Bryan Adams Offers To Shoot Obama
antiMusic reports: Bryan Adams new studio album, 11 hits Wal-Mart stores and Sam's Club nationwide exclusively today (5/13). On another front, after successful shooting Hillary Clinton, Adams has now offered to shoot Obama. Before you call the Secret Service, he's talking about shooting him with his camera. He's also has a ton of tour dates lineuped. First here is the "official" info on the shooting:

Adams is also an acclaimed photographer whose work is currently on display as the official lensman for Hear the World (www.hear-the-world.com), a global initiative that raises awareness about the importance of good hearing and the impact of hearing loss. The exhibit opened in New York on May 1, then will travel to Berlin and Zurich in June.

One of Adams' most viewed photographs is a recent portrait of Senator Hillary Clinton, which is currently being used as a campaign poster. "I'm flattered that Senator Clinton would use one of my images for such an important time in American politics," says Adams. "As a Canadian and an impartial observer, I'd be pleased to take Senator Obama's portrait." - more on this story

Suge Knocked Out in Bar Fight
TMZ reports: How the mighty have fallen -- literally! Suge Knight was hit so hard by a man last night at the Shag nightclub in Hollywood, he lost consciousness.

Lowdown: A TMZ source was there last night [Sat], and witnessed Suge talking to a guy -- and the convo was friendly enough at first. Then it turned. Suge shouted, "I want my money!" Suge then rushed the guy with the help of his posse, and began hitting and kicking him. Get this -- during the fight, Suge put a random guy in a headlock, demanding his cellphone.

People outside the club broke up the fight, and as the beatee got up, he landed a right hook to Suge's face, knocking him out cold. We're told Knight was out for nearly three minutes. - more on this story

Motley Crue Delay Album to Record New Song
antiMusic reports: Motley Crue have pushed back the release of their new album, 'Saints of Los Angeles,' a week so they could go back into the studio to record a new song for the effort. The "official" reasoning for the move is that the band felt "inspired" by the other bands that are taking part in Crue Fest.

A cynic might conclude that they went back to the drawing board to produce a new song with bigger hit potential, as has been known to happen from time to time in rock n roll. The title track from the effort has reached No 10 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart after 3 weeks.

Motley bassist Nikki Sixx discussed the new track in a press release, "Before our performance at the press conference, we were firing on all cylinders at sound check just jamming out, and that's when the new idea came. We quickly laid it down and went to the studio to record it, and liked it so much we pushed back the release one week so that we could get it onto the album it now has 13 tracks. It's the ultimate song to end the record with and begin the new chapter of our career." - more on this story

Led Zeppelin World Tour
antiMusic reports: Could it finally be happening? Gigwise seems to think so: Led Zeppelin will mark their 40th anniversary with a 250million world tour, according to reports. Calls for the band to reform for a full world tour have been relentless since they played a one-off show at the O2 Arena in London last December.

Yesterday (May 9th), David Coverdale, the frontman of Whitesnake and a long-term friend of the band, said the tour was "very likely".

"I'm expecting a call from Jimmy any day asking my band Whitesnake to support them on their world tour. Am I on board? You bet. Probably worth billions," he said. - He later denied these statements

Metallica Recording Epic Songs, Plan Behind The Scenes Site
antiMusic reports: Three news rumblings on the Metallica front. A Metallica fansite ran into the band's former producer Bob Rock who filled them in a bit on the new album, plus Lars spoke to a radio station to give a little more details on what fans can expect from MissionMetallica.com, and the band announced their participation in a benefit show that's being organized by Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

First Encycmet.com has a cool story about running into the band's former producer Bob Rock at a movie theatre. Here is part of what they had to say about the encounter, " [Bob Rock] says that he actually just spoke to Lars and that he's heard 8 of the new songs and that they are: around 8 minutes long, have really long solos, and that the songs sound awesome and very old-school!! I ask him if we'll hear some new songs during the upcoming summer tour, and he says that we should actually hear the first SINGLE in a matter of weeks." read the full report

Encycmet.com also reports: Lars Ulrich told a Los Angeles radio station on Monday that the new site, MissionMetallica.com, will showcase a "making-of-the-album" like what was available on the DVD in the St.Anger package.. Ulrich explained, "We thought, instead of doing the DVDs and all that, why don't we just do it on the Internet and people can kind of tune in every day, watch clips, contests, get updates for what's going on with the record and kind of watch the last couple of months of song titles, album titles, final mixes...So it's kind of a little bit of a countdown type of thing. It should be fun." - full report

Get Blitzed With Sweet
antiMusic reports: We told you about the return of Sweet last week, but we got some new info in including the line-up and initial dates. They also just booked an appearance on KLOS's Mark & Brian program on June 5th. We were pleased to learn that longtime antiMusic friend Stuart Smith will be handling guitar duties. Here is the info:

Popular rock band Sweet led by bassist /vocalist Steve Priest will begin their "Are You Ready Steve?" 2008 tour their first in many years, it was announced today. The original Sweet was formed by Priest along with vocalist Brian Connolly, drummer Mick Tucker and guitarist Frank Torpey (later replaced by Andy Scott) in the UK and rose to fame with such hits as Ballroom Blitz, Fox on the Run, Love is Like Oxygen, Little Willy, Hellraiser, Teenage Rampage, Blockbuster, Action and many others. The 2008 Sweet tour will be a tribute to Connolly and Tucker whose tragic deaths were terribly pre-mature.

The Are you Ready Steve? Tour kicks off June 12 at The Whisky in Hollywood, with guitarist Stuart Smith, singer Joe Retta, drummer Richie Onori and keyboardist Stevie StewartPriest's reconfiguration plans to revisit all the historic Sweet spots, including Blockbuster, Action, Hellraiser and Teenage Rampage." - more on this story

John Mellencamp Set For Life, Death, Love and Freedom
PR reports: John Mellencamp's eagerly anticipated new album, Life, Death, Love and Freedom, produced by T Bone Burnett, will be released July 15 by Hear Music at Starbucks Company-operated locations in the U.S. and Canada as well as traditional music retail.

Mellencamp has characterized the album as a collection of "modern electric folk songs." With backing from his legendary touring band, the album's 14 tracks were recorded at his studio in Bloomington, Indiana and mixed in Los Angeles with Burnett behind the boards for all of the sessions. Mellencamp cites Burnett's production as key to "finding the soul of each song." As far as singing to Hear Music is concerned, he noted, "In today's business environment, each artist needs to pursue his own path and determine what works best. For me, Hear is the right way to go for this album. I'm glad to be working with a team of open minded people who seem to be interested in what the music is about and what it sounds like."

The album will be the first ever release in the ΧΟΔΕ (CODE) format. T Bone Burnett and his team of engineers developed CODE, a proprietary audio technology that creates high-definition audio files that are virtually indistinguishable from the original master tapes. The resonance, warmth and presence that has been realized with CODE is unprecedented in the digital era. The CODE version of "Life, Death, Love and Freedom" is a DVD that will come packaged with a standard CD version of the album, available at all retail outlets, at no additional cost to the consumer. The CODE disc is playable on virtually all DVD machines including stand-alone players and drives integrated into computer systems. The DVD's content can be copied into most computer music software including iTunes and can, then, be downloaded onto personal music players such as the iPod. The standard CD is included to answer all possible compatibility questions. Mellencamp commented, "When T Bone introduced me to CODE, it was a remarkable experience. I could hear the music the way it was intended to be heard. I'm very happy the people are going to be able to share this experience in a way that's so true to our original intent." - more on this story

Guns N' Roses Guitarist Explains It All
antiMusic reports: Guns N' Roses guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal was recently interviewed by Live-Metal.net and discussed a host of issues including his new solo album, how he landed the gig with Guns N' Roses and gave fans an update on "Chinese Democracy". Here are a couple of excerpts from the conversation:

Live-Metal.net: When do you think you will be releasing [your new solo album] "Abnormal"? Bumblefoot: Well, I would like to get it out there as soon possible. It's a plus and a minus that I am doing things all by myself. It's a plus in the sense that I don't have to organize and wait and work it out. I can just put it out as it comes out, which is also a minus because there is no big bang when it comes out. Suddenly it is just there, but I kinda like that. So I am just making it available as I can and hopefully people will discover it and they have the option of deciding whether they like it ot not when it is there.

Live-Metal.net: A lot of people might have become familiar with you by way of GUNS N' ROSES. How did your involvement with the band come about? Bumblefoot: It was about four years ago that we started talking. Joe Satriani recommended me and then I got a funny email from Chris Pitman, the keyboard player, and we all just started talking. It took a minute for us to get it together but we started touring in 2006. We just started jammin' and the next thing you know we are doing it in front of people, then we are doing it in all different places, then I am laying guitar tracks on the album and then here we are in New Jersey!

Live-Metal.net: Do you ever tire of being asked what is slowly turning into the million-dollar rock journalism question, "When is 'Chinese Democracy' going to be released?" Bumblefoot: How can you not ask that question? It's like, "Doesn't anyone notice that elephant in the room?!" We have new management and they are good guys, and it's in negotiations. - read the full interview

Lit Cancer Battle
antiMusic reports: Lit posted the following on their Myspace page earlier this month: We are sad to have to be writing you all this letter. Our brother, Allen Shellenberger, is currently in the hospital undergoing testing and treatment for a brain tumor that was just discovered. We are still not sure what his prognosis is and we are all standing by and waiting for test results to come in. Please say a prayer and keep him in your thoughts.

Unfortunately, we will not be able to make the shows this week in the UK and Europe. We were all so excited to come. At this point we have to just stay put and be by Allen while he goes through this difficult time. We will make it up to you as soon as we can. We know some fans who made travel plans from other countries to see us and we apologize for the inconvenience. Our West Coast dates right now are on hold until we know what is going on.

We will post another update soon. Allen sends his thanks for the well wishes and he's sorry we had to cancel these shows. We'll be showing Allen the Lit myspace page with your comments of support. Thanks for your understanding. [our thoughts and prayers go out to Allen and his family, you can post your comments to him - here]

Miley Cyrus Gets Playboy Offer and May Sing With Pulp Fiction Star
antiMusic reports: Seems that everyone wants a piece of Miley Cyrus these days. Of course, her Disney show had a rating drop after the now infamous Vanity Fair photoshoot. But she does have other options once that well runs dry. We learn that John Travolta wants to make music with her and Hugh Hefner wants her to finish what she started with Vanity Fair.

TMZ has the Playboy story: Hugh Hefner doesn't get what the big deal is about 15-year-old Miley Cyrus showing a little skin. The Playboy founder told "Extra" (via NY Daily News) that he's open to having Miley really bare all and stop being a tease when she turns 18.

And Marc Malkin of E! Online has the Travolta story: "Not only are they both voicing characters in the upcoming animated flick Bolt, but Travolta's wife, Kelly Preston, tells me they could be making music together. 'Johnny may sing with Miley,' Preston said at last week's Step Up Women's Network's Inspiration Awards luncheon at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel." - Which offer should she take?
