Anneke Leaves The Gathering
PR reports: Anneke van Giersbergen, singer for world-renowned Dutch rock act THE GATHERING, has decided to pursue new goals in life and music. In a statement from van Giersbergen, she says: Dear people, I wanted to send out this message to all of you to inform you that I have decided to leave The Gathering. After much consideration and some serious soul searching, I feel that it is time for me to change my direction in life and develop and search out new goals.

In all the wonderful years that I have been a part of The Gathering, we, as a band, have always strongly believed in sincerity: both personally and within our music. I have always been able to give one hundred percent of myself to the band and its music. Over the last year I developed an urge to initiate my activities from a different place in my heart, focusing on myself and my family.

In order to stay true to myself, the band, crew and the fans, I see no other option than to leave the band and pursue my new goals in life and music.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Chuck Ragan Sets Solo CD Release
PR reports: Chuck Ragan, the former front man for post-hardcore heavyweights Hot Water Music, will release his first studio solo album Feast or Famine on August 7. Fans received a glimpse into his solo work earlier in the year with a stripped-down live solo effort, Los Feliz. With Feast or Famine, Ragan delivers a fully-realized and compelling collection of 12 exceptional new songs.

Feast Or Famine, at its core is undeniably a folk record in the most traditional sense of the term. The violin-driven "Do You Pray" is startlingly reminiscent Bruce Springsteen's Bob Seeger sessions; "Don't Cry" recalls Uncle Tupelo and the austere "Symmetry" is dripping with so much raw emotion that you can almost feel Ragan's presence next you as he delivers his lyrics with his trademark urgency and passion. Manic Makeover
PR reports: Manic's atmospheric rock has received an electronic makeover courtesy of Faint bassist Joel Petersen's nom de plume, Broken Spindles. The sole knob tweaker for this electro side-project has remixed the L.A. band's track, "Carolina Ghost," off their forthcoming EP, ANOTHER NEW HOME, due July 24 on Suretone Records (The Cure, Weezer). The exclusive track, filled with a mix of robotic breaks and beats and staccato synth, will be made available soon.

This reinterpretation is a direct inverse to the paranoia-filled original found on the band's sophomore EP. The loping bass line and uneasy guitar meshed with a steady drum beat set the dark tone that permeates this four-song collection. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Initial Underworld Dates
PR reports: Karl Hyde and Rick Smith, together known as everyone's favorite and most sought-after electronic band, Underworld, have announced their plans of a US tour taking place early Fall '07. In the last five years, the demand has been great, the fans eager, and timing is now ripe for a return for the act notorious for it's phenomenal and life-changing performances. They weren't being cheeky in not attending to the great States, they were only biding their time in production studios, and refining what most already deem brilliant. What they will bring to the outdoor stages at Hollywood Bowl, Red Rocks and Central Park, one can only guess, but one must go see..and hear.

09/11 - Red Rocks - Morrison, Co.

Inner Surge Wolves Vision
PR reports: Canadian rock/metal band Inner Surge and director Shaun Friesen of Free Zen Design will be launching the band's new music video for "Wolves". Inner Surge and Shaun Friesen first teamed up in late 2005, when Free Zen Design did the original artwork and layout for Inner Surge's "Signals Screaming" CD, which received top reviews after it's April 2006 release through Cyclone Records.

The "Wolves" music video is a radical departure from Inner Surge's previous video "Retribution Song", produced by "Cabras" film director Fredy Polania. Always one to break the mold, Shaun Friesen's directorial debut focuses on multimedia collage and conceptual animation based on the songs subject matter - the events leading to and during the 1994 Rwandan genocide - while the band takes a backseat. Inner Surge was inspired by acknowledged heroes such as Paul Rusesabagina and Romeo Dallaire, as well as the stories of the many ordinary Rwandans who helped others through this event.

The video for "Wolves" is currently posted at MuchMusic's AXS website at the full story link.- Click Here for the Full Story
