50 Cent Evicts Son, Mom Sues |
According to AP, "The lawsuit filed by Shaniqua Tompkins accuses 50 Cent of breach of contract and unjust enrichment. Her lawyer says this means he broke a promise to give Tompkins and son Marquise a home."
"This was a house that was promised to Shaniqua up until the closing," said Tompkins' lawyer Paul Catsandonis. "Then he decided not to put it in her name. Now he's trying to put her out of the house. This would mean evicting his own son."
This raises some questions, which the following article should answer, but doesn't tell us if Fiddy's kid goes by the name 25 Cent.

Cult Zeppelin Rumor Addressed |
"That really goes to show you how naive people are, and how these things can get blown out of proportion," said Astbury. "It's been embellished by journalists ... I haven't even spoken to anyone from LED ZEPPELIN's camp."
Astbury reportedly announced during a show in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 17 that his band would support LED ZEPPELIN on a 2008 tour. According to an MTV.com report, Astbury told the crowd, "We'll be back next year because we're opening for a band you may have heard of ... the name starts with an 'L' and has a 'Z' in it." After a fan shouted, "LED ZEPPELIN," Astbury nodded and raised his arm in the air.

Slash on Weiland's Exit and VR Future |
As for the removal of the Weiland albatross off of their backs, "Everybody's just very relieved," Slash told RS. "This is something that's been coming down for a while. I know everybody is tying the STP [reunion tour] thing to it, but it started way before that. We just had a lot of commitments to fulfill, so we just had to drag this thing out until the obligations were finished. Basically, we're just excited about finding someone else and moving on."
Slash also discussed the future voice of Velvet Revolver, "There's some people, but it's really premature to start naming names. We actually worked with a guy, I won't mention his name, before we left to go to the U.K. and there just wasn't enough to break him in, so we're gonna work with him again some more, and maybe some other guys as well."
- Find out what Slash had to say about Weiland's left-handed recommendation they go with Sebastian Bach.

Myspace Launch Music Service |
Set in stone are the participants. All major labels save EMI Music Group are onboard, having finalized licensing deals as late as last night. EMI is expected to come to an agreement soon. Its absence is blamed primarily on the changing management structure of the company. EMI just Wednesday named a new digital business president, who will start April 28.
Not yet included are independent labels and aggregators. According to MySpace CEO Chris DeWolfe, the initial effort was focused on getting buy-in from the major labels.

Live Nation Inks Jay-Z |
$150 million might sound like a lot for Live Nation to pay for Jay-Z, but don't forget that these Live Nation contracts don't just involve recordings - it'll have a slice of everything from Jay-Z's concert tickets to merchandise sales to 'entrepreneurial concepts' as well. Plus on Christmas Eve and the Queen's birthday one lucky Live Nation executive gets to briefly look at Beyonce's knickers. Money well spent, we're sure.
Jay-Z has signed over more or less everything he'll ever do in the future to Live Nation in return for $150 million or, as he prefers to call it, one pair of quite nice shoes.

iTunes Bigger Then Wal-Mart? |
"While this is probably a gradual inevitability, and iTunes sales have risen quickly over the last two years, the stats involved only cover the month of January 2008, a period influenced not just by holiday gift cards, but a lull in big album releases.
"With little new full-length product of note, it's no surprise digital sales would rise in overall percentage. There's also evidence that the slump in CD sales and the rise in digital-music sales are both slowing, and may even plateau. "

KISS Boxset Scam |
The tracklisting to said box just happens to feature the exact same songs that appeared on the three volumes of that discount staple 20th Century Masters: The Millenium that they put out in '03, '04 and '06 respectively.
Why? Cuz you people deserve to give yourself a round of applause! Would you like to know just how many times these songs have been featured on albums and compilations? For reasons I can't quite explain, I bothered to figured it out.
- Grab that here, it's rather interesting.
