Bono Considers Coldplay's Frontman a Wanker |
The star made the remarks during a live interview with Jo Whiley on BBC Radio 1. The presenter asked Bono about a previous comment that had seen him compare Martin to Paul McCartney. He replied: "Yeah, I think he's that good a melodist� I mean, he's a wanker."
After being reprimanded by Whiley for his language, Bono apologised and continued: "Obviously he is a completely dysfunctional character and a cretin but he happens to be a genius melodist and I think up there with Ray Davies and Noel Gallagher and Paul McCartney.

China Bans Oasis As Band Announces Festival Appearance |
Apparently Noel Gallagher appeared at a "Free Tibet" benefit in 1997 and the ChiComs weren't happy about it. So being ChiComs they grabbed their toys and went home pouting. The band isn't too happy about it. "Representatives from the Chinese government have revoked the performance licenses already issued for the band and ordered their shows in both Beijing and Shanghai to be immediately canceled," Oasis said in a statement.
"The Chinese authorities' action in cancelling these shows marks a reversal of their decision regarding the band which has left both Oasis and the promoters bewildered."

Spinal Tap Get Unwigged For 25th Anniversary Tour |
UNWIGGED & UNPLUGGED: An Evening with Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer has the legendary musical and comedic trio performing music from heavy metal's loudest band Spinal Tap along with the folk music from A Mighty Wind, and more. Tickets for the UNWIGGED & UNPLUGGED tour go on sale Friday, March 6th, with the tour starting Friday, April 17th in Vancouver and ending Sunday, May 31st in Milwaukee.
UNWIGGED & UNPLUGGED is not about funny costumes and characters, but rather three long time friends and collaborators who make each laugh and love nothing better than to find some excuse to get together and play music. The trio commented, "With this being the 25th Anniversary of the film This is Spinal Tap, we thought this would be a fun and at the same time, a little challenging, as we have never performed as ourselves. U2 To Release Another Album This Year |
According to the New York Times, a companion album to 'Horizon' could very well be released later this year.
Comprised of material drawn from the same recording sessions, the as-yet-untitled CD will have a "more meditative and processional tone" than 'Horizon.'

Nine Inch Nails and Jane's Addiction Tour Dates |
The tour is reportedly set to kick off on May 25th in Ridgefield Washington. This is the day after both bands appear at the top of the bill for the second night of the Sasquatch! Festival.
According to the rumored dates, the tour will span three months and right now it looks like it was conclude with a July 4th show in Irvine, California.

MTV Games is not boycotting Warner Music Group artists from the "Rock Band" franchise, despite what an article in the current Wired magazine claims, according to sources from both camps. Rather, the impasse is best described as a stalemate. Apparently the label group wants more money to license their music.more

New York Dolls Ready To Rock Again |
The new disc is titled 'Cause I Sez So' and reunites the band with producer Todd Rundgren who was at the helm of the band's debut album way back in 1973.
"It was amazing working with Todd again, and I think we were able to evoke the special sound of our first album and drag it by the hair into the present," frontman David Johansen said in a statement.

The Faces May Reunite After All |
Now it looks as if the reunion could be back on, but if it happens, if won't be a full-scale tour or album project, as was originally talked about.
According to keyboardist Ian McLagan, who spoke to Billboard, the latest idea is that guitarist Ron Wood, drummer Kenny Jones and McLagan do "a couple shows and film it. Whether Rod (Stewart) wants to do that...I'm hoping he'll be into that 'cause it'll be such a lot of fun. It's what the three of us would like Rod to agree to."
