Bobaflex Set Release
PR reports: West Virginian metal maniacs Bobaflex will follow up their cherished 2005 release Apologize For Nothing on October 30 with Tales From Dirt Town. The 12-track disc was produced and mixed by Russ T. Cobb (Sevendust) and recorded at Bang! Studios in Atlanta.

Expanding on the brutality of their debut, Tales From Dirt Town incorporates elements of classic rock shaking up an already schizophrenic sound of heavy riffs and growling to harmonious vocals traded off by the band's four vocalists. Brutal tracks like "Sellout" "That Ole Speed", and "Need A Drink" are met head-on by soaring, almost epic tracks like "Satisfied", "Savior" and "Home" which will serve as the album's first single. With Dave Cobb's excellent production bringing out all facets of the band's sound, Tales From Dirt Town proves to be one of the most accomplished heavy rock albums of 2007.- more on this story

Bootsy Collins Reissues
PR reports: On October 16, Collectors' Choice will reflect on Bootsy Collins' evolution as funk's clown prince. In the 1980s, funk stretched its boundaries under the stewardship of George Clinton's Parliament/Funkadelic and Bootsy Collins' Rubber Band. Collins, a veteran of James Brown's J.B.'s, learned from the best, fusing the Godfather's riffs with psychedelia, disco, jazz and new wave serving as a precursor, in fact, to today's many of jam bands. Re-released will be four pivotal funk albums: Stretchin' Out in Bootsy's Rubber Band, The Boot Is Made for Fonk-N, Ultra Wave and The One Giveth, The Count Taketh Away.

Reissue annotator and venerated funkophile Ron Garman notes: "Bootsy Collins is proof that light-heartedness never needs to be inconsequential. Bon vivant, bedroom philosopher, wielder of the Space Bass and Thumposaurus Rex of the P-Funk, Bootsy belongs to that long line of musical jokers like Louis Prima and Rahsaan Roland Kirk: performers who evolved a comic persona out of their lives, loves and groovy philosophies."- info on each reissue

Fiddy and Lil Kim Sued
antiMusic reports: Did 50 Cent and Lil' Kim stiff a record producer? The producer thinks so and has filed a lawsuit against the duo as well as their record companies for a cool $2 million, saying they never paid him royalties for a song he produced for the two that went on to sell 2 million copies.

Jam! has the report: Carlos Evans says in papers filed in Manhattan's state Supreme Court he contracted with Rotten Apple Records in January 2003 to produce, engineer and mix a rap track called "Magic Stick" to be performed by 50 Cent and Lil' Kim.

Evans, of Staten Island, says he was to get a $7,500 advance and royalties for working on the song. His court papers say that he was paid the advance and nothing else and that his requests for a royalties audit have been ignored. - more on this story

PR reports: Sia is back with her stunning vocals and direct, clever lyrics on her second full-length release, some people have REAL problems. She'll give audiences a glimpse of what the album holds when she hits the road for a tour of the states this fall.

Sia may be best-known from her days with Zero 7 (Simple Things, When It Falls and The Garden), and her solo track "Breathe Me," which was featured in the final episode of "Six Feet Under," but one listen to her striking vocals leaves one feeling as if Sia is a beloved old friend.

The new music on some people have REAL problems is at once upbeat, quirky, and achingly gorgeous, featuring incredible song writing and lush arrangements.
