Two Cow Garage Hit Charts With Indie Store Only Release
PR reports: Columbus, Ohio-based Two Cow Garage are celebrating the release of their fourth full-length, "Speaking In Cursive" (Suburban Home Records), and with the celebration comes some great news: for the first time in the band's history, they have made the Billboard charts, charting #143 on the Top New Artists chart.

"I am really excited to announce that Two Cow Garage's 'Speaking In Cursive' has charted on Billboard's Top New Artist Chart," says Suburban Home Records' president, Virgil Dickerson.

"Two Cow Garage charted at #143. This is the first time that one Suburban Home artist has charted on the Billboard Charts. Thanks to everyone that picked up a copy from us, from a mom and pop retailer, or from a digital retail destination. I guess what makes this even more incredible is that we don't currently have our releases in any big box retailers or even national chains, opting instead to work with Independent retailers and distributors."

Is it any good? Our very own Gary Schwind gave it 5 stars! - Read his review here.

Iced Earth Tour
Chipster reports: Back in the mid-late '90s, when everyone was declaring that 'metal was dead,' guitarist Jon Schaffer and his band, Iced Earth, refused to acknowledge the naysayers, and were one of the few metal bands of the era to proudly continue on their metal path. As a result, Iced Earth has built an enormous and dedicated following throughout the world, and this year, issued their tenth studio album overall, 'The Crucible of Man: Something Wicked Part II.' Spending the summer touring in support of the album alongside such metal legends as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Kiss, Iced Earth is prepared to bring their show back to the U.S. in November, for a string of special shows.

"I am very much looking forward to the next leg of the North American 'Crucible'," says Schaffer. "We have been working pretty much non-stop since May, and there's no better way to end the year than with a healthy dose of METAL! Meeting the Minions [referring to Iced Earth's fan club, 'The Minions of the Wicked'] before and after the shows has been a great experience. I started this band as a vehicle for my songs, and the fans that truly 'get' Iced Earth - and the way of life that surrounds it - are the reason I am still out there. The energy between the band and the fans is something that is very dear to my heart." - more on this story

Gurf Morlix Taking Last Exit to Happyland
conqueroo reports: Gurf Morlix, who has worked as producer, guitarist and multi-instrumentalist for some of America's greatest artists, is getting set to release his own fifth album, Last Exit to Happyland on the Rootball Records label on February 17, 2009.

Tempting as it may be, don't just judge Morlix by the company he keeps, even if it does provide a fine starting point: Lucinda Williams, Warren Zevon, Patty Griffin, Michael Penn, Buddy Miller, Mary Gauthier, Tom Lauderdale, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Robert Earl Keen, Tom Russell, Jim Lauderdale and Slaid Cleaves, to name but a few. Instead, a listen to Last Exit to Happyland should demonstrate why his blue ribbon associations have led Morlix to a similar level of excellence as singer/songwriter and artist in his own right.

"If anybody is still looking for a candidate to replace Robbie Robertson of The Band, look no further," write Henry Cabot Beck in Amazon.com. "Morlix can write, sing, produce and play nearly every instrument and has a bottomless range of American musical idioms from which to draw."

Push Play For The Homeless
PR reports: After participating in this year's annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on the HESS "Bridge to the Future" float on Thursday November 27th and performing a concert at the Patchogue Theatre on Friday November 28th to release their limited edition holiday album "DEAR SANTA", you might think it would be time for Push Play and their team to rest and enjoy the holiday weekend, right?

Wrong. "As part of their continuing Push Play for Purpose effort, Push Play will spend the Saturday of Thanksgiving Weekend giving out 1000 Push Play sweatshirts to the homeless in Manhattan.

"Breaking all barriers as the only unsigned band to continue making a difference day after day, they plan to walk the streets from dawn to dusk giving back whatever money made made thus far in merch sales and buying sweatshirts for the homeless with the proceeds." said co-manager Sue Baran. - more on this story

Eternal Descent Tap Eddie Kramer for Soph Album
PR reports: Eternal Descent, the up-and-coming industrial/metal/goth band from London, UK, announced today that legendary producer Eddie Kramer, famed for his work with artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and Kiss, will be overseeing production and engineering their second album.

Kramer explained, "I'm excited to be working with such great creative and energetic artists. Eternal Descent reminds me of "The Garden of Earthly Delights"; particularly the sinners panel! The project is indeed a challenging one as it encompasses all of the skills both myself and the artists have learned. We will need to be at the top of our game to make it a reality. The scope of this recording appeals right to the core of my production and engineering skills."

Rob Sutherland, the Eternal Descent second guitarist who worked with Kramer on a previous project remarked, "It's such an honour to be working with Eddie. His musical skill is of such a high level that it's just awesome to know that he will be guiding us through this behemoth of a recording".

As well as producing and mastering the album, Kramer will also be co-orchestrating the arrangement of orchestral parts, based on scores by Eternal Descent mastermind Llexi Leon.
