Fleetwood Mac To Tour as Sheryl Eats Crow |
Buckingham -- who releases "Gift of Screws" on Sept. 16 via Warner Bros. and begins a solo tour Sept. 7 in Saratoga, Calif. -- tells Billboard.com that Fleetwood Mac will convene in January to begin rehearsing for the tour, whose itinerary is currently being assembled. It will be the group's first outing since promoting the "Say You Will" album in 2003 and 2004.
Contrary to previous reports, however, the Fleetwood Mac tour will not include Sheryl Crow, who spoke of the possibility of being part of the group while promoting her most recent album, "Detours."

Tie-dye might be more appropriate.
On the day Jerry Garcia would have turned 66, the venerable orchestra will welcome more than 2,000 Deadheads to the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall for the world premiere of "Dead Symphony No. 6," the first orchestral work inspired by the music of the Grateful Dead.

Slightly Stoopid Tailgate Party |
For over a decade now, Slightly Stoopid has been supplying its fans with tunes that have served as the perfect summer soundtrack and ultimate live party. So it should be fitting that the group that has been led from the beginning by Kyle McDonald and Miles Doughty (who share vocal/guitar/bass duties) - take it to the stage this dog day season for Tailgate 2008 Summer Tour, kicking off in Las Vegas on August 1 and playing some two dozen cities across the country before they wrap up on September 6 in their hometown of San Diego, CA.
This will be the band's first-ever sole headlining trek of amphitheatres and will feature Pepper and reggae legends Sly & Robbie. And let's not forget the arrival of the group's tenth release overall - the odds and ends collection "Slightly Not Stoned Enough to Eat Breakfast Yet Stoopid" which was released July 22 on the group's newly formed label, Stoopid Records.

Holly Golightly & the Brokeoffs Plot American Invasion |
The new, self-produced album was recorded in five days during the middle of a 50-date tour in the town of Gijon on Spain's northern coast, at an analog studio called Circo Perrotti, which is outfitted with vintage recording gear and dedicated to discerning production values.
Their music is a lo-fi stew of blues, country and rockabilly, at once avant-garde and old-timey. As Playboy.com says, "Golightly's songs are so fresh and timeless they could have been recorded yesterday or 40 years ago." Entertainment Weekly called her "a truly appealing tunesmith." And BarnesAndNoble.com deemed her "ready for her above-ground closeup."
Ten Shekel Shirt Jubilee in August |
As an artist, he's a gifted singer, songwriter and bandleader who evokes comparisons from Snow Patrol to Coldplay to Peter Gabriel for his richly textured music, emotive singing and thoughtful lyrics and who's already sold 150,000 copies of his first two albums.
As an abolitionist, he's a committed crusader who interrupted a successful musical career to co-found Love146, a non-profit organization dedicated to help end child slavery and exploitation. Not content to simply write songs about the issue or put on benefit concerts, he created a way to make an actual impact.

Grant Peeples Returns |
"It was like I left the house for a while," explains this seasoned Americana artist, "and when I came back some of the furniture had been stolen and the rest had been moved all around."
Grant's new release, 'It's Later Than You Think,' his second record since his U.S. homecoming, speaks in a clean, brooding Americana sound, and captures the friction of his re-entry into American culture and society.
