The volume, slated for a street date of April 7, 2009, presents Charles' most influential recordings for the Atlantic and ABC-Paramount labels including 1955's "I Got a Woman" plus "Busted," "Georgia on My Mind," "Hit the Road Jack" and "I Can't Stop Loving You," concluding with his signature 1972 rendition of "America the Beautiful." After an action packed 2008 that found the band playing their first U.S. shows, receiving critical acclaim from the likes of The New York Times, Billboard, The Guardian and Dazed and Confused, the band is poised to build on the success with a March 10 re-release of their MYSTERY EP, which has been re-mastered and re-sequenced.
BLK JKS came to the U.S. in the spring of 2008 after a chance meeting with ber-producer Diplo while he was on tour in South Africa. The band's appearance on the cover of the Fader, as well as sets at the Fader issue release party and South by Southwest, sparked recording sessions at New York's famed Electric Lady studios that resulted in the MYSTERY EP. The record was produced by Brandon Curtis of the Secret Machines, who came to BLK JKS as a fan of the band.

Sonny wrote, programmed and mixed virtually the entire Gypsyhook EP. The album will be comprised of brand new and original tracks by Sonny including "Gypsyhook," "Mora" and "Copaface2," as well as a Japanese version of "Mora." It will feature remixes by The Toxic Avenger, DMNDAYS, LAZRtag and Dan Sena with guest programming on "Mora" by Leopold Ross. In addition, the album will include a bonus video for the track "Mora." Sonny's full-length, in stores this spring, will feature duets with Aja of Nico Vega and rapper Sirah. [still no mention of where you know him from]
Sonny's music is a great departure from his past work these songs are electronic, forward-thinking, tribal, dancy and eclectic. [what past work are they talking about?] Above all, this music is full of heart and represents a total artistic world created entirely by Sonny. He is opening another chapter in his life. Something that builds on his past, something that has the energy and urgency of thrash, the texture and consideration of the experimental, the eloquence of the electronic and the shock of the new. [again, what past?]
