(Reuters) R&B singer Musiq Soulchild topped the U.S. pop album charts Wednesday despite sharply lower sales, while Neil Young scored his second-highest opening position with an old live recording, Billboard reported.

Soulchild, whose real name is Taalib Johnson, sold 149,000 copies of his Atlantic debut, "Luvanmusiq," in the week ended March 18, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
