Garth Brooks Sells Out
E! reports: Garth Brooks is an utter sellout. The black-hatted crooner's rare return to the concert stage has proven one incredibly tough ticket, with all nine scheduled shows selling out in less than two hours.

To mark the release of his Ultimate Hits on Nov. 6, the semiretired "Friends in Low Places" singer initially agreed to headline a single concert at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri, with wife Trisha Yearwood singing shotgun.

But tickets to that first show, set for Nov. 5, were snapped up in four minutes on Saturday, prompting Brooks to add eight more shows- more on this story

Scott Ian Eats Crow
antiMusic reports: Scott Ian of Anthrax posted a statement on his Myspace page retracting some comments he made about the group's former lead singer Joey Belladonna. In that interview Ian said in part "But when the tour ended, we started having conversations about making a record and moving forward, and we spent three or four months where we just couldn't get an answer from Joey to the simple question, 'Do you want to make a record, yes or no?' Not that he wouldn't call back, but he wouldn't answer the question." Apparently Belladonna also questioned the finances of the band as well.

Now Ian says he misspoke. Here is what he has to say: I wanted to post something here regarding an interview that was recently posted on MTV.com. It was an interview with Jon Wiederhorn about the S.O.D. release Rise Of The Infidels (which I'm actually really digging!!!). After the S.O.D. questions we spoke about Anthrax and the situations with Joey Belladonna, John Bush and Corey Taylor.

I need to clear up my comments regarding Joey. Some of the things I said were of an inflammatory nature and at the time I was not in full possession of the facts. From then til now, all the information has been brought to light and it was unprofessional of me to speak without all the facts and for this I apologize. I know how to admit when I am wrong and I retract what I said about Joey. I consider Joey a friend and I never meant to cause him distress in anyway and I hope we can move forward from this as friends. - The original comments can be found here

Jenny Owen Youngs and Sean Hayes Tour
PR reports: Jenny Owen Youngs and Sean Hayes (otherwise known as Sean Hayes and Jenny Owen Youngs) are tired of going it alone and have decided to team up to co-headline on an upcoming North American tour.

They became aware of each other's music courtesy of Aimee Mann, an avid supporter of both artists. (Jenny recently opened for Ms. Mann in London and Sean sings background vocals on her next record.)

"Sean Hayes is a dreamboat." Jenny recently said in her typical deadpan style. "I find his music hypnotic, delicious, yet not too filling. I like his songs so much, I wish we weren't going on tour together so that we could have authentically anonymous sex." We're reasonably certain that she's joking.- more on this story

As part of our launch, we're seeking to profile some of the hottest up and coming, as well as established, millennium rock/metal bands! To that end, we are now seeking submissions for our CD Sampler, which should be emailed to [email protected] in MP3 format, along with a myspace link, and a contact name and number.

Each participating band will receive a brief (150-200) word write-up (additionally including contact info, websites, etc.), and color photo of the band in the Magazine itself, as well as promotional copies of the issue. Lillian Axed Again
PR reports: Metal Mind Productions proudly presents re-release of two Lillian Axe albums: "Lillian Axe" and "Love And War". Lillian Axe is one of those bands that managed to gather a truly loyal following during their career, but never really got the credit they deserved from the media. But despite the lack of commercial success, the band kept making new albums and continued their musical journey, only to become a cult act nowadays. Their latest offering "Waters Rising" proves that Lillian Axe haven't lost their touch in delivering brilliant songwriting backed with a handful of catchy melodies.

"Lillian Axe" - the debut album from 1988 - includes 10 electrifying compositions, showcasing a variety of emotions, gathered in heavy rocking tracks as well as in beautiful ballads. It's follow up, the album "Love And War" from 1989, is considered as one of the band's best offerings to date.

With these reissues you can now hear some of the best songs ever written by the group. These tracks cannot be ignored by any melodic metal enthusiast! This classic material taken from MCA archives will be available in a new digipak edition, released on golden discs, digitally remastered using 24-Bit process and limited to numerated 2000 copies. Both titles will be released on 19th November 2007 in Europe and on 22nd January 2008 in USA (via MVD).
