Coming Home: I wrote this song for my wife -- who was then my girlfriend -- as a Christmas present. I didn't have much money, so I recorded this song for her. She was in Georgia visiting her family, and the song pretty much wrote itself. I came up with the chorus melody on a banjo. I truly missed her, so the song was written quickly and simply, with no attempt at being cute or clever. I hoped she would like it enough to overlook the fact that I didn't buy her anything, and it turned out to be one of our most popular songs.

Cops were called to the Mondrian Hotel in West Hollywood at 4:20 AM, after John Rich got into it with Jerry Montano, a former bassist of the rock band Danzig. It appears someone got whupped, because paramedics responded to the scene at 4:28 AM. We're told one of the dudes was treated for a bloody nose but no one was transported to the hospital.
Cops say they're investigating the incident but no arrests have been made -- at least so far. Neither guy wanted to press charges against the other.

It's been over five years since we've played in arenas in Europe and we can't wait to visit again, so with that said, we have a ton of shows planned in 2009. Strap in, hang on, and get ready for the nuttiness to begin as we roll them out for you a few at a time over the next few days.
Some other details: these shows are 'in the round', so that means general admission standing on the floor, reserved seating off the floor. There are some exceptions . . . shows in Copenhagen will be all general admission, for example.

In an interview with EQTV, Brain revealed how more than $300,000 was spent over a seven-month period on redoing drum bits note for note after Josh Freese left the band. Brain claims that he now holds the record for the duration that a single drum kit had been set up in any one recording studio.
"I think it was five years that my drums were set up at the Village Recorders in Los Angeles," Brain said. "It was five years and it went through three different producers. It went through Sean Beaven, Roy Thomas Baker and then I guess Axl is the producer now. Five years my drums were set up."
