Amon Amarth US Tour

PR reports: After completing a hugely successful run on 2007's Sounds of the Underground tour and a monstrous performance at the Summer Breeze Festival, complete with a full Viking ship onstage, Amon Amarth is preparing for their final trek across the US before heading back home to Sweden to start work on their next album which will be out in 2008. 

The bands headlining tour starts in San Diego, CA at the House of Blues on November 19th and comes to an end in Los Angeles, CA on December 19th at the Avalon with support coming from Himsa, Decapitated, and Sonic Syndicate.

"Finally, after many successful supporting tours, we are going to North America to headline our own tour. We are really looking forward to the tour, and to be able to play a full set for the first time in North America." Amon Amarth- tour dates

Hurricane Chris Added To BET Hip Hop Awards

PR reports: Hurricane Chris, Polo Grounds Music/J Records' newest hip-hop phenomenon, has been selected to perform his hit single "A Bay Bay" from his upcoming debut album 51/50 Ratchet, on the 2nd Annual BET Hip Hop Award. 

Storming his way into the hip-hop scene with his hit "A Bay Bay," Hurricane Chris received four BET Hip-Hop Awards including Track of the Year, Ringtone of the Year, Rookie Artist of the Year and the Alltel People's Choice (Viewer's Choice). The four nominations make Hurricane Chris the most voted amongst the other "rookie" nominees (Plies, Rich Boy, Lil' Boosie and MIMS)! The BET Hip-Hop Awards will air on the network on October 17 at 9:00PM ET/PT.

Hurricane Chris is set to release his official major label debut album 51/50 Ratchet on October 23 on Polo Grounds Music/J Records.- more on this story

She Wants More Revenge

PR reports: Somehow we missed this one but never fear here is the heads up. She Wants Revenge' sophomore album "This Is Forever" is out today (Oct 9th) on Geffen Records and they are currently on tour spreading the word. Here is a little of what the PR company sent over about the CD:

Manilow Christmas

PR reports: Hallmark announced today that Grammy-winning music icon Barry Manilow is this year's Christmas CD artist. Manilow will give fans something to swing and sing about with the exclusive Hallmark Gold Crown Christmas album "In the Swing of Christmas." 

Manilow personally selected all ten songs for this special album which was produced and arranged by Manilow and co-produced by Scott Erickson. "In the Swing of Christmas" features traditional Americana songs flavored with some Manilow surprises, including his exclusive rendition of "Silver Bells," featuring 26 background vocals - all recorded by Manilow.

The Deadstring Brothers Plan Live DVD

PR reports: The Deadstring Brothers announce the filming of their first live concert DVD, on October 17th at the Bama Theatre in Tuscaloosa, AL. Set for release in 2008, the project will be produced by Joey Goodsell, a professor in the Department of Telecommunication and Film at the University of Alabama and David Allgood of the Bama Theatre. 

The 12 camera shoot will be captured in High Definition for the retail release and broadcast television. The performance will include songs from the new album, Silver Mountain as well as tunes from their previous album, the critically acclaimed Starving Winter Report.-

Big Top Guitar Auction

PR reports: An amazing piece of music memorabilia will go up for auction from October 7 to Sunday, October 14 on eBay. A Johnson rosewood guitar bearing the mark of 29 artists from this summer's Big Top Chautauqua season will be awarded to the highest bidder in the week-long auction. Some of the autographs included are B.B. King, Garrison Keillor, the Smothers Brothers, Leo Kottke, Greg Brown, Victor Wooten and Robert Cray.

A number of other auctions will be offered on eBay at the same time. Items include a cap signed by B.B. King, a tent-canvas hat signed by Earl Scruggs, concert posters signed by the artists, a Big Top Chautauqua season pass and Big Top merchandise. 100% of proceeds will benefit Big Top Chautauqua.

3 Mile Scream Album Stream

The Butterfly Effect Set US Release

PR reports: One of Australia's most intense rock bands, The Butterfly Effect, is set to release IMAGO, its second record, in the United States on Oct. 30, Indie rock label Captiva

A Little TV Goes a Long Way for Joe Bonamassa

PR reports: In a brand new, exclusive interview conducted by Rock N Roll Universe, hard-rocking blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa discusses his new album, 'Sloe Gin', working with producer Kevin Shirley(Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Dream Theater) as well as appearing with Ted Nugent on VH1's 'Supergroup' reality series. During the interview, Bonamassa also discussed recording at the BBC in 2006, appearing with drummer Carmine Appice as well as being named Guitar Player Magazine's 2007 Blues Guitarist Of The Year in the 
reader's poll. A short excerpt from the interview follows:

Rock N Roll Universe : Also speaking of players, you got together last year with Ted Nugent at The Sand Dollar Blues in Las Vegas for an impromptu jam, a portion of which was shown on VH1's 'Supergroup'. What was it like playing with Ted, and what effect did your appearance on that show have on your public profile?

Joe Bonamassa : I'll tell you what, it goes to show you that a little TV goes a long way. Because I literally was on that thing for what, fifteen, thirty seconds maybe? And everybody goes, "Were you on that 'Supergroup' show?" "Yes, I was." I love Ted Nugent. He's a great guy, and he loves guitars. He's been a great friend to me, and has said some wonderful things about me. I really respect the man and what he's been able to accomplish. As a showman, an icon of rock, Ted Nugent's "Ted Nugent". You just say the name and everybody knows what he's about. It was a strange thing, because reality shows, the way it was perceived was like, "Joe just happened to be at The Sand Dollar, jamming in front of the crowd, then Ted just happened to walk in." We actually were all sitting out in production trailers, we were filming a show. It was a cool thing, because nobody knew who was showing up there, they just said, "Two famous people are coming." Now, there's a different level between how famous I am, and how famous Ted Nugent is. When I went up, playing guitar, they were like, "Who the hell is this guy?" (Laughs) Then when Ted Nugent walked in, he goes from being Ted Nugent, the guy I know and have hung out with, to being Ted Nugent the showman. There's no better guy whom I've seen work a room. He walks in and he's a rock star. People just love him. We jammed for like twenty minutes, and I got to play the Byrdland, which was a thrill for me. I guess he doesn't let everybody play it. He said, "Would you like to touch the Byrdland?" (Laughs) It was just a fun experience, then we went to the airport. We actually played a show in Vegas the night before, and I stayed over an extra day. Then I bolted to the airport, and that was it.- Read the full interview here
