Evergreen Terrace Plot New Album |
Here's what guitarist Josh James has to say; "Crunch time has now approached us, with just 1 week before we go into the studio. As always, we've given a lot and gone through even more during this writing period. From a member of the band leaving to a death in the family: we have accepted the changes that have come and gone in our lives and it all shows in this next batch of songs. I think this record will surprise the new listeners as well as have the old ones stoked. I'd say its best described as a good mixture of Burned Alive by Time and Wolfbiker, but of course, like every band says, 'it's the best record we've done yet!' If you already hate our band then chances are you'll hate this record, if you already love our band then be prepared to have a new favorite ET record. Regardless, we're stoked."
Musically, Evergreen Terrace takes cues from no other. The band transitions effortlessly from fast, powerful heavy hardcore to melodic punk rock. This has allowed them to tour with a diverse group since their start in late 1999 including As I Lay Dying, Strung Out, Norma Jean, Every Time I Die, Hatebreed, Thursday, Gwar and a spot on the coveted Vans Warped Tour (2008) where the band played with Against Me!, All That Remains, Angels and Airwaves, Cobra Starship, Reel Big Fish, Rise Against, A Day To Remember, and many more.

Nektar Celebrate 40th Anniversary With Release of New Live CD |
The Nektar story is a remarkable one. A British rock band that found stardom and major success in Germany and the USA, yet failed to make the significant breakthrough in their own country. With three gold albums under their belt ("Remember The Future", "Down To Earth" and "Recycled"), Nektar produced some of the most original work of the seventies and eighties. In virtuoso guitarist Roye Albrighton Nektar had a charismatic front man who had shared a stage with Jimi Hendrix, in Allan "Taff" Freeman a unique keyboard player, in Derek "Mo" Moore a bass playing powerhouse and in Ron Howden a fluidity rarely found in a drummer. Fifth member Mick Brockett was not a musician, but was responsible for one of the most stunning light and visual shows ever to grace the rock stage. Nektar's history appeared to have been written when they finally split in the eighties. Despite attempts to re-kindle the flame, the Nektar light, it seemed was out...until that is, the year 2000. The new millenium saw the long awaited reunion tour of the classic line-up, to rave reviews and fantastic receptions. The light we thought was out, had in fact been kept aglow - by loyal fans across the globe! "It's pretty timeless music," says Roye Albrighton, "and what I'm hearing from most of the new, younger fans that are now coming to our shows, is that it's like going back in time. They are starting to really discover music again, which, of course, is a great relief to us and some of the older bands from our time."
An American tour in September 2004 saw Taff Freeman depart the band for personal reasons and his successor, Hammond virtuoso Tom Hughes, instantly earning a place in the hearts of the Nektar faithful. With continued concert dates, along with the remastering of the remainder of the Nektar back catalogue on CD, this legendary band has become once more a proud force to be reckoned with in the world of progressive music. In 2007 Nektar truly took over their own management, procured their official website as their own, entirely under their control and went on a 22-date tour of Germany. Joining Roye and Ron was Peter Pichl on 5-string bass and Klaus Henatsch on keyboards, these two new members from the rock 'n roll city of Hanover, Germany, seemed to gel from the outset and now, along with the release of the critically acclaimed CD 'Book of Days' in 2008 and the new live DBL CD 'Fortyfied', Nektar looks set to make its mark once again.

YouTube Popstar Priscilla Renea Sets Major Label Debut |
A Navy kid who attended more than twenty schools in her adolescence, Priscilla gravitated to choirs and theater groups, winning her first musical theater competitions as a high-schooler, and dreaming of making it on Broadway. Some teenage girls's write in their diaries and lock them with a key; Priscilla poured her heart into songwriting and shared it with a social network of soon-to-be fans. Her debut EP Hello My Apple features three tracks that were among her most popular on YouTube: "I Fell in Love," "Hello My Apple," and "Cry."

Severe Torture Begin Work On New Album |
"Here's a short update to let you all know what's been going on in the Severe Torture camp over the last couple of months. We've actually been working our asses off, writing the finest death metal tunes possible. We have about 6 songs down and riffs and ideas for 4 or 5 more. We'll be finishing those in the next 2 months. Musically it's gonna be one of the fastest, sickest and most brutal Severe Torture records ever! This stuff is gonna be fuelled by the sheer disgust of all the whimpy, lame-ass, fashion-crap that's been polluting the music industry for years. And it made us realize all the more what we love most... Playing brutal f**kin' death metal. The plan is to start pre-production in July and have everything ready for recording in September.
"As far as festivals go we have a pretty laid-back Summer coming up; "Neurotic Deathfest" on May 30th in Tilburg (Netherlands) and "Move Your F**king Brain" in Barcelona (Spain) on the 4th of July. We are exited to play at Neurotic again this year and we can't wait to play Spain again in July. Maybe we'll throw in a new song just to try out, who knows... Check our MySpace in the coming months for more updates and video-previews of the new stuff. It's gonna be brutal!"

Critical Look At New Bob Dylan Release |
Dylan has been on a roll this past decade, staring mortality in the face and wringing memorable music from it. The "Tell Tale Signs" disc of outtakes and reimaginings proved just how sturdy the work is. It also contributes to making "Together Through Life" a letdown.
This is a batch of mostly pedestrian compositions in a bluesy style, with Los Lobos' David Hidalgo's accordion giving several of the cuts a Tex-Mex feel.
