Chuck Ragan Plans Roxy Release Party
PR reports: Singer/songwriter Chuck Ragan is set to release his studio solo album Feast or Famine August 7 and celebrate with a night of music at the Sunset Strip landmark, The Roxy Theatre. Earlier this year, fans received a glimpse into his solo work with a stripped-down live solo effort, Los Feliz. On Feast or Famine, Ragan delivers a fully-realized and compelling collection of 12 exceptional new songs.

Chuck Ragan has become a musical troubadour, writing stripped-down acoustic songs that retain the same passion evident in his punk rock career. Feast or Famine at its core is a folk record in the most traditional sense of the term. Produced by Ted Hutt (Bouncing Souls, Flogging Molly), the album showcases Ragan's remarkable musical talents and features guest appearances by many close friends including Matt Skiba, Jolie Holland, Jon Gaunt, Caitlin Barry and Nathan Maxwell. - show details

Don Preston Returns to the Road
PR reports: Keyboard legend Don Preston was quite possibly the first person to add synthesis to live rock performances, taking Frank Zappa's Mothers of Invention into uncharted musical territories over several tours and albums. Today, four decades after having built "analog synthesizers" from scratch before most people had heard of such things, Preston is a living legend and a pioneer who now tweaks synthesizers on his Apple laptop.

This summer Don Preston will set off on tour of Europe with his Akashic Ensemble, including a stop at the legendary, annual ZAPPANALE festival in Bad Doberan Germany. Having appeared there in the past with his Grande Mothers ensemble of fellow Zappa-alumni, Preston will bring his jazz-electronica-experimental trio to the stage in August of 2007. He will also make appearances in other European cities, including Vienna.- more on this story

Foreign Born Rapture
PR reports: When we gunslingers urged you to step away from the computer and take note on these guitar driven, psychedelic shoe gazed, west coast indie-pop-rockers Foreign Born, it's quite apparent that the majority did just that

For not 2 months since they've signed to Dim Mak Records and a month away from the release of their debut album "On The Wing Now" the future is certainly a sunny one for these Californian songsmiths. From the weight of their impeccably produced debut album, already receiving rave reviews from the critics and garnering praised attention from bands such as Grizzly Bear and Snow Patrol. They've now been invited to join The Rapture on the road and have secured a track on the hit television series Entourage - It's clear this band is a special one with an album not to be ignored.- tour dates

From Warrant to Underground Saint
PR reports: SleazeRoxx.com recently hooked up with ex-WARRANT frontman Jani Lane to discuss his plans to do a new solo record and his SAINTS OF THE UNDERGROUND project.
The following is a brief excerpt from the interview: Sleaze Roxx: When can your fans expect the release of 'Jabberwocky'?

Saints Of The Underground Courtesy of Jani Lane Jani Lane: Those songs, I don't know because I haven't really even sat down with my label, which is Immortal (Immortal/Sidewinder is the label ran by the band Incubus). I haven't sat down and talked with them about it either. So, it is really a matter of releasing SAINTS OF THE UNDERGROUND, doing a healthy 'Get people to know the band' tour. We're not going to go out and blast everywhere that has electricity but we will probably go out for four weeks in the U.S., two weeks in Europe, and a week in Japan to let people know it is out there. Then we plan on, as soon as everybody's schedules allow, doing another S.O.T.U. record cause I write with Keri Kelli like that! (Snaps fingers) We write really well together. It has really been a juggling act right now.

I have some other, kinda big exciting things coming up in the next year that I am planning on right now but it's a little too early to really get into but I'm gonna be doing some studio stuff that, I think, is pretty exciting, so we will see.- Read the full interview here
