Dio To Ride For Dime

Blabbermouth reports: DIO has been announced as the headliner of the fourth annual Ride For Dime charity concert which benefits Little Kids Rock.

The show will take place on Saturday, August 16 at an as-yet-undisclosed venue. Also scheduled to appear are HABIT OF FORCE, BLOOD OF THE SUN, HELL GOAT and PUMPJACK.

Ride For Dime (RFD) is an annual charity remembrance ride and concert event held in memory of the victims of the December 2004 Alrosa Villa shooting � "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, Jeff Thompson, Nathan Bray and Erin Halk. It is in the spirit in which Darrell Abbott lived his life, his contributions and love for music that Ride For Dime was organized. - more on this story

The Receiving End of Sirens No More

antiMusic reports: On Tuesday, The Receiving End of Sirens took to their Myspace page to announce that they are calling it a day. Here is what Brendan had to say: Greetings to all who take the time to read this letter. I suppose the typical, and most obvious sentiment to express is the one I am undoubtedly feeling at the moment: "I'm not sure how to start this." So for the sake of brevity, I'll get right to the point. The Receiving End of Sirens will no longer exist in the way it has for the past 5 years.

I, Brendan, must admit that I am the main reason why TREOS is ending. My choice to no longer continue on with The Receiving End of Sirens has nothing to do with a lack of love for my band, and/or band members. It has nothing to do with a lack of passion for our music, or any music for that matter. My decision is due mostly in part to a huge rearranging of priorities in my life, and the unquestionable responsibility that comes along with becoming a father. January 15th my wife and I welcomed Parker Brown, our first child, into the world. Since then everything has changed. - more on this story

Candlebox Previewing New Songs On Tour

PR reports: Candlebox is back and will be playing four west coast dates over the course of the next week where the band will be debuting new material from their forthcoming new record, out on Silent Majority this July.

Kevin, Peter and Scott will give fans a first listen to multiple new Candlebox tracks plus, they will perform favorites like "Far Behind," "You," "Change," "Cover Me," and more.

Binary Code Find Their New Voice

antiMusic reports: Binary Code made a big announcement on Tuesday that they have finally found their new voice. Here is what they had to say: We made our decision recently to close auditions, and choose our new singer. Cody Louis of Cliffside Park, New Jersey has joined the ranks of the Binary Code.

There were many GOOD prospects, however, Cody's attitude, personality, musical devotion, musical background, and musical abilities exceeded our expectations greatly. Cody has a wealth of knowledge in Music Theory, Vocal Study, Piano Study, and a great deal of recording and live performance. His addition to the band has made us feel better than ever, and we promise you the new tunes will blow you away. We will be playing with Cody starting Monday in NYC on the 24th of March w/ Biclops and Syrens at the Lit Lounge (info on the page). Cody and the Binary Code will post a demo of new material VERY soon. So keep an eye out.

Aimee Mann Doesn't Like Smilers

antiMusic reports: Aimee Mann rejoice, Billboard has some great news for you: Mann's seventh album, "@#%&! Smilers," will arrive June 3 via her own SuperEgo Records.

"The sound is a little bit different for me," Mann told Billboard.com. "It's got a lot of Moog (synthesizer) on it (and) sometimes almost sounds like the Cars a little bit. From song to song, everything gets a different treatment."

Hermano Set US Oneoff

PR reports: Hermano has scheduled its sole US show for Saturday, March 29 at A1A in Lexington, Ky. With its members scattered across the country, one-off shows are virtually impossible for Hermano, and the band tours infrequently, making this show a truly special opportunity for fans to experience Hermano live.

Thrust Moment Ink with Glasstone

PR reports: Thrust Moment from Finland have signed to Glasstone Records. TM have released two previous self-releases, Parallels and Rumour Has It... Tyga Gets A Little Help From Friends and Family

PR reports: Tyga, who recently signed with Decaydance, got some big support from his cousin Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes and pal Pete Wentz this weekend. Both were not only on the set in Woodland Hills, CA while Tyga shot his first music video for his single "Coconut Juice" but both will also make cameo appearances in the video.

Tyga's album "No Introduction" features production from Patrick Stump (Lupe Fiasco), S*A*M/Sluggo (Gym Class Heroes) and Stress (Ghostface Killah). It will be released this Spring.
