Starz
Greatest Hits Live |
PR reports: MVD has set a 06/05/2007 release
date for Starz' Greatest Hits Live. Here is a blurb about the CD and band:
In the mid-seventies the airwaves were in serious danger of being overtaken
by light AM hits. A few bands waged war on this trend. Among the leaders
of this revolution were Starz, a musical army of soldiers carrying an arsenal
of roaring guitars, driving drums, thunderous bass and powerful vocals.
Over the next several years Starz toured the world with all the rock heavyweights
from Kiss to Aerosmith. Their Violation album was voted one of the Top
100 rock albums in history by Kerrang Magazine. Undoubtedly, Starz' studio
albums are classic, but to fully understand the band all it takes is one
listen to Greatest Hits Live.[see full story for more]-

Totimoshi
Announce Tour |
PR reports: Just off a West Coast tour w/
rock legends HELMET, Oakland, CA's sludge-grunge-alt-hell-rock trio Totimoshi
are back w/ the follow-up to 2003's "Monoli" and 2005's re-issue of Mysterioso
to bring we mortals one of the heaviest and doom-ridden masterpieces the
world of heavy rock has seen in way too long (no wonder bands like Helmet,
Mastodon, Fu-Manchu, Kylesa, High on Fire, and the Melvins have tapped
the band to tour and perform alongside on more than one occasion).

Finntroll
Set Date, Preview Track |
PR reports: After many nights of drunken debauchery
at Sonic Pump studios, where they certainly overstayed their welcome, FINNTROLL
are proud to bring North America another fine example of their trademark
blackened pagan folk metal on April 24. The Trolls from up North have posted
"Korpens Saga", a track taken from their forthcoming album Ur Jordens Djup
online. [see full story link]
Under the guidance of producer extraordinaire
Nino Laurenne, who has similarly assisted goth legends Nightwish and Amorphis,
FINNTROLL have crafted their most consistent concoction of cavernous chaos
yet, including a 13-minute closer. Ur Jordens Djup marks a unique chapter
for the band with a new vocalist who will be making his live North American
debut in September on a full U.S. tour (see full story for dates). With
former vocalist Wilska's departure in 2006, the remaining members scoured
their native homeland for a suitable replacement, only to stumble upon
the like-minded and equally inebriated Vreth. After a few pints, a number
of wild practice sessions, and a covert initiation rite, FINNTROLL welcomed
Vreth with open arms. You won't want to miss Vreth and the gang when they
hit your town. - Click

Loser Looking for Deal Via Another Contest |
PR reports: Although American Idol finalist,
Chris Sligh, was sent home packing last night after singing his rendition
of The Police's "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic," Sligh may still
have a second chance at a recording deal. Sligh's former band, Half Past
Forever, recently submitted a music video starring the curly-haired crooner
in the online video music competition, Music Nation, where artists compete
for a recording contract with Epic Records and are judged by celebrities
who include Nelly, Joel and Benji Madden of Good Charlotte, The Game, and
producer J.R. Rotem.

The
Benefit Concert Vol. 2 |
PR reports: Evil Teen Records and Warren Haynes
are proud to announce the release of The Benefit Concert Vol. 2, in stores
now. Recorded live December 21, 2000, at Warren Haynes' 12th Annual Christmas
Jam in Asheville, NC, at the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium, The Benefit Concert
Vol. 2 is the sequel to the acclaimed Wintertime Blues, the live recording
from 1999's 12th Annual concert.
The Benefit Concert Vol. 2 spans two discs
and offers more than two hours of incredible music. From Gregg Allman's
"Come and Go Blues" with Warren on guitar, and Drivin' n' Cryin's hit,
"Scarred but Smarter" performed by Kevn Kinney and John Popper, to Gov't
Mule crowd-pleasers like their cover of Tom Waits' "Goin' Out West," this
record is sure to offer something for everyone. And what would this amazing
line-up be without a reunion? The Benefit Concert Vol. 2 is highlighted
by the Aquarium Rescue Unit's (Col. Bruce Hampton, Jimmy Herring, Oteil
Burbridge, Jeff Sipe) first performance in nearly 5 years and the Warren
Haynes' Jammy award winning song, "Soulshine," performed by The Allman
Brothers Band[see full story for more]- Click

Victory
Now Booking |
PR reports: Victory Records, Inc., the [self
proclaimed] top independent rock label in the United States, has established
a tour booking department, adding to the company's current, forward thinking
structure.
"With many record companies in a state
of contraction it is exciting for us to be continually building and adding
new divisions. This newly established department will book live performances,
tours and events for our artists that are without booking agent representation.
It will also work hand in hand with our artists that do have booking representation
and their managers to optimize and enhance anything related to touring
and performing. Personally, I am very excited about this from a grass roots
perspective...."said Tony Brummel, Victory's Founder [see full story for
