Ben Harper and Relentless7 Preview |
Ben Harper and Relentless7 comprise members Ben Harper, Jason Mozersky, Jesse Ingalls, and Jordan Richardson. White Lies For Dark Times is a timeless rock record, with a cohesive collection of music that is as raw, unrelenting and thunderous, as it is arrestingly haunting and emotional. The band intelligently has one foot in Harper's past while every other limb and appendage reach towards the future. Ben Harper and Relentless7 kicks off their tour on April 30 in Louisiana at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.

Experts on melting faces and frying brains, the L.A. based five-piece have conquered lands far and wide with their unique approach to things often labeled "progressive" and "metal," in effect cutting a swath through pre-existing genre lines. May 5th, 2009 (Radiant's official release date) marks the group's graduation from avant-garde metal leadership to their rightful spot as one of this century's most original and pioneering alternative groups.
This, their fourth album for California-based Ipecac Recordings, stays true to the band's long-standing tradition of experimentation. August Burns Red Again This July |
After a month in the studio with lauded producer Jason Suecof (Sevendust, All That Remains, God Forbid, Trivium), ABR emerged in late March with a blistering album that will make good on the promise of 2007's Messengers an album that, devoid of hype, without any smoke and mirrors, ever-so-quietly sold more than 80,000 copies, as much or more than most of the band's much-hyped contemporaries.
August Burns Red spent the subsequent year conquering fans at Warped Tour, on the Take Action tour and at destinations from Dubai to Dallas, and increased their profile through placement on the movie trailer for "The Spirit." Meanwhile, fans drove August Burns Red's MySpace plays well past the 17 million mark, packed the band's fall 2008 headlining tour which included sold-out venues across the country and flocked to the band's in-studio Stickam site by the tens of thousands to observe the band recording the eagerly awaited new album. Fans' demand for new material also drove the release of a B-sides EP, Lost Messengers: The Outtakes, this past February.

Ice Palace Wrap Recording And Hit The Road |
Wonder Subtly Crushing Us follows Ice Palace's acclaimed 2007 debut album, Bright Leaf Left. The new album is the next phase in the ongoing development of the band's lead singer and songwriter, Adam Sorensen, and the culmination of roughly 20 years of writing and creativity. After assembling some of the best talent in Minneapolis, in some of the most unexpected recording spaces (from Minneapolis' Sound Gallery studio to a bedroom closet), the album was handed to Craig Minowa of Cloud Cult and his Earthology Studio for final mixing and production.
Fifteen years ago, Sorensen and Minowa spent a night of mutual respect writing and recording a song together on a four-track. After years of separate endeavors, the two have re-aligned on this album.
