Emmanuel Jal Week: Day 2 "Vagina"
antiMusic reports: This week we have a Day in Rock first as a hip-hop artist gets the spotlight. But Emmanuel Jal is no normal hip-hopper, as you'll soon discover when he tells us the stories behind the songs of his new album "Warchild". Emmanuel uses his music to touch upon on real subjects from his incredible journey in life from being a child soldier in Africa to the recording studio. "Warchild" hits stores next week, but this week will give us a preview of what we can expect from the album. We'll now turn it over to him for today's song:

Vagina: This song was inspired by some of the trading issues facing Africa, for example oil, gold and diamonds. One of the main reasons that conflict is killing my people in Sudan is the ongoing demand and trade of oil, so myself, Roachie my producer and Jah Miracle, came together, sat down in the studio and said let's write down the truth. And that's how the track Vagina was born.

As you can see this isn't your everyday hip-hop. Even if you don't like rap you can agree that he has something far more important to say than his contemporaries. You can learn more about Emmanuel's incredible story, preview some tracks from Warchild, find out where to see him live and more at his - Myspace page.

Disturbed Prevents Suicides
antiMusic reports: When it comes time for Disturbed to release a video, it can't just be a regular video. Not when the song carries a personal heavy meaning for David Draiman. So the band's new video has a good cause behind it. Here is what their PR firm sent over: Disturbed have just unveiled their video for "Inside the Fire," the first single from the forthcoming, Indestructible, which hits stores June 3rd.

The video was directed by Nathan "Karma" Cox who has also helmed videos for Bleeding Through and HIM among others. Both the lyrics of "Inside the Fire" as well as the video's storyline tell the real life tale of a suicide that personally affected Disturbed vocalist, David Draiman.

Knowing the pain and sensitive nature of the subject Draiman precedes the video with a public service announcement for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. The video can be seen - here

A Clockwork Jagger
antiMusic reports: A Clockwork Orange is one of the greatest novels of the 20th century and ended up one of the greatest films ever! But imagine for a moment is Mick Jagger had played the lead in the film instead of Malcolm McDowell. Strange as that sounds it was a possibility. And the Fab Four almost got involved too!

Gigwise has the story: Members from rock and roll music's two biggest bands wanted to contribute to the movie A Clockwork Orange, according to a letter from the film's executive producer.

Writing to John Schlesinger, who was considering directing the film, Si Litvinoff said that the Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger wanted to play the psychotic criminal, Alex. He also revealed that The Beatles had shown an interest in writing the score for the film.
