AC/DC Show Turns Violent |
The rock legends were performing a show at the Telenor Arena near Oslo, but concert-goers were forced to endure long traffic jams to get to the venue. The problem got worse after the gig, with stationary traffic and apparent poor transport links leaving many people stranded.
Norwegian website Budstikka.no reports that things soon turned ugly with many fans venting their anger on police officers - throwing bottles at patrol cars and tearing down fences erected to control the crowds.
U2 Coldplay Boyband Killers |
But that is exactly what happened in the early hours of Thursday when the rockers performed on stage with Barlow, and later with U2's lead singer Bono and U.S. band The Killers at a charity show following the BRIT pop awards.
The event was in support of the War Child charity, which aims to protect children living in the world's most dangerous war zones. It has just released a compilation album "Heroes."

Aerosmith Working With Brendan O'Brien On New Album |
"The big news is that we had our first meeting and strategy session with our producer Brendan O'Brien. We've been wanting to work with him for a while. The meeting came on the heels of the band all working together for the first two weeks.
"Things are moving along and it's now on the fast track. We had a day where we all got to listen to everyone's songs and ideas. In the next few weeks we'll be narrowing down what we've got. We can already see things coming into focus - even as new ideas are popping up right and left. Joe survived his knee operation and has obviously done lots of playing during his recuperation."

Coheed and Cambria Boxset |
Good things take time. Originally slated for a March 3rd release, the band was determined to provide their fans with the ultimate package and decided to include additional content to the box set. On March 24th fans will see that it was well worth the wait.
Neverender was originally intended to take place in New York and Los Angeles exclusively. The 15,000 tickets for these shows sold out entirely within an astounding three hours of going on sale. When the band saw how fast all 8 shows sold, they decided to extend the tour to include Chicago and London.
"Neverender came about because we wanted to celebrate the end of the Coheed and Cambria saga in a special way," says Coheed frontman Claudio Sanchez. "We wanted to come up with an idea that paid proper respect to this phase of our career, while at the same time gave our fans something truly unique and different. Many of these songs have never been played in front of an audience before so I think we're going to be freaking out at the same time our fans are. It's going to be a major challenge. We're psyched our fans have been so loyal and amazing. We figured they deserved this."

REPO! Road Tour Diary: Los Angeles |
The original plan was to make the 400-mile drive from Phoenix to Los Angelesour 11th and final stop on REPO Road Tour 3but somewhere along the tour director Darren Lynn Bousman and I decide to fly today instead. This is the 12th straight day of traveling for us and we knew that we'd be exhausted, so the choice of an hour-and-a-half flight vs. a 6-hour drive seemed an obvious one. Especially since L.A. is our hometown, and we'd like to have some energy leftover for tonight's REPO! homecoming.
January 24, 2009.: Many of my closest friends will be at tonight's 10:00pm screening at the Royal Theatre. None of them have experienced REPO! on the road tour. Some of them haven't seen the film at all. I'm curious how they will respond to the hysteria that surrounds a REPO! event. What will they think of fans showing up dressed as REPO! characters? If everybody else is singing-along to the movie, will they join in, or just sit there uncomfortably? How will they respond to seeing me, their dirtbag artist friend, being received as a celebrity? All of this makes me nervous.
And that's if everything goes right. What if tonight is tame compared to the rest of the tour? What ifin typical L.A. fashionpeople in this city regard themselves as too cool to commit to the wonderful REPO! weirdness? What if all the wild and crazy things that my pals have been hearing about the tour don't happen tonight? And it's not just my friends who will be in attendance tonight2 of REPO!'s producers, Mark Burg and Carl Mazzocone of Twisted Pictures, as well as 2 REPO! cast members, Paris Hilton (Amber Sweet) and Ogre (Pavi Largo), are showing up. They too want to see what all the road tour fuss is about. Though the 4 of them are technically "virgins" to the RRT, Darren and I have sent them (and everybody involved with REPO!'s film production) tour email updates and photos, sharing the wild and unorthodox reception to our film. What if they show up tonight and there's silence in the theatre? Now, I'm really nervous.
