Axl Wants Original Guns N' Roses Reunion? |
Record execs are fuming after Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose went missing for two months before the release of the band's comeback album - but according to The Daily Telegraph, word is he has been trying to get the original line-up back together for a world tour.
[Axl] has reportedly been trying to get the original gang to reunite. Guitarist Izzy Stradlin is keen to see the original members back together - while Slash's involvement in current band Velvet Revolver looks shaky after they were dropped by their label.

"We've been working heavily on it for a couple of months. It's early days," Martin tells Undercover News. "We are in the writing process. We've been meeting with Gaby, Mary, Irene and The Valentines crew, people like Vince Lovegrove, Bon's early friends". (Irene was Bon's former wife).
Casting is also being considered. Tom Budge (Three Dollars, Australian Rules, The Night We Called It A Day) is the front-runner for the part of Angus Young but Bon is still to be cast. "We have been considering casting and we are not going to contain this to Australia," he says.

Their "Viva La Vida," one of the year's best-selling CDs, is in album of the year contention along with Radiohead's groundbreaking "In Rainbows"; singer-songwriter Ne-Yo's "Year of the Gentleman"; and Robert Plant's collaboration with Alison Krauss, "Raising Sand."
Nominations were announced in a brand-new format this year, with an hourlong live prime-time CBS concert special that featured a brisk procession of performers and LL Cool J and Taylor Swift as hosts.

Also on tap for release this month are three songs from Smashing Pumpkins including "1979."

With the help of Thanksgiving sale prices and a performance from the singer at the November 23 American Music Awards, sales for teenage country star Taylor Swift's "Fearless" increased 23 percent to 267,000, pushing the set up from No. 4 to No. 2
