Why Wait Til Tomorrow For What You Can Read Today?
antiMusic reports: Probably the biggest requests we receive about the Day in Rock (aside from more gay idol stories) is from people that want updates throughout the day instead of once a day. After much thought and consideration we decided to give it a try. We snuck it on you today, but for the next week or two we'll try posting the stories as soon as they are ready to go instead of waiting for the next day's update. If it works out and the hate mail is a minimum we'll continue it this way. (the gay idol fans will complain anyway).

It's pretty simple but here is a little explanation on how it'll work. We'll post stories throughout the day at dayinrock.com so you won't have to wait until tomorrow to stay informed. The new stories will appear directly below the top 3 or 4 stories of the current day, so if you've already read today's report and want to see the new stories just scroll down a little and you'll find them.

They will also be linked in posted order on the antiMusic frontpage under "Latest Day in Rock Stories" (clever title huh?) as well as in our rss feed. One warning though once a report is finalized for the day, the new stories won't appear there. So you'll need to go to the main dayinrock page to get the latest. It's a hard link to figure out but you can click over it at top of the news listings on the antiMusic frontpage or bookmark - dayinrock.com

Hate Crime at Tupac Center
PR reports: Tupac Amaru Shakur Center For The Arts Vandalized In A Series of Attacks Over the Weekend. Law Enforcement Officials Are Deeming the Attacks "Hate Crimes" After Finding Noose Tied Around The Neck Of The Tupac Statue

The Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation (TASF) regrets to report that a series of attacks have taken place at the Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts, 5616 Memorial Drive, Stone Mountain, Georgia. The first incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, October 20th, when vandals defaced the building as well as tying a noose around the neck of the bronze statue of Tupac Shakur located in the Center's Peace Garden. The attacks are being investigated as hate crimes by the De Kalb County Sheriff's Office. The second incident occurred at the Center at 2:00AM Monday morning when the statue was damaged further. A male has been arrested and is currently being held in custody.

The noose hung around the statue's neck is an imitation of other cases recently reported in the media after a surge of hate crimes. The statue was also plastered with handbills of garbled rants that include references to 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina as well as vague threats against various record companies and rappers. The manner of the attack indicates it is the work of one or more individuals. - more on this story

Radiohead Vs iTunes
antiMusic reports: One of the bands that has been curiously absent from iTunes is Radiohead. If you wanted digital copies of the band's previous albums you had to head to illegal services to get them. Now one of the group's early efforts have popped up on the leading online digital retailer and Thom and boys don't seem too pleased. Contact Music has the story: Radiohead look set for a head-to-head clash with music site iTunes - after one of the band's first recordings was posted online without permission.

The British rockers' new album, In Rainbows, is currently only available through the band's own website, a move which has challenged the traditional rules of the industry.

But their 1994 My Iron Lung EP is being sold on iTunes, a move which looks set to prompt action from the Paranoid Android hitmakers. - more on this story

Fiddy Slams Nas Over Stupid ---- Title
Gigwise reports: 50 Cent has accused fellow rapper Nas of just trying to sell more records by calling his new album 'N*gger.'

As previously reported on Gigwise, Nas changed the name of his forthcoming album from 'N*gga' to 'N*gger' because he said that he wanted to take the power out of the world.
50 Cent has now hit out at both the rapper and his forthcoming album title, branding the title "a stupid name."

He said: "Nas sucks. It's nonsense, man. That's a stupid name. It doesn't make sense. Why would you title it that?" - more on this story

The Boss Beats Jesus
antiMusic reports: Bruce Springsteen is once again the boss on the album charts, barely beating out last week's No. 1 from Kid Rock during an extremely slow sales week. Springsteen's latest album "Magic" sold just 77,000 copies last week but that was enough to top the charts. Three week's ago he debuted at the top of the charts after selling 335,000 copies.

Kid Rock topped the charts last week with his "Rock N Roll Jesus" but undersold Springsteen by just a couple hundred copies this past week putting him at No. 2. Rascal Flatts' retained third place with 70,000 CDs sold last week while Josh Groban celebrated Christmas early with his "Noel" taking a hop up the chart from 10 last week to No. 4 this week.

Jimmy Eat World's latest "Chase This Light," debuted at No. 5 with 62,000 copies despite lackluster promotion from their new label Interscope. - more on this story

University Vs Coheed & Cambria
PR reports: Coheed & Cambria caused quite the commotion at the University of Kansas this week. Following a number of dorm windows being shot out a set of cryptic symbols were found spray painted throughout the campus with the date "10/23/07" underneath it.

Rumors began to spread on the University's campus that another shooting was coming on Tuesday (10/23/07). The campus police were swamped with phone calls and questions about the impending violence.

Fortunately, the graffiti symbols popping up all over campus were to promote Coheed & Cambria's release of their latest album No World For Tomorrow. The police eventually ruled out anything else as pure coincidence. - more on this story

Danzig Falls of Stage
antiMusic reports: Seems Danzig fall off the stage during Tuesday night's concert in Baltimore and reportedly dislocated his shoulder during the fall. Here's the story: Bob Suehs of Rock N Roll Experience has submitted the following report to Blabbermouth.Net: "I covered the opening night of the DANZIG tour in Baltimore, MD on October 23, 2007 and among other interesting things that happened that night, it was the first official performance of Doyle's [former MISFITS axeman Doyle Von Frankenstein] GORGEOUS FRANKENSTEIN and their set was plagued with problems.

And then during DANZIG's set, Glenn fell off the stage during 'How the Gods Kill' and I have a pic of him getting back onstage after the fall... Also, Glenn was in a bad mood after the fall he cut the show short and he nixed the MISFITS set with Doyle and was yelling at Todd Youth [guitar] the rest of the night telling him to slow down his playing.

The story I was told from a security guard was that Glenn dislocated his shoulder, but I can't confirm that. However, he was hurt badly because he did not meet fans after the show... he ran directly to the bus and didn't come out. Randy from LAMB OF GOD and the singer from GOD FORBID were in attendance at the show as well." - more on this story
