Aimee Mann For the Holidays |
Mann's homage to the holiday variety show of yore has consistently played to sold-out crowds on both the East and West Coast, featuring a mixture of music from One More Drifter in the Snow, a host of comedians ranging from Paul F. Thompkins and Fred Armisan and special drop-in guests including Jackson Browne, John C. Reilly, Amos Lee, Chuck Prophet, Rachel Yamagata, Nellie McKay, Josh Ritter, Ben Lee, Ben Gibbard, Morgan Murphy and fellow singer-songwriter Grant Lee Phillips pitching in as the Grinch along the way. The New York Times describes the holiday pageant as "Delightfula Santa-stupefying balance of naughty and nicewith the giddy warmth of an eggnog buzz. Hangover included of course."
This year Paul F. Thompkins will return to trade off hosting duties will fellow comedian Patton Oswalt. Also confirmed to play are fellow singer-songwriters Nellie McKay, Grant Lee Phillips and comedienne Morgan Murphy. The tour will kick off on the West Coast in San Diego and head up the coast through Los Angeles, San Francisco, and then on to the East Coast for ten dates with multiple shows in the Boston and NY area.

Spend This Christmas with Martha's Trouble |
"The album was recorded long distance with players contributing parts from a number of different locations," says Rob. "We recorded our portion in Auburn, Alabama, some was completed in Asheville, North Carolina, and still other parts were recorded in Houston, Texas. We sent the files back and forth via email." The album was co-produced by Rob and new band member Jacob Blount, who recently joined the group as a guitarist.
The disc will be available online, at shows, and at brick-and-mortar locations such as Barnes & Noble and Borders. Entitled "This Christmas," the album boasts six covers of holiday favorites and two originals.

Iceberg Slim's Reflections Coming To CD |
Produced in 1976 by David Drozen, "Reflections" is the poignant and memorable recording of many of Iceberg Slim's true life experiences. These stories are not easily forgotten and leave their incredible mark on the listener.
Iceberg Slim started to pimp at age 18 in the brutal Chicago underworld, soon becoming rich and successful in the trade. In his writings, he traced the motive behind and tradition of black pimping to the days when American slaves noticed their white owners' physical attraction to and exploitation of black women.
Municipal Waste More Dates |
In addition to the big dates with labelmates Order Of Ennead and fellow Virginians, Lamb Of God, the masters of the Inebriator are looking to bang some heads at these shows:

King Clarentz Soph |
These 13 tracks, laid down with drummer Bobby Lloyd Hicks of the Skeletons in late 2007, are truly true-to-live, and full of the King's unique reflections on topics such as hurricane parties, sex, death, and, of course, Republicans.
"Pea Vine Whistle" and "Empire State" showcase his ability to make even the most traditional songs his own. And "Martha Stewart" and "New GOP" take it even further with modern, witty, yet timeless lyrics. The CD's comic-book-style packaging, designed by renowned visionary San Francisco artist Aaron Farmer, (SF Weekly and Bill Graham Presents/Fillmore Auditorium), illustrates the unique vision behind the words to "Supermodel," which was inspired by one of the King's many trips to 29 Palms, California. A PDF of the comic-booklet is available with full-album downloads on iTunes.
