Live Earth's Secret Agenda? |
The Live Earth gigs, which will take place in cities across all the continents, aim to spread the word of the damage global warming is doing to the planet. Geldof questioned the need for the gigs recently, saying, "Why is (Gore) actually organising them? To make us aware of the greenhouse effect? Everybody's known about that problem for years. We are all f**king conscious of global warming."
In response, Gore replies, "We will have very specific goals that will be very significant and hard-hitting. We will announce those before the concert then empathise them heavily during the concert. God Vs Music Fest |
"I've never seen weather like it," one eyewitness said "My Chemical Romance were due to play but then the sky just went black. There were really strong winds and massive hailstones and everything just got blown away. The sound desk, tops of stages, everything. It was really shocking."
Ambulances have been called to the site, and it is believed at least nine people have been hurt and have been taken to hospital, suffering leg fractures and head injuries.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

"I would make it completely traditional," Lavigne said.
Talk of a possible Christmas album came up when it was pointed out to Lavigne that at this stage of her career -- having "made it," so to speak -- the 22-year-old really can do whatever she wants, musically or otherwise. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
Van Halen Tell All |
The book begins with an account of Van Halen's explosive arrival on the California hard rock scene in 1978, revealing the powers of lead singer David Lee Roth, wunderkind guitarist Eddie Van Halen, good-natured bassist Michael Anthony and complex drummer Alex Van Halen.
The story follows the band's development and success, through Sammy Hagar's replacement of Roth in 1985, and his own replacement by former-Extreme singer Gary Cherone in the late Nineties.
Along the way, appearances are made by prominent supporting players, including Eddie Van Halen's wife Valerie Bertinelli, musical collaborator Michael Jackson and business partner Gene Simmons of Kiss.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

A Night Of Mayhem |
Sadly, on December 8, 2004, while on the road in Columbus, Ohio with long-time friends Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul Abbott and the rest of the Damageplan crew, Mayhem's life was taken away from us when a crazed gunman ran onto stage, senselessly attacking and killing guitarist Darrell Abbott. Mayhem was on the attacker in less than a second. Regardless of the 4 shots which were already fired, he was committed to protecting his friends and the audience from the armed killer. During the struggle, the killer fired two fatal shots at point blank range. Jeffery "Mayhem" Thompson died a hero, placing the safety of others ahead of himself. He fell with two other heroesaudience member Nathan Bray and venue security member Erin Halk, who bravely took to the stage to give assistance and subdue the killer. The rampage finally ended when first responding police officer James Niggemeyer shot and killed the attacker.
Now we pay tribute to Jeffery "Mayhem" Thompson, celebrating both his life and the lives of Darrell Abbott, Nathan Bray, and Erin Halk. Mongo Production and MJS Music Publications present "A Night Of Mayhem." This event will feature live music by 6 bands, including Hillbilly Orchestra, Mother Truckin' Skull Diggers, Texas Hippie Coalition, and Mark John Sternal. Special guests include: Seth Thompson, Officer James Niggemeyer, and rock author and photographer Chris A.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Motley Crue Vs Manager |
The Dr. Feelgood band sued one of their managers Monday, claiming that Carl Stubner made business decisions with his own interests in mind and gave Lee bad career advice, which in turn tarnished the group's image.
Not only did Lee's participation in the reality shows Tommy Lee Goes to College on NBC and Rock Star: Supernova on CBS get in the way of Motley Crue's 2005 Red, White & Crue tour and plans to record a new studio album, costing the band's annual revenue to fall to only $19 million in 2006, but the NBC series' "inane overtones" made Lee look "incoherent, lazy and incompetent," alleges the lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court. Claymate Musical |
Spinner has spilled the beans on "Idol: The Musical" which will open Off Broadway in New York City on July 5th 2007.
The show is described as ""a satirical look" at the phenomena known as Clay-Mania -- a thumbnail that strikes us as being almost as redundant as "a soporific rendition of 'You Light Up My Life,'" although it fails to mention who actually gave the description. Hendrix Appeal |
In 2005, a federal district court dismissed Experience Hendrix's claim that the James Marshall Hendrix Foundation's use of certain Jimi Hendrix personality rights had violated the Washington Personality Rights Act. The Court reasoned that a 1903 New York Civil Rights law, which does not recognize a celebrity's posthumous personality rights, and not the Washington Act, should apply to the case. Yesterday, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed that decision. While Experience Hendrix will request a rehearing, the Court's decision today will not affect Experience Hendrix's exclusive ownership of Jimi's music and recordings and will not affect the trademarks that Experience Hendrix has used and will continue to use in maintaining and promoting Jimi's legacy. - Click Here for the Full Story
