Noel Gallagher Plans Solo CD

Music Radar reports: After years of speculation, Oasis songwriter leader Noel Gallagher says he does plan to record a solo album.

He told BBC Radio 1 that he wants to do a "separate" release from Oasis when the band's current mammoth tour is over towards the end of 2009. And Noel wants brother Liam to do the same.

"At the end of this tour, I'd like everybody to do something separately. I think it would be interesting for our fans. I also think because we've ended up with this album at a place where we were working to for the last five years. It's kind of like: What do we do next?'

Clueless reports: Fearless Records (Plain White T's, Mayday Parade, The Maine) will release [not really punk] Punk Goes Pop 2 on February 17, 2009.

This latest addition to the Punk Goes series will be the label's first release of the new year. The compilation will feature popular rock, pop, screamo, and punk artists covering an assortment of favorite pop hits.

Rockstar/Pornstar: An American Love Story

Blabbermouth reports: Biohazard frontman Evan Seinfeld and his wife, adult film star Tera Patrick, are currently writing their joint autobiography, "Rockstar/Pornstar: An American Love Story."

They'll be aided in the venture with entertainment journalist Carrie Borzillo-Vrenna, author of "Cherry Bomb: The Ultimate Guide to Becoming a Better Flirt, a Tougher Chick, and a Hotter Girlfriend, and to Living Life Like a Rock Star" and "Eyewitness Nirvana: The Day-by-Day Chronicle".

In 2002, Tera Patrick met the man of her dreams � Evan Seinfeld of the HBO prison drama "Oz" and founder/lead singer/bassist of the multi-platinum hardcore Brooklyn rockers BIOHAZARD. After a whirlwind romance, the couple tied the knot in Las Vegas on January 9, 2004 and currently reside in California. - more on this story

Ministry Mainman Becoming The Susan Lucci Of Metal

HER reports: "I'm becoming the Susan Lucci or Martin Scorsese of metal," laughs Ministry's founder Al Jourgensen of his five Grammy nominations, but no wins - yet.

Jourgensen and Ministry just snagged a nomination in the Best Metal Performance category for the track "Under My Thumb" from their album "Cover Up," released April 1, 2008.

Indeed, the multi-platinum-selling Jourgensen, who put Ministry to bed this past fall with the band's "C U La TouR" global jaunt, was somewhat surprised by this Grammy nod. "I'm starting to feel like Michael Corleone in 'The Godfather,'" he mused. "'Every time I try and get out...they keep pulling me back in.'" - more on this story

Glasvegas Set Releases and Late Night Appearances

Sony reports: Glasvegas will release their debut album January 6th, '09 in the US. In anticipation of the albums US release, Columbia Records will limitedly release the bands Christmas album as a pre-order reward at indie retail starting December 8th and exclusively online at iTunes for 2 weeks starting December 16th.

The 6 song mini-album, A Snowflake Fell (And It Felt Like A Kiss), was recorded in Transylvania in October 2008 and includes 5 new songs and a cover of Silent Night with the The Concentus Choir singing on the track (in English & Romanian) at St Nicholas Church in Brasov.

Glasvegas will embark on a mini-tour in support of their US release on the 4th of January starting in Boston and ending in LA. You can also catch the bands US television debut on the Late Show with David Letterman on January 5th, 2009 and a week later on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson which will air on January 15th. Love Grenades Mini Tour

PR reports: Love Grenades will be appearing throughout Southern California to herald the release of their new EP, Tigers in the Fire, with dates at Bardot, the Knitting Factory, and Fullerton's Continental Room.

The appearances come on the heels of the band's successful month-long residency at The Echo in October. More Southern California dates and the band's first ever international show in Mexico City are also on the horizon.

Quincy Jones Goes South By Southwest

SXSW reports: Impresario and multi-Grammy winning producer, composer and arranger Quincy Jones will deliver the keynote address at the 2009 South By Southwest (SXSW) Music Conference in Austin, TX on March 19th, 2009 it was announced today.

A longtime humanitarian who produced and conducted the historic "We Are The World" recording benefitting Ethiopian famine relief, Jones is expected to discuss the power of music to influence and create positive change in the world and the responsibility of the artist to use their craft to bring people together for the betterment of mankind.

Petrel Show The True Spirit of Christmas
