Nude Disney Star Sued - A Top Story This Week
antiMusic reports: We do have a ban on Disney coverage right now but we can't resist a story about a Disney star making lesbian photos. That's not the focus of the story but that's what caught our eye. Funny how the Goofy company can ban metal bands but when one of their kiddy show stars has provocative photos pop up online, they act as if nothing happened. Hecklerspray have the story: If you ever wanted proof of how successful Disney's High School Musical cable movies have been, you only need to look as far as Vanessa Hudgens. A series of lewd Vanessa Hudgens photos have been posted across the internet recently, showing 18-year-old Vanessa Hudgens naked and playing at being a lesbian - and still High School Musical fans have rushed to Vanessa's defence, claiming that Hudgens is only doing what any normal teenage girl would do. While we'd argue with that judgement - we've met plenty of teenage girls in our time, and getting them to send us naked lesbian photos of them has proved to be damn near impossible - you have to respect the passion of her followers.

One of Vanessa Hudgens' old lawyers has decided to sue her for $150,000 over something to do with Vanessa Hudgens that shockingly doesn't involve any amount of teenage nudity whatsoever.

E! Online reports: The scandal-tinged High School Musical star was sued Monday for breach of contract by her former lawyer who says that the 18-year-old hasn't yet paid a $150,000 bill. In his complaint, Brian L. Schall claims that Hudgens has raked in more than $5 million from songwriting and recording deals that he helped negotiate starting Oct. 1, 2005- more on this story

OJ Arrested - A Top Story This Week
antiMusic reports: This has nothing to do with music but we figured some of you may be interested. It looks like OJ took a break from hunting down Nicole's real killer at various golf courses to engage in a bit of armed robbery. Those that have been wanting OJ Simpson behind bars, your wish has been granted as the "Juice" was arrested in Las Vegas this weekend and is currently being held without bail at the Clark County Detention Center facing some serious time in prison on two counts of robbery with a deadly weapon, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit a crime and burglary with a firearm.

Las Vegas police arrested O.J. Simpson on Sunday, saying he was part of an armed group who burst into a hotel room and snatched memorabilia related to his sports career, reports AP who further report that "Simpson was taken away from The Palms casino-hotel by plainclothes officers a day after the arrest of a golfing buddy who police say accompanied him with a gun in the Thursday night holdup."

OJ could get 30 years for just one count of armed robbery. Simpson claimed that he and the others involved were in the room trying to retrieve stolen items that including his Hall of Fame certificate and a picture he took with the late FBI dictator J. Edgar Hoover. He claims that there were no guns involved but police reportedly seized two firearms they believe were used in the robbery. One other man was arrested and police are on the look out for several more. We'll keep you posted if riots break out in Brentwood but for now if you want to know more about this, then AP will hook you up right- here

Kid Rock Says A Bitch Got Slapped - A Top Story This Week
antiMusic reports: Kid Rock spoke with Double R & Steve The Producer from the BJ Shea Morning Experience on 99.9 KISW in Seattle last week. He addressed the incident at the VMAs where he punched Tommy Lee (T-Bonehead didn't get any shots in). Despite speculation that the fight was centered around Pam Anderson, Rock says that isn't so and our favorite part of the interview was when he responded to Tommy Lee saying that all Kid gave him was a "bitch slap". To which Kid Rock said, "He said it was a bitch slap and I couldn't agree more. A bitch got slapped."

Steve The Producer was kind enough to send over a few more highlights for us to enjoy: Kid Rock denied that he and Tommy are fighting over Pamela Anderson. As far as he's concerned, Tommy or anybody else can have her. "The last thing I wanna do is to keep having my name associated with Pam and [Tommy Lee]." He added that divorcing Pam and getting out of that relationship was, quote, "the best thing I ever did."

Kid said the fight started because of, "Five or six years of complete and utter disrespect" that Tommy has shown him. Things really came to a head during the divorce. Pam and Tommy were throwing a birthday party for one of their kids, and Tommy took Pam's BlackBerry when she wasn't looking, and started e-mailing Kid Rock. Kid says it was, quote, "Some of the most horrendous things I'd ever heard. . . very disrespectful things." But Kid Rock didn't allow himself to be goaded into an e-mail war. He says, quote, "I'm not a talker. I just e-mailed him back and said, 'I will see you one day,' period. And when I came back from the bathroom at those awards and he was sitting right next to my seat at my table, that's it, that's enough. And I gave him the opportunity to stand up like a man, and he did not. And if you watch the tape, he doesn't start running his mouth until the security guards grab his arms."

As for Tommy's recent apology to pretty much everyone at the VMAs BUT Kid Rock, Kid says, quote, "I'm not apologizing to anyone, because whoever put us all in the room, whatever, they got what they wanted. And this has been a long time coming. . . I did what any man would have done."

Fan Impaled At Concert - A Top Story This Week
antiMusic reports: $5 was just too much to ask to see Papa Roach, Hinder and Buckcherry for one fan but he paid a bigger price when he got the business end of a iron spike while trying to scale a 12 foot fence to speak into the concert.

Contact Music has the story: A Papa Roach fan is recovering in hospital after impaling his thigh on an inch-think spike while trying to climb a 12-foot iron fence to gain access to the Bad Boys of Rock concert in Pennsylvania.

Firefighters had to cut part of the fence away as the unnamed rock fan fell in and out of consciousness at the York concert on Wednesday (11Sep07), which also featured performances by Hinder and Buckcherry. The fan underwent surgery on Wednesday night.- more on this story

Disney Bans Metal, antiMusic calls for Disney Boycott - A Top Story This Week
antiMusic reports: While Disney shrugged off nude photos of a young female star from their teenybopper hit "High School Musical" they have gone into full censorship mode when it comes to heavy metal and hard rock concert on Disney properties. How this effects their metalcore darlings Atreyu we don't know but for other heavy bands, you are no longer welcome at venues on Disney lots.

The Mickey Mouse execs have launched a war against metal, causing the cancellations of various metal shows at the House of Blues venues at their Disneyland and Disneyworld properties. According to the LA times, five metal concerts have either been moved off those properties or cancelled outright by Live Nation who run the House of Blues venues. Of course, that corporation offered up a lame excuse. John Vlautin, vice president of communications for Live Nation said in a statement last week "House of Blues offers a range of entertainment to match the audience at our venues. It was determined that the mix of entertainment at our two Disney locations should be different from our other venues."

Nevertheless, we here at antiMusic will do our part and we will no longer carry any articles related to anything Disney including Hollywood Records until they stop their censorship. We encourage you to join us in this boycott and refrain from all things Disney. Shouldn't be too hard.- find out which bands were banned

NIN Disbanding - A Top Story This Week
TuneLab reports: Nine Inch Nails main-man Trent Reznor announced that his group's current lineup will disband after their final show of the tour on September 18th in Honolulu, Hawaii.

"At this point, I want to switch things around a bit," he said. "Nine Inch Nails as a rock band configuration, we've done it and we've done it again. I see other ways I can present the material in concert, more challenging, something new. I don't want it to go stale."

"This group has toured together for two years", he said. "It's a well-rounded concert, a good collection of songs from different records."- more on this story

The Cure's New North American Tour Plans - A Top Story This Week
antiMusic reports: It's a good thing that boys don't cry because The Cure delivered bad news to North American fans last month when they announced that their tour that was set to kick off this month has been pushed back until next spring so the band can remain in the studio.

The good news is that the new dates have been announced and they will be hitting our shores next month for a few special shows including the Download Festival in Northern California.

The new tour will take place May and June of next year instead of September and October as originally expected but fans that hold tickets to the original dates are told to hold on to them as they will be valid at the new dates.
The three night stand in Mexico City that was part of the original tour schedule was not cancelled and neither was the Download appearance which takes place on October 6th.

The new North American tour is set to kick off on May 9th in Fairfax, Va and will wrap up at Madison Square Garden on June 20th.- dates

Van Halen Vs Zakk Wylde - A Top Story This Week
antiMusic reports: It doesn't get any better than this! A Blabbermouth reader turned the site on to a bit of a showdown between Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth and Ozzy guitarist Zakk Wylde. They even have video of the event but basically it all went down at a rehearsal show for the reunited Van Halen. Here is part of the Blabbermouth fan submitted story followed by a link to check the video:

"The last of the four secret rehearsals by VAN HALEN took place last night [Sunday, September 16] in Los Angeles. Unlike the other shows where 40-50 people were there, this was a much bigger affair with about 500 friends of the crew and band. Some of the people in attendance were Tom Morello (RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE) METALLICA's Kirk Hammett and Zakk Wylde. About two songs into the show, Zakk who was front row tried to get onstage with Eddie [Van Halen].

The security were wrestling to pull him off and David Lee Roth came over and said, 'Nah, nah, nah. Are you in show biz? Then get off the stage. Get off the f***ing stage.' At that point Eddie came over and acknowledged Zakk, saying something to the effect of, 'Hey, man, I can't do this right now.' Throughout the show though Eddie was smiling at Zakk."- Some short comments on the performance and a video of the incident

A Junkie Romance - A Top Story This Week
antiMusic reports: We used to joke that these two should get together but it appears that Satan has a sense of humor if these rumors are to be believed. We'll let Contact Music tell you about it: "Rocker Courtney Love is reportedly dating Kate Moss' rocker ex Pete Doherty.

"The couple was spotted kissing and cuddling over lunch in a Wiltshire, England pub. It is believed the former Hole frontwoman was visiting the Babyshambles singer during his spell in rehab."

Our favorite part of the story is this quote from Courtney "Rocket Scientist" Love: "He's committed, he's very loyal, he's a Scorpio. We had really good chemistry. " Wonder what kind of chemistry that might be? Of the pharmaceutical variety perhaps? Read more at- Contact Music

Reznor Tells Fans to Steal His Music - A Top Story This Week
Gigwise reports: Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor has urged fans of his band to steal his music in protest at high prices for his records.

At a show in Sydney on Sunday night he told the crowd: "Last time I was here, I was doing a lot of complaining about the ridiculous prices of CDs and that story got picked up and carried all around the world.

"Now my record label all around the world hates me because I yelled at them. I called them out for being greedy. Has anyone seen the price come down? OK, well, you know what that means: steal it. Steal away. Steal and steal and steal some more and give it to all your friends and keep on stealing.- more on this story

Kanye Graduates Fiddy - A Top Story This Week
antiMusic reports: Nielsen SoundScan PR rep forwarded this story. Seems that Kanye not only kicked Fiddy ass this past week, he also had the biggest album opener in two years. Thank God this whole thing is over. Here is the Billboard story: Kanye West's "Graduation" (Def Jam) easily leads the star-studded class of Sept. 11 releases, posting The Billboard 200's largest sales total in more than two years. Nielsen SoundScan will show West's album moved 957,000 during its first six days when the tracking service refreshes its charts tomorrow morning (Sept. 19).

Also pumping album volume are 50 Cent's "Curtis" (G-Unit/Interscope), which will lock down the No. 2 slot with 691,000 sold. Kenny Chesney's "Just Who I Am: Poets & Pirates" (BNA/Sony BMG Nashville) will bow at No. 3 with 387,000 copies.

The total for West's "Graduation" is the largest by any album since 50 Cent's "The Massacre" opened with 1.1 million copies in March 2005. West's own August 2005 album, "Late Registration," was the last album to surpass 800,000 copies when it began with 860,000.

(an interesting aside from SoundScan: YTD Digital Track sales through September 16th have surpassed the Year End Digital Track sales total for 2006. YTD 2007 is 582.2 million while 2006 was 581.9 for the entire year) Read more of the Billboard article

Sex Pistols Reunite - A Top Story This Week
antiMusic reports: You think Johnny Rotten would let all of this reunion fever pass by without getting involved? While it's not as groundbreaking as Van Halen, The Police of Led Zeppelin since the Pistols seem to reunite every few years, a version of the band have set up a concert to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the release of their album Never Mind the Bollocks.

According to the BBC, original members John Lydon, Steve Jones, Paul Cook and Glen Matlock will play at the Brixton Academy in London on 8 November. Tickets go on sale Friday and will set you back £37.50.

In an interesting aside, NME is trying to convince fans to buy the reissue of God Save the Queen in hopes they can make it number one in the UK since it failed to hit the mark when it originally released. BBC has a little more on this

Gigwise reports: Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant is trying to convince the rest of his bandmates to play a special show at Belfast's Ulster Hall, according to reports.

It's understood that Plant wants the band to play the show in Belfast when the Ulster Hall re-opens in November 2008.

1liners: Kanye, Fiddy, Hannah and more - A Top Story This Week
antiGUY reports: Hi everyone. It's antiGuy! Remember me? No? That's ok. I've been away for a while and the best excuse I can give is that there really hasn't been much music worth writing about. But seeing the current entertainment deficit I felt the need to give some new releases the reviews they merit since they aren't worth the effort for a full length review. For this first edition, I'm going to cheat a little and take a shot at the current top album chart. Enjoy and send hatemail to [email protected]

Kanye West - Graduation Day: No rap cliche left behind.

50 Cent - Curtis: If you paid 50 cents for this you were ripped off.

High School Musical 2: Young, dumb and full of c... cheese.

Fergie - Dutchess: Now even royalty is sounding generic.

Miley Cyrus - Hannah Montana 2 (Soundtrack)/Meet Miley Cyrus: Proof that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

NOW 25: Record execs should listen to this as shows why you are losing money!

Hairspray Soundtrack: Not only music suffers from terrible remakes and rehashes, the film industry is remaking lame films too. Every lame movie needs the lame music to go with it.

Nickelback - All the Right Reasons: No longer leader of men. They are sorey for sellin out for all the wrong reasons eh! They should team with 50 Cent for the loose change tour.

That's enough for now. I'll leave you with a name check a.k.a. what's with the lame ass name? You can add almost any emo band to this but we'll kick off with this one- Cute is What I Aim For: You missed.

The Heavy Metal Box in Rocktober - A Top Story This Week
PR reports: Rhino Entertainment will release The Heavy Metal Box on October 2nd. Heavy metal is not for the faint of heart. The songs don't want you to dance, shake, spin, or jump. They insist that you bang your head. Forget nuances or subtlety, heavy metal's main concern is kicking your ass.

Rhino dives into the mosh pit with a four-disc collection of musical wickedness that packs more fire and brimstone than an Aleister Crowley barbeque. The Heavy Metal Box invokes some of metal's biggest names with Alice Cooper's "Billion Dollar Babies"; Black Sabbath's "Neon Knights"; "Highway Star" by "the loudest group in the world," Deep Purple; Iron Maiden's "The Phantom Of The Opera" with singer Paul Di'Anno and "The Number Of The Beast" with singer Bruce Dickinson; Judas Priest's "The Ripper" and "You've Got Another Thing Comin'"; Metallica's "Whiplash" and uber-doom-ballad "One"; Megadeth's searing political statement "Peace Sells"; Slayer's soul crushing "South of Heaven"; and Pantera's marriage of metal and hardcore on "Cowboys From Hell." The boxed set also includes songs by Ted Nugent, Kiss, W.A.S.P., Diamond Head, Venom, Living Colour, and a pair of tracks featuring leather-lunged Lemmy Kilmister who appears on Hawkwind's "Lost Johnny" and Motorhead's "Ace of Spades." - more on this story

No More Drugs for Britney - A Top Story This Week
Hecklerspray reports: You know what Britney Spears has to do if she wants to keep her kids? No, not try to wear a pair of knickers for once in her effing life - although that'd be a start - instead, Britney Spears has to undergo random drug testing.

According to the judge in the Britney Spears/ Kevin Federline custody bitchfight over their two young children, Britney Spears is a "habitual, frequent, and continuous" abuser of both drugs and alcohol, and if Britney Spears is serious about keeping her children, she'll need to submit herself to random drug tests to ensure that she's keeping her nose clean.

"Huh?" you're probably thinking, "If Britney Spears is on drugs then why doesn't the judge immediately hand custody over to Kevin Federline?" And the answer to that is simple - because he's Kevin sodding Federline. Seriously, Britney Spears would need to set one of her babies on fire and throw it out of an aeroplane to make Kevin Federline even look like a halfway suitable custody prospect.

Emo's A Pile of Sh*t - A Top Story This Week
antiMusic reports: Someone better tell all of those My Chemical Romance fans to throw away their mascara and turn their frowns upside down because the band's frontman Gerard Way says in a emotional new interview that his band has nothing to do the "pile of sh*t" that is emo.

Brett Sowerby conducted an interview with Way for The Maine Campus. Most of the questions were from students at the university but this one was not attributed to a student and really seemed to make Gerald "emotional". Here is the exchange: TMC: I understand you don't really like the term emo to describe your music. Is there anything you'd like to say about that?

GW: Basically, it's never been accurate to describe us. Emo bands were being booked while we were touring with Christian metal bands because no one would book us on tours. I think emo is F--ing garbage, it's bulls--.

I think there's bands that unfortunately we get lumped in with that are considered emo and by default that starts to make us emo. All I can say is anyone actually listening to the records, put the records next to each other and listen to them and there's actually no similarities. I think emo's a pile of s--. Hagar Talks About Van Halen Reunion, Anthony Snubs - A Top Story This Week
antiMusic reports: KNAC posted a preview of their candid interview with Sammy Hagar. The full interview is set to run this weekend acording to the site but they did post the portion where Sammy discusses the Van Halen reunion and the exclusion of Michael Anthony. Here is that exchange - KNAC.com: I know you love playing music with Michael Anthony, so that being said, what does a Van Halen reunion mean to you without Michael Anthony.or David Lee Roth's original hair?

Hagar: "I wouldn't do it without Mike. On the last reunion, and I'm telling you this straight up - this is stuff I've never really said actually - they wanted to throw Mike out then. Why? I don't know. I still can't understand why Ed has it out for Mike. Mike is the nicest guy in the world, and he's an unbelievable player. He's also an incredible singer and a professional. Mike is a guy who goes out every night and does a perfect job - a 10 every night - it's not even a 9.5. Why would you want to get rid of a guy like that? I don't know what happened between them somewhere when I wasn't around, but I just said, 'no, I won't do it without Mike.' My manager said, 'you put a gun in Mike's hand to negotiate with these guys.' I said, 'you're damn right because I'm telling you, the agency, the promoters and the band that I will not go out and do a Van Halen reunion show without Michael Anthony.'

"Obviously, someone else doesn't feel that way because Mike isn't there. Honest to Godit's none of my business. If Eddie wants to play with his son, fine. I love my son too, but I got him a different job. (laughs) I just think that it should be Mike. They will do good without him, and it's a shame. At the same time, I just think the fans are gonna walk away with a little bit of a disappointment because Mike's a big part of that band."- Check KNAC.com for the full interview

Mutemath Backwards Video - A Top Story This Week
antiMusic reports: We knew they'd come through with a video. Jimmy Kimmel's PR company sent this over. In case you have not already seen the incredible BACKWARDS performance by art-rockers MUTEMATH last night on ABC's late-night talk show "Jimmy Kimmel Live" you need to check out [the link at the end of this article]. For the first time ever on late-night television a band performed in reverse!

The idea for this unique performance stemmed from the video for the track which was a collaborative concept between video director Israel Anthem and the band. Every move and detail by each band member was conceived and painstakingly plotted and choreographed.

Band members learned and rehearsed their individual parts of the song backwards so when filmed and viewed would appear as accurately and naturally as possible in real time though the film runs completely in reverse
