High School Delays Van Halen Album |
Guitarist Eddie Van Halen pulled his son out of school in 2007 to tour with the band, as a bassist, when he was just 15 years old. The teenager proved a huge hit and is now a full-time member of the Jump! group. Van Halen wanted to follow the tour with a new studio album, but the band has vowed to wait until Wolfgang has graduated - so he can be a part of it.
Eddie Van Halen tells Hustler magazine, "We're just waiting for the right time. I took Wolfie out of school for a whole year to do the tour. It was just a bad time because the 11th grade is the year when they prep you for college. First he graduates, then we'll sit down, give (frontman) Dave (Lee Roth) a call and see if he feels like whooping and hollering a little bit. I've got a ton of music."

Collective Soul Recording New Album |
The band has been hard at work in frontman Ed Roland's lake house studio for the past few weeks, working on the follow up to 2007's Afterwords. Renowned for their ability to write supremely crafted smash hits, the band is wasting no time in creating a new batch of tunes fit to replicate all of their past successes. Roland says, "We are only 2 weeks in to the recording of our new album and feel more like a band than ever. It's reflected in the music, which we all think is our best material to date."
No strangers to charitable initiatives, Collective Soul is confirmed to headline a special benefit concert for the Save Darfur Coalition, a global organization that represents 130 million people worldwide who have united together to help the victims of Darfur. The concert will take place on Friday, March 27th at the Tabernacle in Atlanta.

Former Eagle Says The Band Refused To Take It To The Limit in Concert |
Ross CAT- While it may be a rarity one of the criticisms of the Eagles music was being over produced and the lack of spontaneity on stage. In the book you talk about the lack of freedom you felt during the bands live performances, tell us about those frustrations as a guitar player not being able to step outside the box?
Don Felder- For me improvisation is what turns me on as a musician. That being said it's not easily attainable and it's not a zone that everyone feels comfortable in. That's not to say you can't be a gifted artist without having the propensity to improvise. A prime example is Don Henley, he has to have a controlled environment as a songwriter and drummer. As a vocalist Don is brilliant and he's one of the most prolific songwriters ever, but his dexterity as a drummer is limited. I love his style but Don tends to keep it simple and contained so it's difficult for him to just jam. While the music of the Eagles is exceptional, every song and every show was literally scripted, that took away the opportunity for myself and Joe Walsh to be spontaneous which was most definitely frustrating at times.

Motorhead Dolls Lacks Balls |
The British star poses in a range of outfits and with different guitars, but Lemmy isn't happy with one detail - they left off his genitals.
The "Ace of Spades" rocker tells Hustler magazine, "I said to the guy who made them, 'Are you gonna put a d--- on it?' He said, 'No.' I said, 'Then it's not going to get very much action, is it? Not very lifelike.' There are three different ones (figures), two different guitars, and there is a silver one as well. I look like a f---ing Oscar."

Nikki Sixx Issues Half Apology For Fan Attack |
"There was a recent event at one of our shows where someone threw a bottle at me during my speech and I got pretty pissed. The way it happened is, I threw a bottle of water to some fans and didn't realize the very bottle I threw to the fans was thrown back at me.
I have to admit, bands get pretty pissed when people throw ---- at you onstage. I didn't even think it was the same bottle, so with that being said, I'd like to say I'm sorry to the fan who threw the bottle back at me. These damn cliches seem to be true, like 'two wrongs don't make a right...'"

Jeff Buckley Biography |
Jeffery Scott Buckley lived a nomadic life that took him from what he once ungenerously called a "rootless trailer trash" upbringing in Orange County, California, to Hollywood, and then New York City. Spiritual curiosity and musical experimentation combined with his naturally ethereal voice to give him an aura of otherness that seemed to preordain him for stardom.
His one and only album, Grace, confirms that promise, but he was to die young, before being able to follow up that first dazzling success. A legendary and influential figure, Buckely was still very much a real human being, and in this stunning new biography, author Jeff Apter unravels the complex and sometimes contradictory evidence of Buckley's life. Friends, peers, enemies, lovers, and collaborators offer their reminiscences to build a compelling picture of one of rock's purest spirits. The contents of Buckley's many personal letters are revealed for the first time, and his struggle with writer's block is explored, as are his battles with the concept of stardom, his desire for escape, and his attempts to deal with the unavoidable legacy of his equally gifted father, Tim Buckley.

REPO! Road Tour Diary: Jackson |
It's 10:00am. Actor Bill Moseley, director Darren Lynn Bousman, tour manager Spooky Dan, & I, return our rental car, and then hop on a shuttle bus en route to Denver's airport, en route to our 9th stop on REPO Road Tour 3: Jackson, Michigan.
January 22, 2009.: A fellow sitting across from us on the bus takes one look at us, this motley crew of REPO! dudes, and asks a questionthe same question that we've been asked in every city of the tour thus far: "Are you guys in a band?" We tell him that we're filmmakers, and about REPO! He seems interested. Bill gives his REPO! DVD (the one that he purchased yesterday) to this stranger, winning what hopefully is another REPO! convert. TESTIFY!
Our 11:30am flight out of Denver is delayed. Worse, our departure is further stalled once we board the plane. Some sort of mechanical error that our pilot monotones about, is keeping our aircraft grounded. Worse yet, I am seated in between 2 very strange individuals.
