The Beatles, AC/DC Music Now Available Digitally? |
The website is also streaming the recently remastered albums in their entirely, allowing listeners to listen to them for free. All of which is rather strange and shocking news to EMI and Apple Corps, who have fiercely blocked the online sale of all Beatles music.
[BW&BK also reports: In addition to the Beatles, one can find selections from AC/DC and Def Leppard on BlueBeat, artists who haven't licensed their full catalogs to iTunes.]
- But is it legit?
Iggy Pop and The Stooges Reunion Tour Coming |
"The band have been rehearsing more without me than with me because I've been doing other things this year. But we have been rehearsing all together more recently," Iggy said in a BBC Report. "We're going to be doing a one-off show in Brazil in a few weeks but the real touring starts next year."
Sadly, original guitarist Ron Asheton was found dead in his Ann Arbor, Michigan home back in January. History has a way of repeating itself as Asheton's high school bandmate James Williamson will once again step in to fill Asheton's shoes in The Stooges like he did three decades ago.

Slayer Postpone Megadeth Tour For Medical Reasons |
Slayer's Tom Araya is currently under the care of a specialist for a back injury, thought to be related to his on-stage activity, and the physician has ordered an immediate surgical procedure to take place in Texas tomorrow (Tuesday) morning.
"What is foremost in our minds right now is that Tom do whatever he needs to to get this taken care of," said Slayer's Kerry King. "While all four of us are disappointed that we won't be able to see through all of our commitments set for the next few weeks, the most important thing is Tom's health. We thank the fans in Canada and here in L.A., the Megadeth camp, and everyone associated with 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' for their understanding. We look forward to seeing you all soon."

Dashboard Confessional and New Found Glory Tour Canceled |
Dashboard Confessional posted the following notice on their website: We have some bad news. Due to a family situation that is beyond our control, we have to cancel our upcoming tour with New Found Glory, Never Shout Never, Meg & Dia and Single File (we are still playing with the Louisville Orchestra on November 7th). We don't take this lightly but family has to come first. As this is a last minute development, we are still figuring out what we will do- as soon as we know, you will know. We apologize to everyone who planned on coming to the shows. We will find a way to make it up to you.
At press time there was still no official word from the New Found Glory camp about the fate of the tour, but Chad Gilbert of the group posted the following on his Twitter (which pretty much confirms the whole tour is off): To EVERYONE WHO IS CONFUSED. NFG and TITLE FIGHT shows are NOT cancelled. Only the Dashboard tour was. Our headline shows are still a go!!!!

Lost David Gilmour Produced Unicorn Albums See The Light |
Early in 1973 Unicorn played at the wedding reception for Transatlantic publicist Ricky Hopper. One of the guests was David Gilmour of Pink Floyd, who at the end of the evening got up and jammed with Unicorn on Neil Young's "Heart of Gold". Afterwards Gilmour told the band that he really liked Country Rock. A week later the Pink Floyd guitarist phoned the band to say that he had just installed a studio at his country retreat and asked if they wanted to demo some songs there. The band immediately accepted. A few days later they travelled up to Essex to Gilmour's estate. He showed them into the studio and said there was no need to bring any of their gear in from the van. Hanging on the walls was his collection of vintage Fender, Gibson, Rickenbacker and Martin guitars and underneath them Fender amplifiers and a Premier drum kit. They recorded three songs and Dave added some Fender Pedal Steel Guitar which he had just brought on his last American tour and was learning to play. They were invited back on several occasions to record.
"Unicorn were playing at the wedding reception of an old friend of mine, Rick Hopper," related David Gilmour, "when I first saw them and while I was impressed by their vocal harmonies, their tightness and the fact that it was the drummer that sang the lead vocals, it was the songs themselves that I liked the best. Ken Baker's songs, while firmly seated in the American country rock genre had a very original and unusual wry English feel in the stories he told. The one that really made me notice was 'Sleep Song', about a trip to the dentist. Not a common subject for the popular song. Largely on the strength of this I invited them to my tiny home studio in Essex to record some demos. This was the start of an association that was to cover two and a half albums over the next couple of years."
