Metal Underground reports: According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Milwaukee police have arrested a 19-year-old man they believe was involved in the weekend armed robbery of BURY YOUR DEAD guitarist Eric Ellis, who had just played a show at The Rave.

The victim, 23, was sitting in a car about 12:30 a.m. Sunday when he was held up by five men, two with guns, according to Milwaukee police. He handed over a bag of jewelry, and the robbers fled the parking lot, near N. 24th St. and W. Wisconsin Ave.

AC/DC Finally Hitting the Studio
SleazeRoxx.com reports: Australian hard rock icons AC/DC are getting closer to ending an eight-year drought of new music. "God, I'm ready," bassist Cliff Williams, who was in L.A. to participate at the Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp, tells Spinner. To that end, the group will hit the studio March 1.

Almost as long as the wait for new music is the band's absence from the stage. Tour plans, however, aren't as firm. "If we go out again or when we go out again," Williams said. "You just never know. We've been around a long time, so we're going to get together and get in the studio and I fully expect we will [tour.].

"I don't mean to be so negative about that. [When] the last tour ended in early '01, you'd see kids on their dads' shoulders. And these kids were like 10, 12 years old. It will be tremendous to see that again. And it's very cool -- younger kids getting into older music."- more on this story

Avril Pregnant?
antiMusic reports: Seems like just yesterday that Avril burst onto the scene with the banal tween anthem "Sk8er Boi." Now she might have little sk8er boi or sk8er gurl of her own. TMZ has the speculative story: TMZ spotted Avril Lavigne and hubby rocker Deryck Whibley shopping up a storm on Robertson Blvd. yesterday ... but could it be for a wee Whiblet or Whiblette?

Consider the evidence: The couple dropped around $500 at Lisa Kline Kids, purchasing everything from a cheetah diaper bag to baby AC/DC tees, and, of course, a camo pacifier holder. Sounds a lot like she's preparing for life to get more complicated.

What's more, says a TMZ spy, "She definitely looks like she has a bump." We've contacted her reps, but haven't heard back.- If you actually care, then TMZ has a video for you.

Jack Still On Top, Jacko Denied, Winehouse Jumps Up
antiMusic reports: An interesting week on the charts. The music industries annual infomercial, aka The Grammy Awards, seem to do their trick and jumped the obscure album of the year winner from Herbie Hancock up 154 spots to land it in the Top 5. Amy Winehouse got a big bump as well, but it wasn't enough to outsell the last week's No 1 from Jack Johnson or the self proclaimed king of pop. But Jacko was denied the No 2 spot on a technicality.

Here is a little on how the charts shaped up from Billboard: Johnson's "Sleep Through the Static" sold 179,545 copies in the week ended February 17, according to Nielsen SoundScan, enough to lead the field for a second week.

The new 25th anniversary reissue of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" would have opened at No. 2, thanks to sales of about 166,000 copies. But as a catalog release, it was ineligible to chart on the Billboard 200. Instead, the No. 2 slot went to Winehouse's "Back to Black," which yielded five Grammys on February 10. It jumped 22 places after selling about 115,000 copies.- more on this story

50 Cent Ordered To Pay Up
Sohh reports: 50 Cent has been ordered to pay up after losing a lawsuit filed against him by a photographer.

The order came down from the judge this week, after a nearly five-year drag out, ruling that Fif must cough up an undisclosed amount of cash to the plaintiff.

Jim Alcorn, then a New York Post deputy photo assignment editor, brought the suit against the rap mogul in 2003 after being knocked to the ground by Fif's body guards outside a jewelry shop when he tried to snap a few pictures of the rapper. - more on this story

Myspace The New iTunes?
Reuters reports: MySpace, the top social networking site owned by News Corp, is in talks to create an online music joint venture with the four biggest record companies, sources familiar with the discussion said on Wednesday.

The talks are part of Rupert Murdoch's plans to distinguish MySpace, born as a haven for new music fans, from fast-moving rival Facebook as the premiere destination for digital media.

One source familiar with the matter said MySpace has held talks with companies over the past few weeks to gauge interest in such a service, which would compete with Apple Inc's popular iTunes.- more on this story

Trouble Within Paramore
antiMusic reports: There appears to be trouble in Paramore land. The rumors surfaced that guitarist Josh Farro and singer Hayley Williams are not seeing eye to eye. Fuel was added to the fire when the band pulled the plug on their UK tour. Now the group's lead singer took to the band's blog to confirm there is some "internal issues" within the band.

Here is part of Hayley's blog post: As most of you already know, we have cancelled the rest of our UK/Europe RIOT Tour. First of all, we want to say we are so sorry for letting all of you down. We feel terrible about it and really didn't expect for this to happen. It probably doesn't sound like much but we just hate that we won't get to play this show for those of you who had hoped to see it.

There are a lot of internal issues that have been going on in this band for quite a while now. A lot of it started right around the time we were gearing up for the RIOT Tour in the US. We were able to fight through all of it for this long but unfortunately we weren't able to keep it together long enough to make it through 'til the end of this tour. We really feel that taking this time is going to give us a chance to get away and work out our personal issues at home and on our own terms. We just aren't willing to risk the life of our band over one tour. That probably sounds terrible right now, to say that finishing a week of shows wasn't worth it but if we can use this next month wisely then we will be a lot healthier for the tours ahead. We hope that - even though it might be hard to understand - that you guys can support us at this time.

Maybe one day we will tell the whole story but for now, just know that all five of us are going to work so hard to get it right. - more on this story

RIAA Link Music Piracy to Terrorism?
antiMusic reports: Hey did you know that there are links between people who profit from pirated music and people who deal weapons, populate terror cells, and murder their fellow man for sport? You didn't? You must have missed the RIAA video.

Idolator Yesterday the RIAA-produced video In Trial, which covers the societal dangers of music piracy, made its way out to torrent sites, and among its contents are instructions on how to get RIAA investigators qualified as expert witnesses, a guide to identifying pirated CDs, and the bit [at the full story link], about the links between people who profit from pirated music and people who deal weapons, populate terror cells, and murder their fellow man for sport.

Surely I'm not the only person who thinks that this particular bit on the "kill 'em all" impulses of miscreants dealing in fifth-generation copies of Graduation would hit home a little more effectively if it were accompanied by a bangin' soundtrack? - Grab a laugh with the video here

E! has the story: The Dave Grohl-fronted foursome sued Marvel Studios for copyright infringement Wednesday, accusing the production arm of the famed comic book empire of using two of their songs for a TV trailer without the band's permission.

Per the lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, "substantial excerpts" of the tunes "Best of You" and "Free Me," both off the 2005 album In Your Honor, were used in a teaser for the upcoming animated series Wolverine and the X-Men.

The song samples "were copied directly from the Foo Fighters' sound recordings of those two songs" and people can watch the trailer online, the suit alleges.- more on this story
