Zeppelin Foo Queens Supergroup
Billboard reports: While festival-goers in Chicago have a lot to look forward to at this upcoming weekend's Lollapalooza, the hottest ticket in town and possibly most anticipated act of all won't be at Grant Park.

Them Crooked Vultures, a long-rumored collaboration between Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme, Foo Fighter Dave Grohl and former Led Zeppelin multi-instrumentalist John Paul Jones, is set to stage its first ever show at the celebrated rock club Metro.

Grohl revealed the idea four years ago in an interview with British music magazine Mojo, saying only that he'd be on drums, with Homme and Jones on guitar and bass respectively.

New F***ing Nirvana Controversy
AP reports: The late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain is igniting a new controversy in his hometown of Aberdeen, Wash. This one involves one of the quotes attributed to him on a new granite marker at an unofficial neighborhood park honoring him.

Aberdeen city officials are upset about the quote that says, "Drugs are bad for you. They will f--- you up." The marker contains the full F-word.

The Daily World reports the property is considered a right of way for both Tori Kovach, who lives adjacent to the land and had the idea for the park, and the city, which also owns the nearby Young Street Bridge, where Cobain is said to have spent some time in his youth.

Hendrix Road Rage
Nightwatcher reports: In a brand new exclusive interview by Nightwatcher's House Of Rock with legendary Santana/Journey vocalist/keyboardist Gregg Rolie, the Rock and Roll Hall Of Famer discusses the brand new limited edition live CD from the Gregg Rolie Band 'Rain Dance'. Other topics discussed include his years in Santana and Journey, the possibilities of a reunion by either band, and a near encounter with Jimi Hendrix at the Woodstock Festival in 1969. A short excerpt from the interview follows below :

NHOR : Hendrix was a big fan of the original Santana band. Did you ever meet Jimi? Gregg Rolie : I have a great story about Hendrix. I never really met him, but when we went to go play Woodstock, I was in our truck, and I went swimming every day at this waterhole. I was coming back from it, in our truck, and I got behind somebody in a Corvette doing about 15 miles per hour. I couldn't believe it, and it was on a winding road in Upstate New York. I was honking my horn, and I was really angry. I went by, and looked over, and it was Hendrix. I'm honking and flipping him off, and I went, "Oh my God!" I just kept on going. I'll never forget that. I was like, "Man, he can't drive". (Laughs)

NHOR : And the inevitable question would be, given the hoopla around any major band reuniting these days, what do you feel are the chances of Journey, with you and Steve Perry, reuniting again? Gregg Rolie : I doubt that would happen. Everybody's just kind of moved on, and that's okay. It shouldn't be a big deal. They do what they're doing, and they've got their singer now. Perry... I don't know what he's doing now as a matter of fact. So, I couldn't answer for him. But for me, I love what I'm doing right now, and I would find it very difficult to move away from it. - read the entire interview
