You'll recall Brit is set to stand trial for driving without a valid California license -- a case that has dragged on for a year. Remember, the crazy version of Britney struck a car in August of last year and the cops found she was driving with a Louisiana license in Los Angeles.
Now her lawyer wants the judge to stop the trial, at least for now, because of the conservatorship. According to the docs, she's still not totally with it. Brit is "unable to participate meaningfully in her defense."

For her new album, Miranda composed all of the material, string arrangements, acoustic guitar, piano and Hammond B3 on the disc. It's an album that shimmers with folk, country, psychedelic and even a slight classical influence, balancing her beautiful, close to the heart vocals, with music that has the wide open, spacious feel of a desert sky or an empty church. Light Of X is an album full of love and loss, desolation and salvation, both moody and comforting.

The UK is no doubt going to be experiencing a great live band. The Orange County Register (don't hold this against the band) wrote in a recent review of the group's show with the Fratellis (part of their current tour): "the real excitement this night came from a first encounter with opening act the Airborne Toxic Event, a striking quintet from the Los Feliz area that has been racking up next-big-thing talk from Rolling Stone and the L.A. press all year." [OC Register and Rolling Stone? Ouch! Where is the third strike going to come from? At least PitchDork didn't praise them.]
The Airborne Toxic Event have enormous grassroots support. The band's first single "Sometime Around Midnight" underwent the rarest of occurrences when it was added to rotation at KROQ and Indie 103.1 prior to having a record label or a manager.
