Opiate For the Masses Week: Day 5 "Burn You Down"
antiMusic reports: This week industrial metal heavyweights Opiate for the Masses' new album 'Manifesto' hits stores at long last via Century Media records. To celebrate the release we asked frontman Ron Underwood to pick his favorite tracks from the effort and tell us a little bit about each one. Here is Ron with today's song:

Burn You Down- This song is the first single from "Manifesto" and despite its odd production, it was the obvious choice. I had the music worked out entirely on an acoustic guitar before anybody else had heard it and it just stuck with me. It didn't matter what lyrics I chose for the chorus; the melody sold it for me. I couldn't get it out of my head, so the rest was just details. A lot of the impact of the verse can be owed to Prodigy's "Spitfire" where the first downbeat just tears your face off, and then there's a lot of space. I wanted to take that idea turn it upside-down. - more of this story

Cops Lied About Saving David Lee Roth's Life?
antiMusic reports: You would think a story coming from cops would be legit, but it turns out the cops that claimed to have saved David Lee Roth's life may have made up the nutty story. TMZ has this: David Lee Roth wants you to know he can eat as many nuts as he wants!

Diamond Dave tells TMZ "I was in Canada only from July first through the fourth for a performance at the Quebec City Summer Festival. I had no encounters or incidents with the police. The only thing I'm allergic to is criticism. -- Love, Dave"

A story that circulated earlier this week -- fueled by actual interviews with two Canadian police officers -- claimed cops had to save Dave's life after he went into anaphylactic shock from eating nuts. - more on this story

Fall Out Amish Boys
antiMusic reports: Fall Out Boy will make a special appearance in the new film Sex Drive, which hits theaters October 10th. In the movie they reportedly perform for a bunch of drunk Amish kids and some Amish boobs are supposedly involved as well. Don't ask, that's just what we were told.

Here is synopsis of the flick: "Loveable underdog IAN (Josh Zuckerman) is the last American virgin. At least that's how it feels to him now that he's 18, about to go to college, and losing girls to his 14-year-old brother. Ian's always been the nice guy, the best friend... never the boyfriend.

But his luck finally seems to be changing when he meets DANIELLE. She's everything he's ever wanted in a girlfriend fun, sexy, and she really likes him. There's just one problem. She lives in Knoxville. And he lives in Chicago. And she thinks he's the Brad Pitt lookalike he's pretending to be on Facebook. At the urging of his best friend, LANCE (Clark Duke), Ian decides to confront his fear of rejection when Danielle makes him the offer of a lifetime: "If you drive all the way for me, I'll go all the way for you." - more on this story

Red Hot Logo Worth 11 Million Bucks?
antiMusic reports: Do you think that the use of a band logo on one jacket is worth $11 million bucks? Forget tort reform, outlaw lawyers. What follows is another outrageous example of the abuse of the legal system.

NME has the story: A Florida clothing company that affixed the Red Hot Chili Peppers logo to a jacket has been sued by the merchandising company that owns the rights to the logo, as well as logos of Guns N Roses, Led Zeppelin and more.

Bravada International is suing Back-Lite for $11 million dollars after the company used the logo on a single jacket, at the request of an individual customer. - more on this story

Avril Duds For Posers
idolator reports: Avril Lavigne's clothing line for the discount chain Kohl's, Abbey Jane, has made its way to outlets of the department store, and while I guess it's nice that not all the clothing lines for juniors these days are automatically going the spendaholic-bimbette-in-training route, the clothes look a bit, well, uninspired.

Sure, they're not exactly designer dudsprices range from $24 for t-shirts to $40 for hoodiesbut wouldn't it have been nice to see some sort of creativity from Lavigne beyond reappropriation of The Best Damn Thing's imagery?

It's almost as if she was cheating off Pete Wentz on an essay test, but being careful to change just enough details so that she could feel OK about passing off the work as her own. A few sample pieces after the jump. - See the "duds" here

Alicia Keys 007
E! reports: Alicia Keys as a Bond Girl? Not exactly. But [E!'s Marc Malkin] just got word that the songbird is the top contender to sing the title song for the next James Bond flick, Quantum of Solace.

No official announcement has been made, but a source tells Malkin, "I believe Alicia is the winner."

Amy Winehouse was the first singer linked to the movie, but she apparently never finished recording her song with ber-producer Mark Ronson. - more on this story

Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young Deja CD
PR reports: CSNY: Dj Vu LIVE is a sixteen track audio companion to CSNY: Dj Vu, the new documentary film directed by Neil Young that opens in theaters at the end of this month. The album will be released by Reprise Records on July 22nd and serves as the film's de facto soundtrack.

The film chronicles Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young's 2006 North American Tour. While the documentary deals with the interaction between the band, audience, media and general population, the album includes full-length versions of songs that are heard as excerpts in the film. In some ways, the album serves as a kind of live greatest hits collection augmented by key songs from Young's earlier, controversial Living With War album. It offers the listener an opportunity to experience the legendary group's repertoire through the prism of contemporary conflict. In the film, songs from the tour are woven together with archival material, news footage, and audience reaction and observations, as issues surrounding the integration of politics and art are examined and observed. - more on this story
