Country Singer Rejects Velvet Revolver Job Offer |
At that time Duff McKagan admitted that Jennings could make a good replacement: "Shooter's great, actually," he told CR's Scott Rowley. "That's a good idea. He's does a southern rock thing, but his old band was straight up kinda rock. He's a talented guy man, he's pretty awesome. He would be good."
In a new interview with Classic Rock, Jennings confirms that he was asked but turned the band down. And not just once. [before he returned to his family musical roots, Shooter headed up Stargunn, a popular hard rock band in Los Angeles that had a style similar to Aerosmith meets Buckcherry but with a country kick listen here)and stylistically he would be a good match for Velvet Revolver. His name would also make for a good fit.]

Type O Negative Members Take You To The Seventh Void with Vinnie Paul |
"It's an amazing record," Vinnie recently said. "I mixed the whole thing for the guys. It goes somewhere between Soundgarden meets Black Sabbath meets a little Audioslave, with some Type O thrown in there. It's really nice, dark, sludgy Kenny's vocals are great." Rounded out by bassist Hank Hell (Inhuman) and guitarist Matt Brown (ex-Supermassiv), Seventh Void continues Type O's tradition of slow, heavy riffs and existential lyrics, but with a slightly sludgier, "stonier" flavor.
A CD-release party will be held at the Clubhouse, the Dallas nightclub founded by Vinnie Paul and his late brother, Pantera guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott on the day of release.

Guns N' Roses' 1987 masterpiece Appetite For Destruction altered the landscape of rock and roll forever. I'm Rick James! The Definitive DVD |
Rick James had to be seen to be believed. The outrageous "Super Freak" whose soul-pop-punk-funk continues to rock parties today was infamous for his live performances. Bare chested, sporting long braids and skin tight spandex, James--backed by his Stone City Band--was more exciting and "badder" than any other artist commanding a stage.
In conjunction with the DVD and the reissue of Anthology (Motown/UMe), available April 14, 2009, Rick James' smash hit, "Super Freak," will be predominantly featured in the new VISA commercial, beginning April 2009.

Singled Out: Burn Halo (ex-Eighteen Visions) |
When I was writing the album with Zac Maloy, we were throwing around ideas for subject matter. He brought up the idea of a girl that just gets herself into a lot of trouble. I actually knew a girl just like that with the perfect story to go along with it. I decided I wanted to capture this very common story about the crazy things people will let slide when they are in love.
One of my closest friends was dating a girl for a couple of years. Her entire persona was just one huge lie. As she started to unveil who she really was over the course of a couple years, things started to get a little messy. They were always fighting. Break up then make up the next day. She seemed to get her way and was always lying about something. She started partying really hard, flirting with and hooking up with other dudes. It was a vicious cycle that was never ending.
For some reason, he kept this girl around. Maybe it was the sex. Maybe it was just the fact that she was crazy and that turned him on. Whatever the case, she was a dirty little girl and he was in love.
Hearing is believing! Learn more about the band, check out songs from the album and more all
