10 Years Vs TMZ |
The clip, directed by Paul Boyd (The Cult, Blind Melon), revels in its satirical look at the co-dependent atmosphere spawned by the Lindsay-to-Britney-to-Paris media-merry-go-round that has swept up the paparazzi and American tabloid culture.
The female lead in the new clip is none other than Rebecca Ginos, significant other of Maroon 5 lead vocalist Adam Levine.

Late Night Aiken |
Claymates will make a run on record retailers on May 6th, when Aiken's new album, 'On My Way Here,' is released and the following week he'll make two late night appearances to promote it.
First up, he'll head over to Burbank to appear on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on May 12th and then he'll make an appearance on the Jimmy Kimmel Show on May 15th. We received conflicting information from the fans that wrote in about the Kimmel appearance. Some said Clay was performing and others said he wasn't. So we fired off an email to the show's publicist and she confirmed that "Clay Aiken is booked for an interview" only. The musical guest on that night will be Dierks Bentley.
- She also kindly sent over a list of upcoming musical guests.

Save Money on Mother's Day and Give Mom A Free Song |
In the short time since its release, "Happy Mother's Day", has been downloaded over 85,000 times. He's on to something for sure. MacGeraghty reflects on what inspired him to write a song about mothers saying:
"I come from a family of five kids, so I know it takes tireless devotion, non-stop effort and the patience of an angel to be a mother. As kids, my brothers and sisters and I took for granted that we were always provided for even when times were tough, and naturally we didn't know to be thankful. I always wanted to make some kind of tribute to mothers everywhere. So I'm so glad this song is traveling on its own steam. Mothers are so deserving."

The Orb Have a Dream |
The Orb's music speaks the language of the psyche and of the soul. Various "psychedelic soldiers" of our time have been given their comeuppance in recent years. Many new acts have quite rightly tipped their hats in the form of their sonic creations, toward those who have inspired them during the birth and boom of rave and electronic music.

Mailbag: Gay Illiteracy Problem- Cold Bed Play- The Audacity of Hype and more |
PeterWentzlover had this to say, "This just proves how bad the media is he actually said ' i can't wait to see what other rumors will spill about me like how i'm in a gay relationship and this is all a cover' wow they got it all wrong!"
Normally we could somewhat understand PeterWentzlover's misunderstanding, had it not been for the next paragraph in our article, "For lawyers and dumbasses, we intentionally took Wentz's 'gay' quote out of context for humor value and to help make his point. We don't know, nor care, if Pete is a homosexual or if Ashlee is with child. - Now go read the quote in context at MTV if you actually care about either."
PeterWentzlover, please try and read more carefully in the future to prevent more misunderstandings. And for the record, here is what Wentz actually said "There is a witch hunt for people to be pregnant whenever they get engaged in Hollywood. This is all news to me. I can't wait for the story about how I'm really in a gay relationship and this is all just a cover. ... I mean really, this is crazy. ... I mean we're engaged, that's true, and happy about it."
Cold Bed Play
This one is for the girlfriend, not a reader. She threatened to withhold after reading last week's article about the new Coldplay album. So please mentally replace the line "Here are the tracks that did make the final cut, or as we like to say '10 Reasons To Avoid The New Coldplay CD'" with "Here are Reasons To Drop Everything and Buy The New Coldplay CD". Hope that works. Not a big fan of the color blue.
The Audacity of Hype
A couple regular reader wrote in about our coverage of the Motley Crue tour announcement. They think we may have overdone the mocking just a bit. We'll grant them that, but we were simply making fun of all the hype surrounding this tour. And our joking coverage was actually far less than if we had printed every press release that was sent to us from various "PR" sources (check some other music sites for ALL of those, seems like every fifth story this past week was about Motley). But for the record, we're pretty much done now with the joke. (Unless additional hype still floods our inboxes. Then we might have to poke a little more fun). In all seriousness, we wish them a successful tour and hope the fans have fun and get what they pay for. We'll now turn our event coverage back to other "big" tours happening this summer and try and leave the Crue out of it.
Queer Eye For the Webguy
Thanks to everyone that wrote in to compliment our new design. We rather like ourselves. Normally when we do a redesign we'll hear from a couple dozen people with complaints, but this time only one person sent in an angry missive (with complaints about the layout.) He was correct, there were a couple tweaks needed so people that use old screen resolutions (circa Window 95 era) could read the site properly. The layout was set up to accommodate the majority of websurfers, but we did miss a critical piece of code that would make the text legible for those with older monitors or resolutions. That was quickly fixed and we are still tweaking older articles and areas of the site to comply with the new design. But if you run into any problems with the new layout, please let us know so we can fix it.
Sales and Rumors of Sales
Someone sold antiMusic to a major record label for millions and forgot to tell us! We learned on Friday that the first part is apparently a rumor that is making the rounds. We were as shocked to hear this as Pete Wentz was to read that he would soon be a daddy. A couple of other sites were purchased recently by another company that a major label has invested in, but that wasn't us. For one, if a label was holding our purse strings the readers couldn't trust our coverage so you'd have a new editor because I couldn't go for that deal. Besides they didn't offer enough money (according to this rumor). A rumor about us selling out seems to surface once or twice a year and our response is the same: We have not been sold. But if anyone out there really has millions that you want to part with, we might be convinced to "sellout" and turn anti over to a corporate salesperson and then
- take on this project. (everyone has a price)
