Steve Moore Solo CD |
Relapse will issue The Henge in late October, a fitting choice for Moore's horror-movie style songs. Moore describes his approach to the self-recorded album saying, "this album represents a turning point in my writing - a subtle shift in direction that is only apparent when considering the album as a whole. While no track is too far removed from the harmonic language I create through my work with Zombi, this album gives me a chance to expand my tonal palette by experimenting with different instrumentations."- more on this story
The Who's Amazing Journey |
Marking 40 years since The Who's first U.S. appearance in North America, Amazing Journey: The Story of The Who will make its worldwide debut at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 12, 2007.
Spanning over four decades, Amazing Journey: The Story of The Who reintroduces The Who now and to generations-to-come, as it tells one of the greatest stories of rock. The film tells the unfolding story of The Who and how they have straddled the rock world for forty years, in a tale as gripping in adventure, life and personality as the searing power of their music. The film features all-new, exclusive, never-before-seen interviews with Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey and others, rare and recently discovered concert footage, artist profiles and much, much more, all in 5.1 Surround Sound. - more on this story
Lunch and Listen with Joni Mitchell |
"'Lunch and Listen' gets to the heart of the connection between Starbucks customers and music," says Ken Lombard, president of Starbucks Entertainment who also oversees Hear Music. "We're very proud of this record and on September 25, Mitchell's timeless resonance will be felt in a very profound way."
Born out of a burst of creative energy,
"Shine" is one of three new artistic endeavors launched by Mitchell this
year. The first, "The Fiddle and the Drum," a ballet based on Mitchell's
music, debuted with the Alberta Ballet in Calgary earlier this year with
Mitchell serving as co-creator and artistic director. The second is a politically
charged visual art exhibit by Mitchell that will debut in New York in the
fall.

Home for Misfits |
Murphy's new album Home for Misfits will be released in the fall of 2007. For this album Murphy retreated to the studio, spending almost two years writing new material. Culling from the wealth of talent that is the LA music scene, Murphy and co-producer Rich McCulley enlisted support in the studio from Murphy's long-time band members Brian Young (Fountains of Wayne, Ivy), John Skibic and Sully Sullivan (Ivy, Twilight Singers), and wife Jacqueline Grad, along with McCulley, Amy Farris, Kip Boardman, John McDuffie and Duane Jarvis.
What have emerged are Kaz's best work yet,
a sonically rich and emotionally compelling collection of songs that share
the stories of ordinary people gone awry; Home for Misfits authentically
examines through carefully taken long-shots and close-ups, the misfit that
lingers in all of us.

Charles Wells Old School Debut |
"This CD has an old-school R&B feel," says Charles of his debut. "It also has a flavour of blues and a little of country. It has a very earthy sound. I've tried to bring back the days when artists used horns and strings on their projects to enhance their groove."
"I have always felt music in my spirit. I started at such an early age, my heart has never known another way to express itself." Influenced by radio in the sixties and seventies, his first band was called "We Friends," performing at talent shows and the like. Thus began Charles' career in music, from performing at private events, country clubs, casinos and local clubs. Currently his band "Music Box" is one of the most sought after bands in the region.- more on this story
