Gary Reynolds and the Brides of Obscurity Week: Day 5 |
Everybody's Somewhere: This song came together in two parts. I had originally written the main electric piano riff on guitar. I thought it was pretty good but the B part of the song was going nowhere. When I was writing, "Where do we go from here" there was this "Beach Boys" sounding part that I really liked but wasn't really working for the song. So I transposed it and stuck it on the riff to "Everybody's somewhere". I'd always wanted to do a song where I got to bang on a Wurlitzer note like that old Queen song "you're my best friend" so I switched the song to keys.
