
antiMusic reports: Skwerl over at Antiquiet takes a look a disturbing new video clip from Marilyn Manson. Here is part of his report: Marilyn Manson is seen violently beating an eventually naked (and dead) Evan Rachel Wood in the new clip for "Running To The Edge Of The World." I've had some rough breakups, but I never produced a six and a half minute snuff film starring an avatar of some chick I had plenty of good reasons to get the hell away from anyway. Yikes

The clip for Running To The Edge Of The World is mostly a webcam style shot of Manson mourning in anguish into his drapes, but then at the end, we're led into a room where Manson is seen violently beating an eventually naked caricature of ex-girlfriend Evan Rachel Wood. To death. The clip is totally safe for work, as long as you're unemployed.

In a Q&A with TIME, Manson said: "I've lost friends. I've lost love. I've lost money. And this record is really about loss. The last album had a lot of romantic, Shakespearean ideals attached to the music, like 'The world doesn't understand us. Let's die together.' Now? This record is more about, 'If you say you'll be with me until I die and then you change your mind, you should run very fast. Because I'll kill you.'" - Read Skwerl's take on that quote and check out the clip (if you are so inclined)

MTV Walls Off Free U2 Berlin Show
antiMusic reports: Oh the irony. Oh the boneheadedness. Oh the bad PR move. Someone thought it was a good idea to erect a wall around a free U2 concert staged to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. Not such a good idea. Then again, you can say that about most of their prime time programming.

But at least MTV's excuse is better than the East Germans who erected the first wall because they were just trying to keep out all of the greedy capitalist from trying to avail themselves to the joys of communism. This time it was for "safety" reasons, according the Associated Press. Watch, they'll next try and play it off as being intentional and meant to be symbolic.

Here is part of the AP report: U2 returned to Berlin for a free mini-concert Thursday in front of the Brandenburg Gate, but the show was obscured from public view by a nearly 6-1/2-foot (two-meter) high metal barrier. "It's completely ridiculous that they are blocking the view," said Louis-Pierre Boily, 23, who came to Berlin even though he failed to get U2 tickets. "I thought it's a free show, but MTV probably wants people to watch it on TV to get their ratings up." - more on this story

Slayer, Megadeth, Testament and High On Fire Tour?
antiMusic reports: Metallica may have killed hopes for a big four tour with Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax but Blabbermouth has caught wind of another mighty metal lineup that may be hitting the road. Here is what they had to say:

Slayer, Megadeth, Testament and High On Fire are rumored to be teaming up for a U.S. tour starting in February 2010.

It should be noted, however, that this information has not yet been corroborated by an official source. [That being said, Blabbermouth have a pretty good track record on these kinds of things, read their full report - here]

Bon Jovi Fans Revolt- Pixies Do Dolittle- Switchfoot Instore- Who Should Replace Steven Tyler?- Radiohead Suggest Throttling Downloaders- Folk Go Punk and more
antiMusic reports: Someone forgot to tell Bon Jovi that there is a recession on and fans seem to be getting little bit pissed (again) at excessive ticket prices. We'll see how many vote with their wallets by keeping their two grand and staying home this go around (where they can eat their own TV dinner while watching Jovi videos). Read a bit about this latest backlash at Classic Rock If that wasn't enough, Tony K blogged a little bit about their ticket pre-sale scheme which he thinks is being used to "pad" the first week sales of the band's new album by selling a download of the album (at a higher price than the standard iTunes album) with the ticket package. Read that here.

Original Metallica Member Selling Historic Instrument
antiMusic reports: Want to own a piece of early Metallica history? How about an instrument from a founding member of the band used during those early days? Classic Rock has the 411:

Former Metallica bassist Ron McGovney is currently auctioning off his Fender Precision bass on eBay. McGovney, who preceded Cliff Burton in the band, says:

"I am including the original sales receipt which has my address that I lived at in Norwalk, California until 1987. The phone number on the receipt is the same as the one most Metallica collectors will recognize as being the same as the number on the original Metallica business cards.

Santana, Marilyn Manson, Billy Idol, and Earth, Wind, & Fire Go Hi-Def
Kayos reports: Eagle Rock Entertainment has pioneered the music DVD and Blu-ray market. On November 17, they will once again deliver hi-def music satisfaction for a wide array of music fans, when performances from Earth, Wind, & Fire, Carlos Santana, Billy Idol, and Marilyn Manson are released just in time for the holidays. [MSRP $24.98].

In 1997, funk-soul collective Earth, Wind, & Fire hit the Montreux Jazz Festival stage in the midst of their In The Name Of Love album tour. On Live at Montreux 1997, the band set the crowd alight with new material and classics such as "Let's Groove," "September," and "Boogie Wonderland." It's their larger-than-life R&B anthems and vivid stage show that has earned the band countless accolades, including six Grammys and international hit singles. Presented in hi-def, the show is even more spectacular.

Another alum of the Montreux Jazz Festival is Carlos Santana, who out-did himself on July 12, 2004, when he hosted a performance as musical director. On Santana Presents Blues at Montreux 2004, he is joined by three blues guitar legends - Buddy Guy, Bobby Parker, and Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown. Each of these renowned guitarists was given his own set, providing the ultimate musical showcase for all lucky enough to attend. Chic's Nile Rodgers also makes an appearance. Originally released on standard DVD in 2006 (Eagle), this set truly puts the "blues" in Blu-ray.

Roger Daltrey Loses It In Cleveland
The Who reports: Roger Daltrey's voice gave out for the first time in the latter half of a gig at the House of Blues in Cleveland Tuesday night.

"I sound terrible," he said toward the end of the show. "I had a very bad night's sleep last night," he added. "This is what I woke up with."

He had a day off before the next stop of the tour (in Orillia, Ontario) so with any luck his voice was rested by then. For a review of the gig by John Soeder, ('The Plain Dealer') in cleveland.com - click here
