"The story is a lie," the hip-hop mogul said in a statement Monday. "It is beyond ridiculous and completely false. Neither (the late rapper Notorious B.I.G.) nor I had any knowledge of any attack before, during or after it happened.
"I am shocked that the Los Angeles Times would be so irresponsible as to publish such a baseless and completely untrue story." The Times said its story was based on FBI records, interviews with people at the scene of the 1994 shooting.

Written while frontman David Gedge was living in Los Angeles, El Rey burns with West Coast sunlight; Hollywood seen through the eyes of a gritty British Northerner. Speaking about El Rey in MOJO Magazine recently, Gedge said: "I've been living in West Hollywood for the last year or so, and while I'm not going to claim that this is my 'L.A.' album, there are some references. I suppose the themes are lust, jealousy, betrayal, regret, obsession, super-heroes. the usual. We chose to record with Steve this time because the new songs were sounding very guitar-ry and quite dark. It's been good. As you'd imagine, really; Albini knows his stuff."
TWP returned from an eight-year hiatus in early 2005 with the release of Take Fountain.

The documents, filed by Hannah Montana's parents Leticia and Billy Ray, indicate the reason for the name change as "Destiny Hope Cyrus has been commonly known as Miley Cyrus since she was a young child. The Change of Name is requested to make her commonly used name the same as her legal name." [They left out that is also rights the cruel injustice of her silly birth name.]
It had been previously reported that her name was officially changed -- not so. In addition to filing these documents, she must publish a public notice of the change. Then she can officially start signing checks as Miley Cyrus.

Like most completely implausible concepts, this one has its ups and downs, but no one actually believes this is ever going to happen, right? Well, Washington Post blogger Kim Hart actually sees some future in the idea.
The new idea on the table: Internet service providers would tack a small fee ($5 for example) onto monthly bills for broadband connections. The money would then go to the music industry to help compensate labels, performers, song-writers and other artists for music shared online.

In the order issued by Commish Scott Gordon, he notes that disso queen Laura Wasser charged Brit $164,972 in legal fees. Remember, Wasser handled the case for 10 months. She's the one who handled the divorce and fought for joint custody and dealt with Brit during the meltdown.
Check this out. After Wasser quit, Brit Hired Trope and Trope to rep her. On Tropes watch, Brit lost custody and visitation. Their bill for five months -- $685,985.22 (the 22 cents is a killer). In fairness, Brit's craziness made it impossible for the Commish to do anything but strip her of custody. But seriously, $685,985.22???!!!

Sorrow Be Gone, the band's second release, is spearheaded by a grin-inducing interpretation of The Who's classic rock cornerstone "Pinball Wizard," which will likely focus 15 minutes worth of attention on the band. Which is hopefully enough time for the band's thoughtful original songs to sink in.
