Demon Hunter and Dillinger Escape Plan Weeks Preview |
Here is Ryan with "Carry Me Down" from Demon Hunter's new album ''Storm the Gates of Hell" which hit stores last week: This song is about my funeral. It's a song to my loved ones, hopefully giving them some peace about my passing. It's not that I plan on dying any time soon, but I wanted to leave this song as a sort of love letter to my family and friends- explaining that they don't need to mourn for me. Death is inevitable, and I think this song will, in actuality, give people some peace about it, even if it's 60 years from now. Preview some track here http://www.myspace.com/demonhunter
And here is Liam with "82588" from DEP's new album "Ire Works" which hit's stores today!: This is the first of the more aggressive songs we started working on; there were other pieces of things, some of the songs with heavier electronics were jin-jangling around on Ben's bevy of hard drives, but this one was the first thing we started jamming on as a full band in late '05/early '06. It took us almost that whole time to settle on what, or maybe how that middle spaghetti-western/narrative section would end up. Ultimately, I think the studio magic and the wide range of gear we had at our disposal finally settled our scatterbrains about it. This was also one of the last songs we tracked drums for. The long stab pattern that starts at about 1:20 into the song is basically just a latin rhythm that we sped up and twisted beyond recognition...I think a lot of listeners, from their point of view just think that stuff is at worst, random, or otherwise over-thought, but it all seems relatively normal or perhaps crafty from ours. Obscene Beyonce Protest |
Resident Pamela Keeney says, "It's obscene. I have my two little grandkids coming over here, and they don't need to be seeing that. You can change the channel on the TV but you can't change that."
But KWNZ has stood by the billboard and has received the backing of city spokesman Chris Good. Scott Seidenstricker, manager of KWNZ, says, "The billboards were taken from publicity shots and this is the way those people perform.

Congress Vs Students |
Here is part of the CNET report: New federal legislation says universities must agree to provide not just deterrents but also "alternatives" to peer-to-peer piracy, such as paying monthly subscription fees to the music industry for their students, on penalty of losing all financial aid for their students.
The U.S. House of Representatives bill , which was introduced late Friday by top Democratic politicians, could give the movie and music industries a new revenue stream by pressuring schools into signing up for monthly subscription services such as Ruckus and Napster. According to the bill, if universities did not agree to test "technology-based deterrents to prevent such illegal activity," all of their students--even ones who don't own a computer--would lose federal financial aid.

As previously reported, the album will arrive at the very end of 2007 in international markets, with the U.S. release date two days later on January 2. [some reports tag it as Jan 1st which is a Tuesday the traditional US release date for CDs but also a national holiday]
Of course, In Rainbows is more famous already for the stir it created when Radiohead announced in early October that the album would be available as a download-only for the time being. Fans who passed on the download will now have their chance to buy the CD.

3 Inches of Blood Fire Drummer After Saxon Fight |
On behalf of all the members of 3 INCHES OF BLOOD we would like to express the utmost regret and sincere apology regarding the actions of our drummer, Alexei Rodriguez, that occurred in Minehead in the early hours of November 10.
In no way were Alexei's actions a reflection of our band....Alexei's behaviour was appalling and completely unacceptable and it is our decision to immediately remove him from the band. We would like to attempt to repair the damage that has been caused and hope that you will not think of 3 INCHES OF BLOOD as a band that habitually acts in such inappropriate ways."

My Bloody Valentine Reunion Confirmed |
Lead guitarist Kevin Shields discussed the group's reunion on Soft Focus, the VBS.TV talk show hosted by DC punk Ian Svenonius.
According to Shields, the three-fourths-completed set sounds very much like what you would expect from the Dubliners, as it picks up literally where they left off, largely consisting of songs that the band was working on when they broke up in 1995 (he and fellow Valentiner Belinda Butcher continued to work on songs into the mid-'90s). My Chemical Romance Pay University |
So why did they pull the plug on the show? Drummer Bob Bryar blogged their reason on their Myspace page last week: Hi, it's Bob. We are very sorry about canceling our recent show in Maine. I have been having many problems with my wrists over the past few years. They have been getting worse but I kept playing. I have seen many doctors to get some relief so I wouldn't have to stop playing. I guess I pushed it too hard this time. During our show at Maxwell's I got a golf ball-sized lump in my wrist, I started to not only have pain, but lose control and feeling in my fingers. I went through a process to control the swelling and attempted to play the show with Bon Jovi the next day.
The Bon Jovi show was really bad for me - I was dropping sticks and could barely hit my drums. After that show we decided I had to go get immediate treatment. I had to leave the tour. Being the stubborn person I am, I made a last minute decision to give it another shot on the second Bon Jovi show. It didn't work, we had to cut the set in half. We have a fill in now as I am getting treatment - he learned the songs in one day. We will try our hardest to make the show up to you when the specialists give me the okay. Thanks for understanding.
