The Cab Plan New EP and Tour |
The EP is highlighted by the single, "Take My Hand (Remix)," featuring guest vocals from Hey Monday's Cassadee Pope. The track the original version of which can be found on the Las Vegas-based band's breakthrough 2008 debut, "WHISPER WAR" will be accompanied by a companion video clip, set to premiere in mid-June. "WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS" also gathers exclusive live and acoustic tracks, as well as "Diamonds are Forever (and Forever is a Mighty Long Time)," a b-side from their debut release.
The Cab will celebrate the EP's release with their biggest headline tour to date. The "What Happens In Vegas Tour" kicks off June 18th at Tucson, Arizona's Club Congress, and then continues though a hugely anticipated hometown show at Las Vegas' House of Blues on August 9th. Main support on the tour will be split between The Secret Handshake and The Cab's fellow Decaydance/Fueled By Ramen labelmates, A Rocket To The Moon. Also set to appear on selected dates are such bands as The Summer Set, Eye Alaska, Anarbor, and My Favorite Highway check local listings for details.

Beatles More Popular Than God...father |
The 1964 black-and-white rock 'n' roll comedy scored a whopping 100% Fresh ranking - out of the 70 reviews counted - putting The Fab Four's cinematic debut, directed by Richard Lester, at the toppermost of the poppermost.
While this will no doubt come as sweet news to the millions of Beatles fans around the world, the fact that A Hard Day's Night, a madcap knockabout filmed at the height of Beatlemania, outranks spoolers such as Citizen Kane, The Godfather, Casablanca and other various and sundry masterpieces might be something of a shock.

More Acid Drinkers Reissues Coming |
"High Proof Cosmic Milk" - Acid Drinkers' eighth studio album from 1998, recorded in mid Winter with some of the equipment placed outdoors. The result is extremely hard and heavy, but at the same time very modern, music. The tracks sound very deep, hypnotic, and it is not without a good reason that the press compared them to the newer music of Sepultura. Digipak edition features 4 bonus tracks, including one of the band's most memorable tracks a funky version of "Proud Mary" by Creedence Clearwater Revival.
"Varran Strikes Back Alive!!!" the band's first live album from 1998. The album shows the band with their true live potential. The tracklist includes songs taken from all of their previous albums except for "Fishdick". The new digipak edition includes 3 bonus live tracks.

Tom Brosseau Plans U.S. Tour |
This new buoyant and well-crafted album is a huge stylistic shift away from the spare acoustic arrangements of his previous releases though Brosseau's earnest wit and captivating, vibrato-soaked voice is unchanged.
These songs - and selections from Brosseau's catalog - will be fully realized live by the trio of Brosseau, album co-producer and multi-instrumentalist Ethan Rose, and vocalist/instrumentalist Shelley Short. The ensemble will bring Brosseau's live sound closer to the full-band richness captured on Posthumous Success than previous solo outings.

Brit Pop Meets Indie Rockers keygrip Announce New Release |
Self produced by Di Lalla with the bulk of the mixing done by Scott Solter (Spoon, St. Vincent, Pattern Is Movement) at John Vanderslice's indie-heaven Tiny Telephone studios in San Francisco, vis--vis is full of tranquil melodies, hypnotic grooves and a flowing, visceral dynamic. Five out of the seven songs on the EP were recorded mixed and mastered the old-fashioned way, to analog tape, with no computers involved in the entire process.
keygrip is comprised of brothers Michael Di Lalla (vocals/guitar/keys) & Jared Di Lalla (drums) along with second guitarist Will Salween. To complete the line-up, Di Lalla went straight to the vine and recruited one of his students at the Paul Green School of Rock, where he is an instructor. Ivan Evangelista now helms the bass and the final format of keygrip is solidified.

Oscar G. Releasing Three Disc Set |
At a time when most dance labels are cutting costs, stripping back and going digital only, Nervous Records has their own idea of how to do business in a rough climate offer more! That's the rationale behind Oscar G's whopping new three-disc effort, DJ (dē'jā'). But it's not only offering more, it's offering more of a good thing. Oscar's project comes without the influence or suggestions of hit-making Nervous Records. This is 100% from the mind of Oscar G and offers a comprehensive and honest look at what's made this artist a sensation at home in Miami and via the global dance charts.
Disc 1 features 10 brand new Oscar G original productions. Those familiar with Oscar's chart topping work with Murk partner Ralph Falcon will be surprised by Oscar's new direction. While tracks like "Stuck On You (featuring Stryke)" and "Your Love (Featuring Tamara Wallace)" will appeal to fans of solid vocal house, there's also a surprise in store for those into dance's music minimal side. "Innosence" (offered here as a free download) is a solid piece of minimal 4/4 electronic music wound tightly with all sorts of lovely bleepy things and gorgeous melodies. It's beautiful stuff and the product of Oscar G's recent shift from analog to digital gear.
