Guitarist Collapses On Stage |
Demmel was severely dehydrated and had mentioned several times to his tech that he felt lightheaded during the show.
Says drummer Dave McClain, "That was a scary moment for all of us. Seeing your friend collapse like that is something that nobody wants to experience. He's doing much better now and taking it easy on the bus."

Metallica Singer St Angers Trespassers |
Someone scrawled "SHAME DISGRACE" on the 300-foot-long, 8-to 10-foot-high corrugated metal silver fence adorned with barbed wire at its far edges. The fence, at the end of a fire road in the Terra Linda-Sleepy Hollow Divide open space preserve, went up in its present configuration in the past several weeks, according to trail users.
"I now have to get on the road with cars and go another three to seven miles to get to where I want to go," said biker David Lazarini of San Rafael. "It was always open, and it has changed suddenly." [poor baby, however it is Hetfield's property and would these whiners want all kinds of strange people traipsing across their yards? Would he be angrier if Hetfield had him arrested for trespassing? Read more, see photos of the fence and what prompted the fence

Avril Deemed Too Sexy |
Officials with the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party's youth wing contend Lavigne's Aug. 29 performance in Kuala Lumpur would set a bad example for citizens, especially coming two days before the nation's Aug. 31 Independence Day holiday.
"It is considered too sexy for us...it's not good for viewers in Malaysia," party official Kamarulzaman Mohamed was quoted by the Associated Press as saying.

The Return of Al Jourgensen's Revolting Cocks |
"This is the best RevCo album I've ever done," Al continued. "As a matter of fact, I think this is the best album - including Ministry, Pailhead, Lard - anything I've ever done, period. Production-wise, song-wise, I'm really, really happy with this record. It's the first CD I've ever gotten back from the mastering studio that I didn't have anything to bitch about. No complaints. I listened to the whole thing and just went, 'OK, that's a wrap. Let's go'!"
Now that "Sex-O Olympic-O" is in the can, Jourgensen and his "knuckleheads" plan to begin tracking yet another RevCo release in September at Jourgensen's 13th Planet Studios in El Paso, TX. As he did with "Sex-O," Jourgensen will produce this next release as well as be involved in writing and playing on the album. RevCo will then initiate rehearsals for the upcoming RevCo World Tour, scheduled to begin in April 2009. While Jourgensen won't claim a bunk on RevCo's tour bus for the duration of the trek, he does plan to perform with the band on a few choice dates.

Are Your Rowdy Friends Ready for Some Football? |
Williams first performed "All My Rowdy Friends Are Here on Monday Night" - based on his hit song "All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Tonight" - in 1989 during the 20th anniversary season of MNF on ABC. Through the years, the MNF open has featured Williams in a variety of settings -- cruising the highway in a convertible with Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders, tapping with famed dancer Savion Glover, even flying through outer space. After performing alongside an all-star band the past two years on ESPN, Williams will be a solo act this fall, welcoming fans to the weekly MNF game with a house party theme.
Williams has become synonymous with sports television's signature series, but ironically the gig almost went to another well-known entertainer. "The leading contender was actually a song '20/20' by George Benson, "admits Bob Toms, Vice President, Production Enhancements for ESPN, who was the producer for ABC Sports' on-air promotion in 1989. "It had a pretty good vibe but it wasn't quite right. It didn't really talk football at all. We called Hank Williams Jr. and spoke to his manager, a great guy by the name of Merle Kilgore, and we asked if Hank would have any interest in working on MNF. We asked if he knew anything about football, and Merle's reply was, 'Does Hank know football? Hank is an American. He knows football.' And ever since then, that was it."

The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus Label Issues Statement To Tell Us the Band is in the Middle of Recording But With No Real New News |
The rock quintet comprised of Ronnie Winter (lead vocals), Elias Reidy (guitar, backing vocals), Duke Kitchens (guitar, piano, vocals), Joey Westwood (bass, vocals) and Jon Wilkes (drums, vocals) forged a rare bond of closeness and healing with listeners from their very first single "Face Down," an unsparing, full-throated cry against domestic violence.
The overwhelming response to the band recently prompted RJA to send regrets via their MySpace page to their now-worldwide fanbase that they would not be joining this summer's Warped Tour.

Mayhem On the Road with Five Finger Death Punch: Final Week |
Last thoughts as the final show approaches.... Truly an amazing summer for everyone involved. EVERY show was packed, and for the first time I didn't have to replace broken gear.( a long horrible story if you've been my tech or seen my bank statement!) Everyone is a bit bummed that this run is over, but we are getting amped up for our Fall headlining tour with In This Moment, Bury Your Dead, and Another Black Day. I think we just don't want the party to end.
On a personal note... I want to say thank you to ALL the fans who came out in force to see 5FDP. Our army of KNUCKLEHEADS has grown by leaps and bounds. We are "taking back control" Plain and simple.
We have one show left on the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival. It's kinda like the last day of school, so it's time to charge the camera, exchange digits and have the last toasts to see each other in the future. It's an amazing thing to be involved in something as massive as this was. Something I will never forget.
A huge thanks to Matt for taking time out to do these diaries this summer. You can catch the band on tour this Fall where they'll be headlining! For now go and check out tracks from the band's album "The Way of the Fist," get tour dates and more right
