Keith Sweat Listening Party |
The original "new jack" hitmaker, who celebrated 20 years as a chart artist at the end of 2007, produced and cowrote most of the material on his latest project which features guest artists Keyshia Cole, and Athena Cage (Keith's duet partner on the million-selling 1996 hit "Nobody").
The Harlem-born singer/songwriter and producer says he called his new album JUST ME "because I'm giving the people what they expect from me. You hear other artists out here who make the mistake of trying to be trendy. They really try to keep up. I know people want to hear Keith Sweat. I'm conscious of the people who have followed me the whole time, since day one. I remember that I have a fan base and I'm very careful to give the people what they expect from me."
Limp Bizkit Retirement Plan |
We can understand paying that much for lessons from someone like Neil Peart, but John Otto? But what we really want to know is: if a hot woman wants instructions, will he do it all for the nookie? Ok, on with the details courtesy of Blabbermouth: Limp Bizkit/The Killer And The Star drummer John Otto has decided to share expertise with the world by offering private lessons. All beginner lessons are one instructor to 1-2 students per lessons.
Students are carefully matched according to age, skill level, and musical goals. Pairings will be evaluated and regrouped monthly to provide the best learning situation. Lessons range in price from $150 (beginner lessons with John Otto, 1-2 students per lesson) to $200 (private lessons one-on-one with John Otto).

Snoop To Show Lindsey Lohan How To Do It Doggy Style |
You see Lindsey needed some "cred" for her third album, since the last two were pretty much panned by everyone in the universe, including aliens from the planet Celebutard who usually eat up anything tabloid superstars toss out.
So Lohan has reportedly called upon a string of acclaimed urban producers to help her with the album. Snoop is the latest knob-twister rumored to be helping Lindsey in the studio. Other producers reportedly linked to this future "album of the year" include Timbaland and Pharrell Williams.

Hendrix Camp Responds to Sex Tape |
"We, Experience Hendrix, the family company of Jimi Hendrix are aware of the release of the adult videotape which alleges to contain illicit footage of Jimi Hendrix. We strongly dispute the claimed authenticity and affirmatively state that Experience Hendrix is neither involved in, nor have we authorized the distribution of this film. Further, we deplore this unsubstantiated exploitation of Jimi Hendrix.
"We view the release as nothing more than a callous attempt to trade on the image and reputation of a deceased artist who is unable to defend himself against such an outrageous and baseless assertion. We are highly offended by the disgraceful portrayal.

Finally Reuters had this one, which might spell the end of a handy promotional tool the labels had to turn people on to new music by offering previews of music at various websites. ASCAP just wants to get paid. Of course, if the online companies stop previewing the music, ASCAP members won't earn royalties on the extra sales generated by the previews. Great lose lose! Here is the AP story: Time Warner Inc's AOL unit, RealNetworks and Yahoo Inc could stand to pay up to $100 million in royalties owed to thousands of songwriters and publishers, after a federal judge established a formula for determining the payments.
